Great burgers. There are about 43 different burgers on the menu. There's also a tavern that's part of the building so you can have beers with your burgers and after play some pool. We had fries which were some of the best I've ever had. Sumpter is a cool little town with a rich history of gold mining. Visit Sumpter and go have a great burger.

We had the daily dinner special on two nights. Chicken fried steak the next night rib steak with mashed and load baked potato. So delicious. We also tried the burgers with fries. Excellent. The waitress was wonderful and mom the cook knows what she’s doing. Two wonderful evenings. Plus the price was right. Thanks ladies.

Great dish and chips . Owners and family are cool people , really neat looking place , most likely the place to be in the evening s here in Sumpter but also first place I have eaten and checked out . I'll be back for other meals while here for five days. So had the meatloaf Saturday night that had very obvious smoke ring and was made very simply and tasted perfect . I was lucky he saved some for me ! The service was great every night we where in there and made a few friends . They where very prompt at removing the trash that had came in and caused problems , was kind of entertaining watching the weird person not want to leave after many requests to do Soo !! Music was perfect from the live band and all customers and staff where friendly ! They also had some great pickles and asparagus !!

I have nothing to say but, FANTASTIC! If you like a good hearty meal and you're within 30 miles or so from here then you have got to at least visit once for some grub and drinks. Their selection of burgers and American faire is impressive, especially considering how isolated the town of Sumpter is. The staff are incredible, providing efficient and friendly service. Our server, Candice, was one of the best servers that I have ever had the pleasure of dining with. They have a pretty substantial beer selection with reasonable prices and also have a full bar, which is located in the room adjacent to the dining area. They also have a pool table in the bar area.The icing on the cake is that the Elkhorn Saloon has a welcoming environment. When you come here you will feel like you're part of the Sumpter family. I kid you not, every single person I crossed paths with struck up a conversation with me and my family. It was truly a great experience. I highly recommend this spot!

Best burger I've ever had in my life, hands down. Waitress was super friendly and the food was brought to us quickly. I thanked the cook(Garrett) personally for the best burger ever. Nice cozy, small-town atmosphere, will definitely come back soon!

12 of us had lunch there today for taco Tuesday it was delicious. The elk burger was very good as was the taco salad and tacos. Even thou they were short staffed the food came out timely nice and hot.

Order a drink and settle in for a relaxing night by yourself or with friends...You need to visit the ELKHORN!!! Visit Sumpter on a road trip and Stay for the hospitality and fun you are guaranteed to have.

Absolutely LOVE this place! Small town feel with big city quality. The ribeye special is well worth the cost and their breakfast is amazing! Staff is friendly as well as the many locals you’ll encounter while eating here. Will definitely be back whenever we’re in town!

Great staff, they take great care of you, food was awesome, specially the pizza which you can only get on Thursday’s, I recommend them for sure! It’s family run and they know how to treat their customers! Even opened on a closed day to feed our party of 12 that had no where else to go! Will be back every year!

An experience. Restaurant side local couples enjoying a night out and bar side a little more lively. We enjoyed the lengthy burger menu. Sat at the bar and enjoyed the locals’ banter. Celebrated my partner’s 60th birthday there – a memorable night.

Great little bar and grill. The bacon cheeseburger was delicious and the fries were crispy & tasty. I just hope more beers will be added to the tap in the future. Only 2 beers on tap doesn't allow for much of a selection. The bottle selection made up for it, so I will definitely go back next time I'm in Sumpter.

Just go next door, walked in the front door while going to dinner with the family and was yelled at for having our kids with us when we walked in. The front entrance is only to the bar, when we finally figured out the entrance to the cafe was through the back door of the woodshed we sat ourselves down, waited for 5 minutes and still no one said a word. We decided to pack up and leave, not a word except for the very rude yelling at us. We went across the street and was pleasantly surprised how nice they were, food was delicious, and portions large.

Enjoyed a visit to the saloon very much. The owners and regulars were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The burgers are awesome and they can make just about any conceivable combination you think of. It was nice they stocked Mirror Pond too.

GREAT PLACE TO EAT! Everything on the menu is amazing! You can't come to Sumpter without stopping for a bite to eat at the Elkhorn (but save some apple pie for me!) Taco Tuesday is legendary but you better be hungry! Great group of people super hometown feel! They ROCK!

Came in for taco Tuesday. The tacos are pretty loaded up, not in a cheap mostly lettuce way some places do.Fountain soda wasn't flat like most bars like to serve. Also they were really friendly. They have a pool table that the felt looked pretty clean.The back dining room was warm which is great since it's freezing outside and it wasn't noisy. Also I saw a sign saying after 9 younger kids could be in the dining area as long as they were with adults.

Good food, in fact the only place open in 10+ mile range. Busy guy taking orders; let alone feeling welcome. Irritated cook who keeps saying "I love my job". It's a bit unsettling that he is handling your food but then it's better than eating canned food.

Owner was very whiny and put out by providing service and food. Whined when a friend asked about a cocktail he didnt want to make, whined because someone didn't finish their food, and whined when asked to split the check. Interior is from the 70s and grimy. Burgers are pretty good, but getting service from someone that is so miserable makes the place a pass.
