the services i got done themselves went fine but i took my rescue dog there and specifically told them that i had only had her for 3 days and that she would probably bite because she’s reactive. i offered to use a muzzle during her services and they declined, then she ended up biting one of them when they had to use a LONG needle. They then proceeded to give me a lecture about muzzles and were upset with me that she bit as if i didn’t literally just tell them it might happen and i was wanting to put a muzzle on her. it was just odd and didn’t make any sense. won’t be going there again.

Xavier, Lindsay, and Bren all deserve 5 stars! Initially was a bit skeptical about taking our two rescues, Boog + Whiskey, to any groomer outside of our home. These three, as well as all of the other staff there, have always extremely patient, kind, and loving towards our boys. We have had several appointments with them now and each time they have done an excellent job. I would definitely recommend them if you are needing anything for your dogs as they are very trustworthy and friendly.

All the folks working at the Gateway store are super friendly and helpful. I always feel welcome there. Also, this petco is always well-stocked with all the items I need, so I can always stop in in-between auto-ships for a restock of my pets' supplies

Absolutely the most insane experience ever. My mother was trying to purchase 2 bearded dragons. The woman insisted they needed their own enclosure. When asked why? (Simple question) the employee replied that she does not appreciate being attacked and that she could no longer help us and walked away. Zero professionalism. Customers should be able to ask questions about animals and get information before purchasing. Not treated as if you have somehow attacked or victimized a store employee. I have been in this location multiple times and never encountered such ignorance.

The poor integration with their website makes it useless to check online. I've only used the website twice and both times they were unsuccessful. The first time a few months ago I arranged an item for pickup in store, and it turns out they didn't actually have it and cancelled my order the next day.Recently I decided to give it another shot and ordered a different item to be delivered in store, only for the order to be cancelled the next day again.The store is fine if you're just wandering in blindly and not looking for anything in particular, but if you're searching for something specific and trying to save time the website will lie about availability and end up wasting even more of your time. This means that either the website is 100% useless or that the location has serious problems with tracking their items and reporting changes in inventory to the point that it makes the website useless.

Lots of options for different brands of animal foods for pretty good prices. About the same price as most competitors. Lots of fish to pick from and see, as well as aquariums and accessories to choose from. Lizards, mice, bird, and lots of other animals there as well. They have a dog grooming spot and dog training. Staff is friendly and helpful. The store is clean as well.

Wasn't bad but there was a few dead fish floating in tanks. Also the black and white tegu looked like it was hungry searching for a meal. But the service was nice for 6 dozen crickets and the lady was quick

Nice place to buy fish. Mikey was totally chill and helpful with out purchase. I had to take a picture of this totally cute blue lobster. I wish I could have bought more here

I was trying to explain why I was bringing product back. Your sales clerk - puts up his hand and says he doesn't want to hear it. I said that's kinda rude don't you think. I asked if he was the Manager and he said one of them. Well I won't be returning to your Gateway Shoppes store in Springfield, OR. I buy dogs food from your Company. But I will be switching to another type of food.The guy attempted to apologized. I think this Gentleman should not be working in Customer service.

Went to pet Co 3 days ago and bought a betta fish. Well after getting home noticed he was swimming funny. I guess what they call death hang? Because he was swimming completely vertical. Head up tail down. I figured it was just something because of the small container he came in. Well woke up the next day to find him dead.... when I called and talked to them they tried to act like it was just nothing and to get a return I would have to take the dead fish back. Mortifying my children. I just feel bad for the lil fish. Pics from the morning I found him dead. He was only in the container still because was waiting on the tank water to be at temperature for him.

Closing half an hour or earlier before you're supposed to close at 7pm on Sunday. Showed up at 6:30pm and the employee said through the locked front door they close early on Sundays because they're extremely short staffed, even though we saw multiple employees inside. Ridiculous!!!!

Decent petco, seems to have what we need. Carries a wide variety of brands for my cats and dog. Employees helped us out when we were looking for litter.Actually had a pretty awesome selection of reptiles. They seem to take good care of the critters and keep the store clean and inviting.Will definitely return, I've always liked petco.

Worst. Website. Ever. I have repeatedly brought the specific website problems to management at two local PetCo stores. When searching a SPECIFIC dog food brand and checking the buy-in-store box and the BRAND NAME box what happens? TONS of OTHER BRANDS row upon row upon row, finally find the searched brand at the very bottom of the page and also that the website has switched my location to another store FAR FAR FAR away despite my SPECIFICALLY SELECTING A PETCO LOCATION. Happens over and over. And of course despite checking in-store, the details reveal "not available for pickup." The PetCo web experience is sending me STRAIGHT TO CHEWY. Bet me that the ONLY response from web manager is just one more cliche of how they "take this very seriously" and how they will "pass it on to management [or webmaster]" but that's just so much AI-generated blather - DOES NOT HAPPEN. Hello Chewy, you have a new customer! Worse yet the Review Police RECHECKS from my awarded one star to FOUR like this is a GOOD review and it is NOT. UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spoke to them over the phone on Wednesday and was asked to make sure I bring my dogs rabies tag when I dropped him off for a trim/wash on Saturday. Drove an hour from up-river to drop him off and the guy at the desk tells me I need his rabies papers. Of course my vet is closed Fri-Sat-Sun so they couldn’t call to verify. Horrible experience, horrible customer service, wasted tons of gas because they lied to me.

The cashier was very helpful and seemed sincerely nice. But, honestly, the prices were too high. We decided to buy a retractable leash as our old one had finally broke, and it was 40.00 dollars. That's crazy. I was also going to buy dog food, but it just seemed too expensive.

They are bit over priced but other than that they're great :) i got my beta shera there (yes its a girly name lol my mum name him)Edit: sadly i have to take 3 stars down.sadly this fish and multiple other fish i have gotten here were very sick and died within a couple days and spread sickness and kill a bunch of my fish :/ i have heard from alot of different people and even stores that their fish arent the best and almost always are sick :( please do something petco :/

Has a good stock of most things, friendly staff, good prices. Only knocked it down a star cause on my last visit I asked for a product and a staff member was very pushy with her options and didn't fully help me find what I was looking for (but did find me a cheaper alternative)

Update:I was recently in for items for my dogs recovery after surgery and Jorge helped me. He was knowledgeable and so helpful. So extra thanks Jorge.I was looking for a specific dog ball and they had it. There was also a great area for birthday items for your pet’s birthday.

I was quoted over the phone $10 less for every size of Live rock. So I was quoted $25 for large, $15 for medium and $5 for small. Each size was actually $10 more than the quoteAlso, the sizes were utterly subjective to the customer service person helping me. They decided what was large medium and small without any stated guidelines or measurements.I feel that I overpaid for each piece and there is no real recourse. Perhaps I should have come back and hoped for a more realistic price ..?Obviously not a good experience

I'm truly disappointed with my recent experience at Petco in Springfield, Oregon. The manager, Jorge, made my visit unbearable by being extremely demeaning and belittling. Despite having received permission from another employee to use the restroom after driving all the way from Florence to Springfield, Jorge treated me with disrespect and disregard for my needs. This encounter has left me utterly disheartened and frustrated, marking it as the worst encounter I've ever had with a corporate establishment.On a positive note, the grooming department has consistently provided exceptional service for my dog. Their dedication and skill have always impressed me. It's regrettable that such an outstanding grooming department is overshadowed by the disappointing behavior of the management.As much as I've appreciated the grooming services, I can not overlook the distressing encounter with Jorge. This regrettable incident forces me to conclude that I won't be returning to Petco in Springfield. It's truly disheartening to have to make this decision, especially considering the positive experiences I've had with the grooming team.

I don't think it's okay that you have an employee named John who is acting very creepy and hitting on and asking customers out. My fiance went there with a friend, and as they were looking around, he approached them and was acting pretty repulsive, and even though they asked for him to go away, he still harassed them. They reported it to another employee (Daisy), and that person said this has been an issue with this particular person, even with employees. If this has been an issue, why have they not been reprimanded??? I highly recommend this person not working for your company as I could see it leading to a lawsuit.
