This place should never have any lower than 5 stars. They're very helpful so long as you are willing to ask advice. I've been going here for years and every staff member is friendly and love their return customers. Their prices are very reasonable and they have no shortage of live plants and beautiful fish. 10/10 best place to go for anything your aquarium needs.

Have made multiple trips here and every time, there is this woman with glasses who comes across as very cold, unfriendly and disinterested in being helpful. I would very humbly remind this person that nobody is forcing them to work there.Really bums me out because I’m new to the hobby and in my multiple visits to this store, I’ve never been made to feel welcome and the unfriendly staff makes this hobby seem very intimidating. I have no doubts that the staff are all best buddies so they won’t care what I say about a particular employee but to anyone reading this and considering visiting, steer clear if you have any self respect.

Love this store! Staff is knowledgeable about their stock of fish and plants. Always friendly and willing to answer questions and make suggestions. Their fish are strong and healthy. Tanks are very well kept and plants are amazing. Definitely a must go to for fish fanatics whether it be saltwater or freshwater. And the fish live unlike most one would get at petco or petsmart

I really liked it. They have a very wide selection of aquatic life. The people are very nice and helpful. They are a little pricey but it was much better and more comfortable than shopping in a box store. I didn't have a problem having someone nice and knowledgeable spend time with me. I would definitely go there again.

I have been in a few times over the years and each time I hope that the experience is better. I also always hope the Betta set up has changed. For being a LFS I find your choice of display for the bettas surprising and deeply disappointing. Not only are they extremely difficult to see in those tiny bowls they are also not in great shape. By keeping them in bowls it does further the myth that you can keep these fish in bowls. There are many ways to display them in temporary tanks that include filters and heaters.Additionally having them properly displayed will also move your product as they will also look better from proper care and you’ll be able to see them better.A note on the staff is they generally always seem uninterested in helping or greeting you as you come in and more interested in their phones.Happy to share ideas for a better display for the bettas. Better health for the fish, more sales for you. That seems like a win win.I also attempted to share this concern in private but it went unanswered for quite a few weeks. So now it’s on your page.

Enjoyed viewing the saltwater tanks. The freshwater tanks had the critters we were looking for but at a steep price. Managed to find the fish and plant food. Staff person was definitely more interested in their phone than helping.

Friendly, knowledgeable staff will help you with your journey in both saltwater and freshwater hobby. They will give you their expert advice on your tank. Bring in a water sample and they will get you what you need. they also have plants for so when you bring your wife she will be preoccupied too. One of the only saltwater aquarium stores in Salem. If you want to take someone out on a date or bring your kids to see some fish this is the place to go as well.. highly recommend stopping in and taking a look.

I love bringing new enthusiasts to this shop. It's pretty much our only local fish store that isn't a corporate garbage pit, and the owner is flexible and knowledgeable about both fresh and saltwater.Chances are, if you've bought a bronze cory recently, it's from my tanks. ❤️

My first visit to Premium Aquatics was a good one. As I walked in the display tanks really caught my eye. As I walked around I started looking at fish. They had a good variety with a few odd ones. I loved the frag tanks they had a good variety with lots of colors, and ones I hadn't seen. No prices on the tanks so you have to ask. All and all it was a good trip

Just before the pandemic, I started building a considered, 55-gallon planted, nano tank. Now, a year-and-a-half later, I can look back on my experience and say with validation and confidence that the people of Premium Aquarium have consistently provided the knowledge and materials I needed to succeed. On occasion, they have warned me off an idea that would have been disastrous. When needed, they special ordered fish and materials. Throughout the pandemic, they behaved with all due caution and care for their clients. I'm beginning the process of building a second tank, and I expect to look no further than my favorite aquaria store for what I need.

Great store, lot of selection and knowledgeable staff. Leave your jacket at home. Its hot in there from all the tanks. Lot of corals, zoas. Frogtoes and other cool corals plus lot of equipment and fresh water stuff. Be sure to check out the freshwater pico selection. Most pico fish I've ever seen in one store.

Today was my first time visiting this aquarium store. The customer service and store manager Chris, was excellent. The selection and quality of merchandise was all very good. I highly recommend this store and will definitely be back.

Tanks cleans but employees yelling at one and another. Fish stays the same week after week and prices are much higher then going to wet spot in Portland. If you have time for the drive I would go to the wet spot for more selection and better prices.

There were dead fish floating in tanks which were dirty, discus had spots and goldfish were ill overall was generally unimpressed and sad.

Great place for fresh, and salt water!! I've been a customer on and off over the years as I change up my tanks. Best part is the staff is pretty knowledgeable which that alone is something that you will not get at the big box stores. I definitely suggest that you check them out, you won't go wrong.

I wasn’t going to leave a review but it’s been bothering me for a few days so here we go. I tried to like this place but after the third visit and the same outcome of terrible service I will not be going back as well as referring my friends elsewhere. The fish and aquarium hobby isn’t necessarily an inexpensive hobby so if I am spending a lot of money in your store with absolutely awful service it makes me feel like I wasted my money and takes the joy out of it! I love my pea puffers and I needed pest snails I was told in a very rude tone “I don’t generally provide that service…going around and individually picking out pest snails” as I continued my way around the store the only employee that has ever showed nice customer service asked me if I needed anything and seemed totally fine and accepting of my request and although I was then happy I was charged FIVE dollars for a few pest snails when other places in Portland and even Petco charge ten cents a snail or even just gift them to me and I was willing to pay but it basically comes down to they are rude, and aside from the snails their fish are over priced and the tanks aren’t well maintained. The store also looks nothing like the nice photos on Google. The little tank next to the front door had dead flies floating in it and the tanks on the check out counter are in such poor condition :(
