I have been fortunate to have adopted 2 dogs from this shelter two years apart. The volunteers that put so much time and energy to save pups from kill shelters are amazing. Most def a place to keep your eye on for your next family member! My sister who lives in Washington state just adopted her new baby from here a couple of weeks ago. Such an easy process and not hundreds of dollars like a lot of rescue shelters.

We were looking for a companion for our Pomeranian, Milo, and we found Lilly 4 years ago. She was brought up from a culling or kill kennel In central California. She was rescued and we love her and so does Milo. Always rescue a pet if you want one. Please!

This is an amazing no kill shelter that takes great pains in matching people and dogs! They have a great facility and an amazing staff!!! Can't say enough about this shelter!

Refused me and my fiancé a dog that we were seeking as a family pet/companion animal for my mental health because (and I quote) "we are pregnant". I'm 20 weeks pregnant and suffer from depression and anxiety panic attack disorder.Again we were NOT denied based off of past pet experience or lack of training ability, nor a bad background check, we were denied a family pet because I am in the process of growing a child in my womb. Don't waste your time. This is 100% discrimination.

Nothing but wonderful things to say about Reedsport K9. We found our Lilly, (Violet) by seeing her beautiful face online 5 years ago now. When I had extra $ from making face masks I donated when I could. They are all wonderful caring people. If you wish to donate contact them or the Reedsport Police department. My wife and I adopted our dog Molly from this Shelter and it's clear how dedicated everyone is to the wellbeing of our furry friends. Molly was in a shelter in California and set to be put down, so they saved her life.In the spirit of full transparency, not only am I a customer, I've been volunteering at the shelter for more than a year.I've seen some negative feedback on here and in Facebook. It's to be expected that, especially in a small community like this, there would be some people who are unhappy.People get upset when their dog keeps getting loose and ending up at the shelter, with the cost of 'bailing the dog out.' adding up quickly. Disappointment is to be expected when you have your heart set on adopting a pup, and you are not allowed to.In all cases, though, you can be certain that the volunteers running the shelter are making decisions with the best interest of the dogs at heart. You can disagree with their judgement, however, you'll find their intention always favors what's best for the dog.
