After the loss of my dog I looked for a new companion and best friend. No animal hit me like Sundance (Now Jack) when we first met him.The team was so patient with my few visits, helpful with loads of questions, and super friendly staff that really care for the well-being of the animals. We were in and out for the adoption in about an hour. We met with 2 dogs and had sundance do his meet and greet with our other dog. The paperwork process was a breeze and we were off with my new best furry friend resting in my lap.He's been such a lovable boy just wanting to play fetch for hours! He's also made himself right at home in our workshop!

The staff and facility at Brightside (especially Alicia at the front desk)are amazing, with the exception of the smarmy condescending director who thinks she is just the best trainer and dog psychiatrist ever. Im from ohio, we invented the backhanded insults and belittling comments. Drax now Bruno is a perfect fit for our family. He loves to hug and cuddle and go for long car rides. He is the perfect energy level. Clean well cared for animals. Professional medical team. And fair pricing.

A great shelter that I believe really care for the animals and their relationships. We have been twice for a dog and a cat and were treated very professionally. Both animals came to us in excellent health and had obviously been well cared for. Hannah was very friendly and amazing throughout the process.

We went in to see if a dog we found had a microchip which he did and they immediately contacted the registered party. they were very kind and caring. plus they are a no kill shelter. so, if the owners don't come to claim the dog, they will notify us and we will get first chance to adopt him. 😀

Terrible renter bias. If you’re looking to adopt and you rent they treat you like you’re just passing through and won’t take you serious. Absolutely disappointing.

Worst animal shelter in Redmond. Came in to drop off stray kittens that I just saved from road. First say that they have ring worms, can't take them. Then saw that I'm different county. Oh now can't take them because I'm not from Deshutes county. Worst people. Didn't know non-profit had its own rules against taking them from outside county. Then why be a non-profit and becoming an animal shelter?And also while I was waiting outside. I saw a few employees pulling the leashes on the poor dogs that are trying to go to the bathroom. Lady in the back receiving animals. Very rude elderly lady. Try to persuade me to stay with the cats that I cannot have in my home.

Brightside animal center was well worth the 3 hour drive to adopt this handsome boy! Their facilities were bright, and clean, and the volunteers and employees were knowledgeable and helpful. Thanks for bringing Valentine ( Jax) into our lives! He's a perfect match! ❤️❤️❤️

Great place lots of options for animal needs . FREE dog kennels food and bedding if needed . First time shelter animals and returning are well cared for. helpful cheap for fees and chipping your pet. 40$ 😲👍 about the same for pets brought over night or returning . Did once have my dog show up there for 2 days and I called and went in they said they still didn't have him . when he was there the whole time don't know what went wrong there 🤷. Other then that no complaints

The staff was very compassionate and responsive when my Mom went into hospice and I had to surrender her cats. The facility is well kept up and clean.

If i could give zero stars i would. I lost my cat on a Friday then on Saturday tried to call bright side. The lady at the front desk transferred the call and it went to voice mail. The lady at the front desk wasn’t helpful at all. Come to find out Saturday night my cat was there. But couldn’t pick him up until Tuesday when they opened. I got First thing at 10 am. The front desk lady said i had To walk to the back of the building to receiving. No one was there so i walk Back to the front desk. I was almost in tears because I felt like they were jerking me around. So i go Back to the front desk tell them that one is there. And this lady said she would take me back to were my cat was. I told Her my experience with the front desk ladies. And she just said “we are short staff and have a lot of people surrendering their dogs” which I totally understand. Sometimes your job can get very stressful. But you think that they would be a little more helpful because I’m trying to get my cat back. This whole experience left a really bad taste in my mouth for this animal shelter. The front desk ladies should be a little bit more helpful and nicer.

I strongly feel that bright side doesn't know what they're doing. We found a puppy on their website and we went and visited it we had our mom come down and bring her dog several times to get along with the new dog. And the dog got adopted out from underneath my mom it was very upsetting to her she had been putting a lot of time and effort into this dog and it got adopted out right underneath her.I think the management is grouchy everyone else there that works there is amazing.

Nicest staff. They are very caring. A few years ago when we were looking for a dog to adopt, we went through their book of pictures and they very nicely brought each one in the room for us to interact with. I didn't mind this process. Three cats roaming freely is great. I think it helps socialize then and you are able to see how they react.All in all I like this shelter a lot. It's worth the drive to visit a no kill facility.

Friendly staff, obviously animal lovers. Clean and smells nice. No kill shelter, so that is a plus to us. We plan to adopt a cat this weekend. Our recent visit was to let a cat seek us. I think we have a winner for us all. Some fees of course, but it goes to keep the mission going.Dogs available too of course, but not a fit for us right now. This facility is a wonderful option for all involved. Evaluate your choice and save a life while finding a loving friend.This is the perfect and ever so sweet cat we adopted. We kept her original name, since she knew it. She is ten years old. She's very affectionate. We couldn't be happier with her.

I've been at this animal shelter a few times. My family has also adopted two kitties from here. We had to take one of them back because it just wasn't working out but someone else adopted her right away. I'm very glad. She was a sweet girl but should not be around other cats. The other cat that was adopted is now my fur baby! She ended up picking me out of everyone else.I love how this shelter treats their animals especially their cats. I love how the cats can roam around the cat rooms and not be locked in a cage all day like other shelters do. They get to play with others and personally I think they would find homes quicker too! They make sure that all of their animals get out and play and interact with people. The staff really shows their support for their animals and will do anything to find them a new home. Great job Brightside! Keep it up! :-)

My mind's Blown Away the thrift store has lost their mind 5 to 7 dollars for a coffee cup, items that have been donated to them they're expecting to get retail price, absolutely insane, thrift store shopping is supposed to be fun and an affordable experience, this is absolutely ridiculous, the prices are just unbelievable, they'll be closing soon with these practices

These people let us play, fall in love with a dog and fill out all the paperwork, only to tell us they gave the perfect dog we were looking for for months away as we were waiting in the parking lot of their establishment for our leasing office fo call them. They were minutes away from getting a call from our leasing office, and they still decided to hand her away after we pleaded for them to let us keep her money in hand, knowing very well we only required a form to be filled out with our apartments on our end and no lessons office was needed. Terrible rude woman on the phone who questioned us and at the end of the day we were bawling knowing we lost one of the few dogs that won’t send me into a allergic attack.

Why is it that everything you put in the description about your animals the EXACT opposite of what their personality really is like?Says a dog is nice and cuddly and playful? I've been looking to volunteer somewhere for some time. I saw an ad in the paper stating Brightside was looking for just that. I stopped by, signed up for an orientation and came back a week later for it. I tell you, these people are dedicated like I've not seen before. The attention and care given to the animals here on a limited budget is incredible. The effort they put into their programs and conjuring up new ones is very impressive and inspiring. For the discarded animals in our county, this is a loving sanctuary where the staff gives everything they can. This place is full of heart! <3

Great environment, big, clean, the people there are amazing, they really have a heart for animals and it shows. They have a few cats that roam around freely and come up to you when you enter the building. They do really good work and are really involved in the community. Everyone was so helpful when my friend and I were there last Tuesday. I ended up adopting a cat named Chive (her new name is Lucy Lou Lou) She is a delight!! After just a few hours of hiding under the bed she started interacting with me and is really enjoying her new home (we both are!) Thank you for helping me find a new friend!
