My husband found this place when we were looking for my daughter’s first fish! We had read how you are supposed to bring in a water sample so we did. They were busy when we first got there so we looked around until it was our turn. There are so many options here but we only have a 2 gallon tank. After testing our water, they went through the options with us and helped her pick out a fish.I was excited that we were also able to purchase live plants instead of just the fake plastic ones from childhood. They have a very wide variety of rocks and pebbles as well as tank accessories. They were very helpful and patient with my daughter.The prices seemed pretty fair, especially for the fish itself. We will be back for sure!

Finally leaving a review of this store, I was waiting until I had visited many times in order to be a bit more certain of what the norm is so I could be confident my input would be valid. I've spent hundreds in here (which is slightly too easy to do, but this hobby isn't very cheap no matter how you go about getting your supplies) And I've been in many times, perused every aisle and searched every tank each time and I've yet to see anything short of awesome. Every tank looks great and I haven't seen a dead or dying fish yet. Out of THAT many tanks and that much livestock, not ONE dead fish is seriously impressive. I wouldn't even be put off to see one, it happens, but I just haven't.They almost always have awesome selections of plants, of all types. Every plant I've gotten from them is doing great! They are very generous with the portions of floating plants, I know I got more than I paid for both times I got floaters. Came with a little duckweed but I already had lots of that so I hardly noticed. I didn't even quarantine them, to be honest I also didn't quarantine the black neon tetras I got here, or anything actually! Not usually a wise choice, but they all were so healthy and I don't regret it one bit, they came with zero problems. I added one guppy I got from Petco into my old guppy tank after quarantine for only a few days, two days later literally the entire tank was dead, the Petco guppy was first. So I'm very aware of the implications of improper quarantine, but so far from here I've gotten multiple plants, about 10 rc shrimp, six black neon tetras, and a gorgeous male Betta and none of them were quarantined and I'm happy with that choice.Plus the Bettas! If you hate walking into a pet store and seeing those heartbreaking cups they let all those Bettas die in, you have to come here! The Bettas can be hard to notice at first because they're all spread out throughout the store in huge tanks that they have to themselves! Well they do have tank mates, if they can tolerate them, but no other Bettas. They look so happy and all of them are so vibrant and active. Plus they have a sorority tank, well last time I was in they did. About 5 or 6 female dumbo ear Bettas all fluttering around together in a big tank looking all peaceful, they were adorable! I wanted one but I didn't want all of them and they looked so peaceful I didn't want to disturb their little world by taking one out! Usually I want to save the Bettas/fish I see in stores and give them a better life but for the first time I felt like they had it so good in the store that I didn't want to mess it up, that's a really awesome change!Plus their loyalty program is pretty neat, if you get supplies often it's definitely worth joining. I will keep supporting this store as long as I can if they keep up the great work they're doing currently. I spend way too much time and money in there pretty much every single time but that's just an indication of a darn good place!

What an amazing store, every tank looked well established and all the fish looked happy and healthy.The employee didn’t hesitate to tell me they don’t have zebra loaches. After looking around my partner spotted a tank of them.

my boyfriend went in yesterday because our fish weren’t doing well. we did a test at home and it looked okay but we had a feeling we were missing something. they tested our water and told us our water was garbage (ouch a little blunt but we needed to hear the truth). We just can’t say thank you enough! we didn’t realize we were over feeding! our fish are not struggling anymore after your advice and the product we bought! We can’t thank you enough! we are also working on being more educated so this doesn't happen again. Thank you!

I visited World of Wet Pets, And it was everything I was expecting they had a large variety of fresh water and as well as salt water fish of different shapes and sizes. They're inventory includes much more than your typical betta fish that you see in your local pet store.There is also an assortment of Invertebrates that they carry; for instance may Different shapes and sizes of snails, shrimp, crabs, starfish, sae anemones, sae urchins, corals etc...They also have a large variety of supplies Such as rocks, Driftwood, Sand and many other aquarium accessories for your tank.Other than Fresh and saltwater fish they also carry a diverse selection of aquatic plants.The staff there was super attentive if I didn't see a fish I was looking for, they would show me where the fish was located or informed me that they did not have it in stock. The staff/employees would also answer all my questions if I had any. Overall I would definitely recommend coming here if you are interested in purchasing some cool aquatic pets that you wouldn't normally see in your local pet stores.

Always a wonderful experience with this place! I've been coming here for years now. The staff is always incredibly helpful, and knowledgeable. Every fish I have purchased from them has always been healthy! They house their Bettas in large community tanks, so no cups!Some of their prices can be a little steep, and my wallet is always hurting when I leave that place. However, I enjoy supporting this place, the staff, and the fish, of course! Highly recommend!

If your even a semi-serious aquarium hobbyist this is the place to go. Great selection of equipment and supplies for freshwater and marine. Well stocked fresh and marine fish all healthy and happy. Haven't lost anyone from here yet. Great selection of aquatic plants including tissue cultured. I've yet to bring home any pest snails with anything I've brought home from here. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly, good loyalty rewards program and they'll even rehome some if needed (must call first!!) All in all a fantastic LFS!

Great store. Staff have a lot of knowledge and have a great selection of fish. I’ve never had a health problem with any fish I’ve bought there. Torrey is especially knowledgeable and friendly. She goes above and beyond and is a highlight of the visit every time I’ve seen her there.

I've had so much fun and received lots of support from the staff at this store! Setting up my first freshwater planted tank has been very easy with their guidance and I now have shrimp and plants and a well cycled tank that I couldn't dream of having before 💖It was especially helpful to learn how to use water testing kits and when I should be doing water changes!I'm looking forward to getting more plants and fish for my aquarium here in the future.

I have been coming to World of Wet Pets since shortly after I realized they branched off from their original East side location that I had frequented for many many years. I really appreciate having a west side location close to home. I have THREE stores I trust for plants and fish and one online. World of Wet Pets offers a VERY large selection of fish, even salt water and loads of plants, which I've never caught a single planaria from(thank you for that!). They carry everything I need to feed my fish, both dry, fresh and frozen. And, they even have a reward system that I find really great. Mostly everyone is so friendly and knowledgeable. The owner is wonderful and runs a tight ship, so you KNOW the animals are all well taken care of.... Which is very important to me. I breed a few fish which they are usually willing(with ample notice) to take in. So far I have only lost a few nerite snails, but I believe it was due to another company product claiming to be snail friendly, not due to the quality of their animals. As a local and decades-long aquarist I strongly endorse this store. In the past when I've had questions I've had all but one over several years answered incorrectly and I believe that was just because it wasn't widely understood about the fish I was asking about. And that was 4 years or so. You can trust this company. They'll test your water. Tell you what you need. What you don't. They don't try to sell you things you don't need. They're really lovely.Thank you World of Wet Pets!PS the photos are not the best. I'm in the middle of changing everything on both show aquariums, but you can clearly see the amazing variety of plants. There are several shy fish, dozens of shrimp, killifish, three kinds of loaches and a variety of Cory cats that are all hiding in the grass is behind whatever they can hide behind. In the aquarium with the wonder yellows they have agate their space with a family of clown loaches who have a little cave. They live well together and it keeps the reproduction of the killi eggs to a not sustainable level.

Amazing place! We came here to get a tank and fish and they asked us to establish the tank and bring a water sample before introducing the fish. I appreciated that they weren’t pushing for us to buy, quite the contrary, and it turns out the water was NOT in a good place and the fish would have died. They really care!! Everyone is nice and helpful and we keep coming back.

Fish: these guys have a ton off fish! They have three aisles of back to back fish, freshwater, and some saltwater too. Their fish are always in great condition and if they aren’t, they let you know. If for some reason they don’t have fish you want they might special order it for you too :) They also have shrimp and axolotls!Plants: World of wet pets honestly has the best plant selection I’ve ever come across, especially in this area. Occasionally they’re picked over but when restocked it’s awesome! They even have cultures of plants/mosses so if you don’t want snails or want to start with baby plants you can!Supplies: they have everything you need and more, especially if you want a more natural tank. As you can see in the picture with the fish tanks, they have tons of rock/stone/substrate to choose from.Price: As anyone who is in the hobby knows, fish keeping is pretty expensive. That being said, from what I’ve seen, the pricing here is very reasonable and occasionally cheaper than corporate places like petsmart/petco which is really cool for being a smaller business. They also have a fantastic ‘point system’ that actually gives back when you buy stuff. You just have to give them a phone number.Customer service: I’ve read a couple reviews that mention the employees are often uneducated regarding fish keeping. I’ve only had one experience like that here, and it was because the employee was brand new. Other than that, they are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I started going to this place when I was younger and regularly started going about a year and a half ago. They are super helpful to get a tank started or give info on more complex set up’s. They are also always really honest about pricing and often have different options for budget.Comparability: I was REALLY shocked to see that someone recommended “Cayes Aquarium” over this one. I went to Cayes after reading that someone recommended it in these reviews and was really disappointed. Not only were they quite smaller than world of wet pets, but they also didn’t seem to have healthy plants or a good selection of fish. On top of that they had a Betta in a vase at the front desk :(Definitely would recommend to anyone who is wanting to start fishkeeping or wants to add to their collection!!

I lost my fishy fwend. So I went to the store to fill the void in my heart to find a new one who helps me get through my daily routine. They informed me that you can bring I the water to get it tested to diagnose what is going on.I love this store, because everyone is friendly, helpful and they genuinely love to work there because they love fishies.So, there was a tank that had dehomed fish and I picked one out. I got a platy fish and this is my first time venturing away from the betta and Bettakoi breed.He's home and happy, but I don't have name for him yet. Thank you to the sweet store representative. She was very attentive, helpful and coached me through how to set up the pump and everything. I appreciate it. Oh and each visit practically gives you a next time visit visit discount. They're awesome.

Really kind and helpful staff. My boyfriend is super into natural planted aquariums so I did a bit of research and found this spot, they had a great selection of fish and aquatic plants. I wanted to treat him for his birthday so I took him here to buy whatever he wanted, needless to say he was incredibly happy and ended up building a beautiful aquarium!

The two times we've gone there, the staff have been unbelievably helpful and patient with us. We came in today and asked Dillon a question and instead of firing off a simple response to brush us off he asked us a couple questions and took us under his wing. He walked us around the store and got us set up with everything we needed and gave us genuine advice and the whole experience was very appreciated for a newbie like myself. I've been to many fish stores all over Oregon while I wait for my bacteria to establish and have never had such a positive customer service experience.UPDATE: it's been about a week now since I wrote this review. The staff and owner here have been so helpful. They gave us everything we needed and our cycle time took only about 3 weeks instead of 6 and they gave us advice every step of the way.We purchased 5 different kinds of angel fish, a saddled bicher and 3 clams. Eveything they sold us is super healthy and active and we could not be happier with the experience and customer service.

Usually when I call or go in I am helped by someone who’s nice and helpful. Occasionally, someone named Dillon, or maybe Dylan, helps me and he’s very condescending. I don’t think I’ve ever had a pleasant experience when he’s there even when I was brand new to the hobby and just needed guidance and help. I’ll be finding a new LFS to go to from now on. I get better customer service at PetSmart and more knowledge per ounce of effort, honestly. Thanks for the fish ✌️

This is a wonderful place to get aquatic animals and supply. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Can get quite busy at times and run out of what I am looking for, so I always call ahead, since it is a bit of a drive for me. 1000x better than the two major retail chains out there.

If you want to experience snobby aquatic hobbyists this is the place for you. Terrible return policy and don't worry they will come up with some excuse to not refund your money at any chance. Honestly the petco in tanasbourne has very large selection of fresh and saltwater fish, including a coral section which I saw almost none here (in actaully very well maintained tanks), with employees that are very experienced and actually happy to help.
