When we recently had our snow/ice weather event I went to the big box stores to look for a metal scoop shovel with none in stock - Understandable as it was a couple days into this weather (BTW - I do have a spade shovel but it's near impractical with all the asphalt and concrete on my property).Then I went to Ace Hardware because they supposedly had a few in their inventory. Come to find out that the two they had in stock were used to shovel their own storefront sidewalk. They did have plenty of those cheaply made plastic pusher shovels for $31.00. I was beginning to think I wouldn't get an aluminum scoop shovel until Springtime.Then I remembered seeing Wichita Feed & Hardware during my daily commute. I drove there, parked and as I walked through the door I was immediately put at ease by this well stocked, cozy shop. I asked the gentleman behind the counter to direct me towards the shovels and he pointed me to this glorious room full of every shovel imaginable. Seriously. Every shovel. Not only did they have the aluminum scoop shovel with D-handles, but they also had them with the straight handles. They also had steel scoop shovels with D & Straight handles as well.You can tell that this business has been here long before the big box stores were even built. I will go here first before going to any of the chain/franchise stores. I'm thankful that local businesses like this exist.

I went to Wichita Hardware to find the right fitting hardware for my license plate. I received excellent customer service specifically by a young man... Josh. Not only did he find the right fitting hardware, he offered to install my license plates for me. He went above and beyond....thank you so much!...your help was greatly appreciated :))Cindy

This place is amazing. I wish I had known about this place years ago. Go visit it. I walked in there, and there was one truck parked outside, and they were just about ready to close. The entire family looked like they were there. Like, 7 people were all there to greet me. The kindest people you ever met. I was trying to buy a socket that would take a tire off an old school bus. I went to 7 different stores. A guy at Home Depot told me about it. They had the size I was looking for and bigger. I can't wait to get back there and look at everything they have. Just go visit it. They have it all. They were so nice.WITCHITA FEED & HARDWARE. I can't say enough. There needs to be more of those. Great experience.

Needed some straw for a feral cat shelter I built before a big freeze sets in. Employee (possibly the owner) was really accommodating and let me take some scraps home. Will definitely be back for other household needs! 10/10

It truly feels like that one hardware store in a small town in the middle of nowhere, where everybody knows everyone. They're super helpful and very knowledgeable. I have never walked out of there empty handed. They always have what I need.

I wish I could give Wichita Feed and Hardware 10 Stars they deserve all of them! Might have dealt with the owner. Friendly lady was willing to just give me the two 7/8 course thread nuts I was searching for. I had been two ace and 2 big box stores and none of them stocked any hardware larger than 3/4! Seems like a joke right?? but no it's not!Home Depot said they usually stocked it he thought.. but didn't know when they would get supply back in from China. Pretty lame excuse I needed to fix this piece of equipment now, a gentleman at Lowe's suggested I try Wichita Fand boy am I glad he did. I will be supporting this small business from now on. By the way I gave her cash. It cost money to read a credit card I understand that. Hopefully my positive word of mouth will bring her so much business she won't need to worry about credit card fees in the future. If you need something for your garden forget Home Depot and Lowe's go check out Wichita Feed and Hardware you'll be glad you did

This place is fantastic!It is one of a dying breed of independent hardware and feed stores, where the owners (an extended family) are knowledgeable and helpful, and most of the items can be purchased individually from bulk bins.No need to buy a bag of six bolts or screws for $1.50 when all you need is one that costs 5 cents.If they don't have what you need, they can usually order it for you....

Sometimes you just need something... When you need it, you go to Wichita Feed. If you can't find what you need somewhere else, there's a good chance it's here. One of the last remaining family owned / operated "General Store" places in existence. Rough around the edges? Definitely. Worth stopping in? Most definitely.

We were here as a fundraiser for Milwaukee high School football team. The kids were doing a car wash here and I think it's awesome that they gave us their parking lot to let them do it. Please keep an eye out I do believe the next one will be the middle of July or the weekend of the 9th not positive but look for us and come on out and support Milwaukee high School

*******The elder employees here haven’t worn masks the last three times I have shopped here. Yesterday the woman was coughing her lungs out in the office. **********That being said, it’s a great store and the employees are friendly and helpful. There is one younger employee that always wears a mask, if he’s working ask him to help you.

Every stop at Witchita is one less stop at soul sucking Home Depot. The staff is quirky, friendly and very knowledgeable. They have an incredible selection and a great hardware section. You might pay a little more for some things, but it's worth the time save avoiding the trip through the parking lot and isles of a box store. I bet they have what you need.. except lumber.
