This store is clean, well managed and has all the incredible sales you expect from Safeway. This store reminds me of my fond memories of Safeway as a kid and my toddlers love coming here to help me shop! (Even though we do pick up 70% of the time šŸ˜‰)

This Safeway, especially the pharmacy, is a nightmare. Every time I’m here, the lines are outrageous. I was here an hour ago and prescription hadn’t been filled. The guy says ā€œI’d fill it, but lunch is coming up soon.ā€ I can’t imagine telling that to one of my own clients. I have a small child with pink eye, who was with me. And desperately need the medication. Tell him it’s urgent. He says come back in an hour (after the v important lunch). I’m back now, waiting in a line about 7 people deep. There just has to be a better way. This doesn’t even consider the atrocious parking layout, lack of spaces, etc. The last time I was here, I witnessed a verbal fight between customers because one customer’s dog peed in the middle of the store and another customer confronted the dog owner. Finally, the checkout lines are so long! The self checkout is a mess (recent renovations made this a tiny bit better). I could go on and on. I’m done with this Safeway and our neighborhood deserves better.

The staff is usually great especially in the deli, however the shopping experience here has become so bad I would rather spend more money at the new seasons across the street. Today was my final straw ,the prison gate that was recently installed wouldn’t open to let me into the store so I pushed it open, which set off an alarm which prompted someone to yell at me. You can’t even get into the store without hassle. I also want to note if you are picking up a prescription and not purchasing anything else you can’t leave, you have to force yourself past people trying to check out because there’s no normal exit. Management is so worried about shoplifting they’ve completely ruined the store for paying customers.

I went to the Safeway Starbucks today and Tristyn provided the absolute best customer service! He was so friendly and helpful, very attentive and polite to each customer. I can’t wait to return to receive such great customer service and my favorite Starbucks soy chai from this location again due to such a pleasant experience today. Thanks again for the wonderful customer service Tristyn!

This location is dirty and the staff seem focused on the wrong thing. It feels like a prison. You feel like you’re being punished just for coming in. Staff is rude and hurries you. Like putting away your basket, employee comes super close and puts more baskets away after you obviously waiting but not greeting you. What happened to customer service? A creepy courtesy clerk comes up in front of me and my children blocking my way out to fawn over how cute my kids are. Appreciated but please just let me leave it reeks like urine and fecal matter in here. The security guard with the faded purple hair discriminates customers based on gender. Safeway hired a literal crackhead to be ā€œsecurityā€ all she does is vape outside and do nothing.

The way they have all the doors and registers blocked with fences & emergency gates makes this store feel like a prison. I came in the wrong door and couldn’t even turn around and walk out that same door without alarm bells going off. This means my disabled behind had to make my way allll the way to the other side of the store just to go allll the way back across to get to my car that was a few feet outside the original door. What a ridiculous and inaccessible corporate idea that ruins the shopping experience and especially punishes disabled folks. After years of being a customer, I’ll be going elsewhere

I've been shopping here for 10 years and today was the last time. They installed this absolutely insane security system like some kind of airport TSA. It makes the store an absolute pain to go in and out quickly for last minute groceries. The environment is now something out of 1984.I feel bad for the staff who were generally quite pleasant. I won't be treated like a convict while buying food. It's worth the $2 more to go to New Seasons and be treated like a person.

Store can't be bothered to hire cashiers. All registers were closed, forcing everyone to use the self-checkout.These self checkouts seem to have enabled enough shoplifting that they have an automated gate that makes you scan your receipt before you can go to the exit.I don't know how you would get out of the store if you don't buy something.

Shopped at this store for yrs and yrs, never had a problem UNTIL a few months ago they hired a snotty Starbucks worker. I know how I want my drink, I know exactly how to make my drink, I pay for extra whatever. I don't see why arguing with me about something I paid for is an issue every single time I go there now! And it's not once in a awhile with this person, its every bloody time! It's ridiculous! I always say clearly what I want, and say that I want extra stuff on my drink and even pay for it, but NEVER EVER get what I paid for! And when I tell her what I want or that my drinks not right she argues with me! I am just so sick of it!! I called last month and was told the store manager was gonna call me, never did. I'm just not gonna shop there anymore.

You have my word I will never in my life go back to this waking nightmare they attempt to pass as a grocery store.I wish I could give 0 starsI feel like I’m being punished simply for coming into the store. You’re met with gates and fences and guards.A simple task like picking up medication has turned into an agonizing run around the store because they simply can’t let a customer leave through that particular gate without literally sounding an alarm.I guess it’s okay to make someone who cant fully feel their right leg to hobble across a store because of ā€œpolicyā€ here, it seems like they encourage it.It’s uncomfortable for customers with mobility issues to have to go through these extra steps that really impact their day instead of just helping the customer. It feels like a prison, I’ve been followed around by staff several times while shopping . I usually just have a hoodie and leggings on. Like it’s a grocery store I thought they were supposed to feel welcoming, not inaccessible??? What happened to customer service??

They have an issue with produce product quality. Consistent decline over the past 3 years. Tried several times to bring it up to management, haven’t seen improvement. Used to be my main place to shop, but unfortunately I can’t afford to throw my money away. Tried to stay loyal as long as possible.

New plain-clothed security guards are working at this location. They are super weird and spend a ton of time profiling folks who aren't trying to steal. Not every homeless neighbor is trying to steal. Recently one of them kept trying to stand next to me in the checkout line like he was with me. He was pretending to buy a slice of cake. He was talking into his little earphone about how he "had a visual on the perp,". I've seen him twice. He was running through the store today, which seems insanely unsafe considering the amount of older less able-bodied folks who are in the store. There are more than one plain-clothed officer and they are both high-key and seem like dangerous people. Even the store employees look uncomfortable having these two men running around.I feel 100% less safe having them running around the store like they are in the FBI. I bet they have guns and that is a safety hazard to have unhinged men running around with guns pretending like they are in Call of Duty. They are soooo obvious about their activities I've overheard other customers asking cashiers about it. They are so obvious I'm sure they aren't even effective. It's pathetic, sad, and makes my shopping experience unsafe. With all the new security gates in the store this seems absurd and it's clearly making employees and shoppers uncomfortable.

I recently had the pleasure of stopping by the Starbucks inside my local Safeway, and I couldn't be more impressed with the delightful experience it provided! Nestled conveniently within the supermarket, this Starbucks has become my go-to spot for a quick caffeine fix or a cozy place to unwind. The friendly baristas consistently deliver exceptional customer service, making me feel right at home every time I visit. Their attention to detail and willingness to accommodate special requests truly set this Starbucks apart. The menu offers a wide variety of delicious options, from classic espresso beverages to seasonal specialties. Whether you're a fan of bold and rich coffees or prefer something a bit sweeter, there's a drink for every palate. The food selection is also noteworthy, with scrumptious pastries and snacks that perfectly complement your favorite beverage. What I appreciate most about this Starbucks is its convenience. The location within Safeway allows me to grab a coffee while I shop for groceries, making it a one-stop destination for all my needs. The comfortable seating area provides a welcomed break during a busy day, and the free Wi-Fi is an added bonus for those looking to catch up on work or enjoy some downtime. Thanks, Starbucks!!!

i really try not to leave poor reviews, but the store has become a total disaster. This used to be where I did all my shopping and now if you go in and don’t buy anything it takes you 10 minutes just to get out the door lol. Truly badly run, too expensive I’ll be going to new seasons for better products at the same price with cashiers and staff that are helpful instead of rude and completely unaware.

This Safeway is THE BEST IN TOWN (imho)Weve been regular customers for over a year. Every department is on point!Especially pharmacy ,pick-up & latenight staff.Oh And this location is ALWAYS relatively well stocked. You get all the stars.Well done and very much appreciated!ā¤***Special thx to Security :Security went above & beyond the other night.Kids sick, late night store run. In a rush & keys fell out of my jacket while loading the car! (Facepalm)Security helped find lost keys at midnight, in the pouring rain & wind storm, And on a Monday at midnight @closing! (They got stuck in the rail of my seat). To store:Wanted to thank you for the awesome person who helped at pickup last night. I showed up minutes before 8pm and the weather was terrible. I love the availability to text directly with the department No one else does that! The person @ pickup was friendly, organized, attentive, and extremely helpful! In short ,no less than awesome. It was my 1st pick up experience with Safeway and wont be our last. You are far ahead of any other store offering pickup service. Thanks again! With love,From your Woodstock neighbor

Not friendly for claustrophobics. Recently a large fence/security system has been installed where you need to go through checkouts to leave. It makes me super uncomfortable and claustrophobic. I know this was probably put in place due to theft, but it is so incredibly unfriendly I’d rather drive further to a different Safeway.

Just paid $196.70 for 3 bags of groceries (standard grocery items). The price gouging @ safeway has become beyond egregious. For 0%-10% more, do yourself a favor and go across the street to New Seasons, products, staff and atmosphere are far superior.

Store is great. Things are easy to find. 4 stars because the cashiers talk too much and swip like sloths. Stand in line forever.

Re:PharmacyThey do not answer the phone! Have been trying all day. No option to leave a message. Also, they close for lunch and there is always a line waiting. I called the store to tell them no one is answering and they said they would let them know but still no luck getting through. Argh. I am calling from out of state!!(Shout out to Carmen who is the best and has been for many years.)I’m sure she is not the self check clerk with the bad reviews.

You better hope that this store has what you need in stock or else you are laughed at, insulted, and disrespected by Safeway staff when you find yourself empty handed and locked behind freshly installed "loss prevention" receipt gates. It's not my fault I didn't have the foresight to know this store would be out of the one thing I needed. This experience has soured my already wavering opinion of this store. I will not be back unless these drasticly dehumanizing changes are reverted.

Omgoodness I had the best experience with Eric. He worked laboriously for several hours in the pouring rain all by himself. His rates are more than reasonable & he is just an overall sweet man & has a kindness & humbleness about him. I will have him back for round 2 of our cleanup & I am recommending him to all of my friends.Thank you Eric. āļø

This is the first time this ever happened to me at Safeway on Woodstock, I had forgotten my phone and there was a digital sale on Peanuts. I asked if they could help me out with it and they refused. I'm an older person and they treated me like a thief.

PIC at night (skinny white dude with glasses) is the rudest associate I’ve ever encountered. Completely over the top and unnecessary. This store’s managers’ attitudes mixed with the new draconian security system they just put up shows the kind of attitude this store has towards its customers. Plenty of better options nearbyEdited to add: your PIC acting like a petty tyrant is a product of the culture you create with your policies, organizational structure, staff expectations, and exploitively low pay.Take down the fence.

safeway has always had very aggressive, invasive security detail. The ceiling looks like a swarm of insect eyes with all the cameras. and the self-checkout is arrogant and accusatory. But recently they installed new barriers and check-points within the store. Walking from the bustling middle-class neighborhood of woodstock through the awaiting gates of safeway-albertsons is like crossing a border. You're suddenly in a place where the legal authority of the surrounding institution is exerting on your every step, every movement the scrutiny and the threat of apprehension. I've heard a lot from former and current safeway employees that-at least at some safeway locations the employee attitude towards the apprehension of shoplifters strongly skews towards the enthusiastic. Watching customers with hungry vulture eyes as the swarms of cameras buzz around you.I think this location is a great microcosm!!!

This is my local Safeway and has been just fine for many years. They have now installed a set of super bizarre extra doors which require a receipt scan to exit. There is an disingenuous meta-narrative right now about increases in shoplifting, which is being used to create these draconian loss prevention strategies. The outcome is our community feel surveilled and wildly uncomfortable. The actual data from the retailers themselves proves "shrink" is comparable to or lower than it was in 2019 (compares to the 2020/21 years when all had very limited access to retail spaces is not a fair comparison). Shoplifting has been decreasing steadily since the 1990s. I refuse to support a store that is willing to trap us inside the store with strange tech in order to save one or two items a month from being taken.

Bakery is horrible not only did the person who took my cake orders mess up horribly by somehow even after reapeating it three times messing up the pick up day/time she for some good awful reason just straight didn't place the second cake order witch was my son's 1st birthday cake....she told me the wrong price for my daughter's cake and claimed the size would.feed 24 people ....yeah right if each person got a sliver of a piece .... God bless the two workers that where there that day they did their best to rectify the situation but unfortunately their baker needs to get fired cause the cake was so unevenly backed that the cake once cut in half fell apart. The top half started sliding off the bottom part. Wasn't till it did that though did I find out that the filling was extremely unevenly spread and cake was at it sell by date the next day! I'm so upset my son's birthday was ruined!!! Oh and my daughter's cake tasted nasty
