Grooming Rate,Honestly, this experience was VERY underwhelming. I showed up this appointment expecting my past groomed (Jeremy I believe), but instead had a girl who expressed to me she was IN TRAINING. I gave my trust even though I had hesitations with the cost being the same, and the fact when I booked I was told Jeremy would be the stylist. I left my dog anyway.Margot’s haircut is simply the worst it’s been. Her paws are scrappy, her chest is scrappy, her ears are scrappy. It looks like I gave her a haircut. Not that I paid $112 to have a “professional” do it. In addition to that, now, 72 hours later— she stinks again. After her last apt her took her nearly a week before she lost the “strawberry spritz” smell, this time, it wasn’t even a full day. Which indicates the wash was poor, ineffective, and lazy. Her nails are not nearly as short as last time. Her breath is stinky even though she supposedly got a tooth brush.I am so disappointed I can’t even explain. Now I’m in a position where my dog needs a grooming almost immediately. Which is effort for me to take her and drop her off, trauma for her to be left alone at the groomer. And money out of my wallet because Petco clearly struggles training their staff. This is NO hate to the groomer, she is in TRAINING but Petco shouldn’t establish expectations (same, highly talented groomer), and then replace with someone in training, charge the same rate, and also NOT INFORM THE OWNER PRIOR to the visit. I would have cancelled.My past visit, I would have given a 5/5. She was DONE INCREDIBLY and the only reason this is a 2/5 and not a 1 is because of my prior experience.

They do the works for my 50lb golden doodle - wash, cut, nails and teeth. It's affordable and they do a consistently good job. I should note that they have never nicked my dog's skin, which has often happened at other groomers

Hi Everyone!We took our two dogs here on two separate occasions for nail trims. When we got our first dog back, it looked like they had barely touched her nails at all. We were told that they were primarily buffed because it looked like her nails had been trimmed recently (even though they were clearly very long). They still looked very long after the trim, so my partner went back and asked them to actually cut the nails down to a healthy length. Our dog has long quicks because she is difficult to trim, hence why we went to Petco instead of handling it ourselves at home.Anyways, when we went back, they agreed to cut them shorter and they looked better when we got her back. We thought that might have just been a fluke and gave them the benefit of the doubt since we believe we got someone in training.However, I just took our smaller dog here for the first time today and got the same person. He did the same thing and we now still have to trim our dog's nails because it looks like they were barely touched. I assumed that they wouldn't do the same thing again because the groomer recognized me and asked about our other dog. I explicitly asked him to "cut them as short as he could" before he trimmed my dogs nails because of how it went prior.I won't be bringing our dogs back because this has happened twice now. For context, we called ahead about availability for trimming their nails specifically. And I, maybe stupidly, tipped 50% after the second trim because they were polite and I thought they actually trimmed my dog's nails.TLDR: You shouldn't've have to ask for a trim to actually happen at a trim - specific grooming session. It ended up being a waste of time the second time we came.

Taylor S. did such a great job on my little shedding monster. Shedding reduced by 99%! Service was done quickly and was a great price. I was able to book same day, within an hour, and total wait time was less than an hour.

Great folks there. Grooming staff very nice. They missed my call, then called me back. Initially, they could not accommodate my tight schedule but called me back for a second time to fit me in.Also did a great job the bath, nails, and teeth. Thanks yall!

Went in to Petco Jantzen Beach (Portland) today to get my dogs nailed trimmed and teeth brushed. First off two women were working and two women avoided me until I opened the employee only door to let them know I saw them. Then as dry as she possibly could, Kayla agreed to care for Buddy. I went to pay and returned to watch through the window laughing at Buddys reactions, Kayla could. it see me. she attempted once to put toothpaste on his mouth but then took him off the table and brought him out saying he growled at her. Buddy has been getting his nails trimmed and his teeth brushed at Petco for some time and has NEVER growled at anyone. She handed me a toothbrush with toothpaste on it and said I could do it at home. When discussing this with another employee, another male employee chimed in well they don't charge until after it's done. This is NEVER true because they hand you the invoice to pay while they're caring for the animal. I won't be back to this location...EVER!

Cynthia has been Jake and Lila's groomer since they were little. I trust her so much with the two of them. Actually because of the relationship she has with them, the other groomers are quick to see and jump in to be as sweet as Cynthia. I thank you for having her. :)
