The owners were incredibly knowledgeable for all of my question asking. Their stock selection is fantastic and the shop cat was adorable! A gem of a local business! Must visit if you’re looking for good pet food and treats.

I brought in a defective product and was told that their policy wouldn’t allow the return. Aside from that unfortunate news that I would have appreciated an “I’m sorry the product didn’t perform as it said it would”I will continue to go here because it’s close to my home and I like supporting local. Think twice before you buy toys etc. If your pet comes in contact with the item then it’s nonrefundable.

Great little pet supply store in Montavilla neighborhood. We buy healthy dog treats for our store there, and all the dogs love them. They also have a friendly shop dog and cat, which is always a plus.

Always welcoming and friendly here. They have most everything I need for our crazy husky at reasonable prices. When they don't, they are friendly enough to refer to other local businesses who might have what I'm looking for.

The staff was also very friendly and welcoming.I am a mega fan of Freddie Purrcury, and he has to be one of the nicest cats I've ever met (and that's including my own!).Even if it's just to say hi, I definitely recommend you pop in and check it out. Very cozy!

Needed freeze dried dog food for an upcoming hike, went in to see what they had. Lovely staff person, talked us through the options they have there. It was very helpful and they even gave us a few "freebies" for extras on the hike. Our dog, loved them too!!

Absolutely our favorite pet shop in town. They host Portland guinea pig rescue's monthly pig spa, always have oxbow vitamin c in stock, and we get cuddle time with the sweet resident ratties Diego and Jake. 😍Everyone who's worked the counter has so much passion for pets of all kinds, I could stay and chat all day.

Staff is always super helpful. Store has competitive prices and a good selection of pet foods that you can feel comfortable they are going to be safe for your pet to eat.They are always really amazing about returns. If you buy food that your pet just will not eat, you can bring the uneaten bag of food back and they will refund the cost. (You can’t bring back a half eaten bag of food, but if the food has been opened, you can still return it. And also, I don’t think I need to say this, but please reach out to the store to see what their actual return policies are. I’m just leaving a review and I don’t know the specifics of their story return policy)There’s also some cute cats and dogs that live here that are always wonderful to say hello to. (While respecting their boundaries of course)This is a great little shop. I’ve been buying pet food here for years and I really enjoy this shop.

Smaller store with a great selection of high quality products. Due to the top quality brands, the prices are higher than the typical chain pet stores. It's worth it for the outstanding customer service! They're so knowledgeable about the products they carry, the reasons they carry those brands (and not others), and knowledgeable and enthusiastic about dogs (I haven't shopped for other pets). I started going here after we got our first dog and Personal Beast has been so patient and helpful!

The pet store I loved closed down, my dog needs CBG so I decided to try this store. I called ahead & specifically asked for CBG. I remember saying, "I need CBG, G as in good not CBD, D as in dog."The lady said, "yes we have that in these sizes, etc." So I went, on the bus from South Waterfront to their location.When I arrived I was "greeted" with a scowl and silence. After asking for the CBG I was told they don't carry it. So, I'd come all the way for nothing. I decided to look around. Thankfully I didn't have any questions because no one smiled at me or acknowledge me.When I went to the register to buy my things I tried again talking to the employee who ignored me and misinformed me. Silence again, I asked if the dog in the store was hers. Another scowl and silence, until another lady answered saying it was her dog. She was nice and the only reason I didn't give a -2 ⭐ review.I have not since returned and I won't. I don't recommend you to either. Also, the rude lady was very loudly telling the nice lady how people/their customers are so stupid. Because they have trouble finding the place. She went into great detail, it was so ugly.

Cute, friendly shop where you can find top quality and hard to find foods and products for your furry companion. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure if they have items for birds or fish, I was only there to find a specialty dog food. But the staff there are very friendly, very knowledgeable. Quick to assist with anything you need. Also, be sure to say hi to the store cat. He is very friendly :)

The price of dog food here is the same as going to a Petco but here you get to support a small business. They have good quality food and treats. The woman who work here are awesome. I get discounts for having an account and buying the same food over and over again. Plus there is alway cute animals hanging out at the store!

The staff here are always super friendly and very helpful. They keep track of what I purchase for my dog Gunner so when I've had people house that they've just been able to pop in and get what they need. They have also gone out of their way and purchased items for my new chinchilla that they didn't typically carry in stock.

My husband went to your store and noticed you were closed because of the virus and we totally understand! So I told him to call and see if your store had a delivery service or willing to let him pick up at the door. And what do you know??! You guys were able to do it for us!! Thank you so much for your accommodation and flexibility! We really didn’t want to have to put our dogs on a different food but with your help we didn’t have to!I highly recommend shopping here! They stock a great variety of quality products here and staff are always super helpful and kind. They can even order stuff that isn't in stock regularly if you ask. I absolutely love them for having available delivery service, it's a lifesaver! They also rock for keeping their website super up to date with hours and closures.

I found my new favorite store for dog food, treats and everyone in between! Personal Beast in Montavilla is WONDERFUL! So personable, supportive, all the staff have all the knowledge and tricks and even share info on their experiences, answering questions I didn't even knew I had! I'm in love. And love that they are local and have amazing food for pets that are from ethically conscious companies!

Great natural dog food store. A little on the pricey side but well worth it. They have all kinds of unique and interesting treats. Stuff like lamb ears, cod sticks, bully sticks and my dogs absolute favorite, the salmon roll. The staff is very knowledgeable and got my dog on a good diet for her special needs. Also they have cbd treats that help calm your dog without harming them. Just a great place.
