I have taken my dog in three times for a trim and they have done such a great job every time. My dog hates having her nails cut and they somehow manage to get it done. Staff is always friendly too. I'll definitely continue going back!

Our pup Ezra loves Original Bark. He's always very excited to arrive for daycare and comes home very tired. The staff is great and always reports the daily feedback on how he did during his stay.

The grooming is good and the staff are very kind and friendly but I can NEVER get someone on the phone. It's so frustrating. I have to call 5+ times in order to get my appointment. Please please please have someone dedicated to running the front desk! I want to keep taking my dog here but the phone tag is exhausting and I'm just about ready to give up.

Not everyone feels comfortable when dogs are having physical contacts with them. So please have the leashes on when walking dogs please, especially in the parks that leashes are required. Think about more for other people and the community and follow the regulations and laws please.

Original Bark is awesome! We have an anxious lab that took a little time to warm to daycare but now he loves it. He goes once or twice a week and pulls us to the door. It's heartwarming to check the webcam and see the attendants petting and playing with your dog...which they do a lot. We have also boarded our dog here while we were on vacation. He did great and was excited to return the next week for daycare.

Scheduled a wash and groom. They needed to change the day. Ok. So my husband dropped her off and picked her up. They called 55 minutes after he dropped her off and said she s ready. When i got home and saw her i said” did they cut her hair?” He says, thats what i was wondering. Then he says they charged 75.00! What??? She didnt smell washed and fresh either. I called the establishment 4 days later in the morning… no one answered. Called a few more times finally speaking to someone. She said her manager would need to call me and see what to do. I had to wait 10 days for a call back she left a voicemail saying it was past 7 days so nothing they could do. Seriously! I called her back after her 4 days off and left a voicemail and have heard nothing back i called 4 days later not 7 Even hair dressers give you 2 weeks Too bad we paid cash or i would've disputed the charge Watch out! I thought i was a good customer expecting to be treated better. Never again! All they want is your money! 75.00? Really. You're not that good…and a new groomer at that poor poor service.

Used the nail trim services and it was wonderful. My doggo is a rescue and is pretty dog reactive. The staff was so kind and made time to see him the same day during lunch so that the grooming room would be empty.I took a gander at one of the dog play areas and everyone looked happy. There was a staff member inside playing and caring for doggos that are clearly more human inclined, and the rest were happy sniffing and woofing around!

I brought my dog in for a bath and nail filing. This was scheduled on the phone and confirmed when I dropped off my dog. When I picked her up, they charged me for the bath only. I asked about her nails and the front desk person stated that nails were not scheduled. I said, yes there were on the phone and in person. Rather than checking, she charged me for both then went to get my dog. When my dog came out, the women said nothing so, I bent down to look at her nails. I saw that her nails (some of them, not all) had been filed. The young woman rudely stated (rather than apologize for the miscommunication) that they were filed then she walked away and helped the next customer.With all the options for services in the area, you would think that their service would be at least polite!

I had a very unfortunate visit at Original /Central Bark today. We regularly take our 2 year old Golden Retriever here to bath her ourselves. A couple of weeks ago we scheduled a visit with a groomer for today. It wasn’t the typical groomer. We clearly stated when we scheduled that she was skittish with all grooming and they told us no problem. Long story short they washed and half dried her but said they didn’t feel safe finishing. I offered to come back and work with them as it was new for her. They said sure. 5 minutes before I arrived back they called and said they wouldn’t work with me and try that. When I arrived the groomer had “stepped out” although I was expected. They wouldn’t try to work with me and they charged me for a wash and groom they didn’t provide.I understand that even if we had worked together it may have not been a great groom but something better than nothing. I would have appreciated the customer service I expected.I told them we wouldn’t be coming back. The receptionist and groomer seemed very young and inexperienced.Obviously not experienced working with the public.

Our mix breed dog has a long coat which we like to leave long in the winter. Two years in a row when we’ve had him groomed here they’ve done a buzz cut on him which leaves him looking like he’s ready for summer. Last year I said I wanted his length to stay as it was and this year I specifically said I want him left long as I didn’t like how they did it last year. I will not be coming back again. I, as the customer, need to be listened to - especially when I’m paying $100 for a grooming.

I called them up today to see if they had availability to do my dogs nails and Evy was very professional and sweet on the phone!They are following PPE and are having you drop off your dog and stay 6 feet away! Just wonderful.Evy did a great job on my dogs nails! He is pretty awkward for them but when I got him back he wasn't stressed and his long long nails looked short and perfect! Awesome place!

Used my small, eight pound dog in temperament tests with much larger dogs without my prior knowledge or approval. My dog came home with a four inch cut along his underside and no incident report or even a mention from the reception. Their response to bad reviews for the overwhelming urine smell was, not to use enzymatic cleansers but to use harsh smelling cleansers that were so strong I had an asthma attack...that the manager laughed at while I searched for my inhaler. My dog was previously noted in his file as having allergies, common in his breed, to that very same scent family (citrus, orange, lemon, pineapple, mango) and, being so close to the ground began to sneeze and cough uncontrollably when they started using these cleansers... they insisted he had bordatella... I insisted on getting my few hundred dollar prepay refunded and took my dog to a place with a bit more common sense.

This review is long overdue considering how great they are and how much our family relies on them!We've been using their hike service and grooming service for 2 years now. Once a week they pick up our senior beagle and take him on a hike and once a month he gets a bath and his nails trimmed after his hike. Original Bark's staff is always super pleasant and trustworthy - often I'm not at home to let them in at either the pick up or drop off and I trust them to let themselves in. We've never had any issues. Many times when I have to be gone all day they have saved my bacon (and carpet) by getting our guy out for a walk so he can relieve himself (and have a little company for a bit)!!Our dog is also skittish as he was used in medical experiments before he was freed and came to live with us. Original Bark was great about getting him used to them and the routine. Now, our beagle boy knows the drill and comes running to the door with his tail wagging when they get here. I love that they take a photo that you can see on Instagram, too!We haven't tried their doggie daycare but our neighbors use their doggie daycare at times and their dog (and our neighbors) absolutely love it. They were the ones that recommended Original Bark to us, actually.They are a wonderful team to have on your speed-dial to help you parent your fur-baby(ies)!

Amanda was really lovely, but this place wasn’t what I expect a pet grooming or daycare place to be. The whole entrance area smelled like urine, and when I walked in, a staff member was sitting on the floor in the area behind the desk on their phone, totally unaware a customer had come in. Once Amanda came around the corner she was great about making sure I knew where to go and what to do.The self dog-wash station was fine, though the soaps were super watered-down to the point I’m really not sure how clean I was able to get my dog. All in, from a cleanliness standpoint only, I would not recommend this place.

Best doggy day care in town (and we have tried several). Central Bark offers overnight stays, baths, nail trimming, hikes and more. What more could you ask for? We love leaving our dog there when we go out of town....and even better our dog loves it!

Our first time here, we were really excited to try a new place to have our dog bathed. Original Bark was a disappointment due to their lack of customer service and manners. We barely got greeted, the price was outrageous for self-service wash, and to top it all off once we paid and purchased dog treats there was no "thank you" or "have a nice day" which may not mean a lot to you but it means a lot to me as the customer and as someone you'd think you'd like to come back soon to your place business. Once was enough, going to find someplace else for our dog.

I take my little dachshund mix to daycare because he has very bad separation anxiety - the kind that causes vomiting and incontinence and significant physical stress for him. I was so disappointed when I went to pick him up at the end of the workday and could hear him whining in the back before I even opened the front door. When I asked why my dog was alone, they said, "We close at 6:15". I walked in the door a minute before closing which is, I assumed was how their business hours worked. Their Yelp profile currently says they close at 6:30, but that's a moot point since I arrived before 6:15. If I'd known they leave the dogs alone at 6 or whenever he was put in the kennel by himself, I would have been sure to be there earlier. As one girl went to get my whining and visibly distressed dog, I was greeted by another person who wanted to ring me up. I told her I was upset that my dog was left alone and I wanted to know why that was. She was extremely rude to me and said, "Uh, we're actually closed..." but it was only just then 6:15 and I was just trying to pick up my dog. I told her I was leaving and she said, "Good, don't bother coming back". Needless to say, I won't be.

Super friendly and awesome dog day care. I took my frenchie in my profile picture there many times. Staff is wonderful and they even offer a Web cam so you can watch your dog while away if you want or need to. It means they have nothing to hide as you see everything.I also have a senior saint Bernard that had to stay a bit and they took very special care of him since he's old and has a few issues.They don't seem to suffer for customers, but please support this place. Lots of animal business in the Portland area but this one is tops.

We have been using Central Bark Hikes for out tripod puppy for about 6 months now. We love it...and so does he! He comes back tired and happy. The hikers post great pictures of him and they always follow our directions for picking him up and putting him away. I would strongly recommend Central Bark Hikes!

Been going here about 1 year now, mostly dog grooming and occasionally for the doggie daycare. All staff have been pleasant and professional. Our dog loves coming here and she loves everyone. They do a great grooming job, and you can go to either Starbucks or Tryon Creek Grill while you wait.

Our English Bulldog. Tank, has been a frequent customer at Original Bark for years. We can’t say enough about their staff and services- they take such good care of him and make everything so easy, from drop offs to payments. Ben and crew have it dialed! We absolutely love Central Bark. We have taken our two Westies to several different doggie boutique hotels and groomers in the Portland area. Central Bark has it all. Siobhan by far is the best groomer. Our dogs are so excited to come see her when it is time to be groomed. Also, when we kennel our dogs, they are very well cared for. The attention to detail by their staff is second to none. It is priceless to know that our dogs are genuinely loved and cared for.

My extremely furry (and sometimes matted) Goldendoodle LOVES Siobhan, the groomer at Central Bark. Before we found her, he had been groomed at other places and got ridiculous looking haircuts that made him look like a Dr Seuss character.Every time we arrive at Central Bark, he is delirious with joy when he sees her.Siobhan is a skilled groomer and she has a special way with dogs that makes them feel secure, relaxed and happy to be there.

Iku gave our five month old bernese puppy a wonderful haircut today. He looks and feels amazing compared to how he was (a little dirty) when we brought him in. They trimmed his nails, cleaned his ears, and did plenty of other stuff that made him seem far happier than when we brought him in. Thanks Iku!!
