Used to be my go to spot. Was great. But now they're apparently closed to the public "due to flooding that occurred 8 months ago." Guy on the phone said they don't know when they'll open back up and to go to Tandy, which sucks in comparison.

I have returns! I have never had such a hard time getting a return done. But I don't usually do this.I made a mistake, Somehow they sent me 2 pocket books and a wallet. I didn't even get the color I wanted And they sent me to of the same purse. I can't even get a hold a real personThese deliveries were so wrong.I am paralyzed now by stroke, And cannot afford these purses.I'm just sick. Two of the same purse and a wallet that doesn't match.

These people are the best it has been maybe 3 months since I was in there and they greeted me by name remembered what company I started working for and ask how my projects that they last new of War overly helpful Superior knowledge base I love the scrap piles as I'm experimenting and just learning and they're always helpful with a tip or a trick not to mention if you tack for your horses they've got an entire floor that has that too so glad they haven't gone out of business due to covid

About the only place in the big city to get premium quality veg tanned leather. They also have a huge selection of shoe findings but you need to be somewhat knowledgeable on what you want or need. I wish they still had more saddle making and tack supplies upstairs but I can still usually find what I need. Changing times! I've been going there since the 70's and the staff has always been top notch.

WOW! Had to stop by so I could both meet the staff and get a good bearing on what products they carry. The shop I work at often sends customers over to them if they carry things we do not and it was a logical decision to slip over to view myself, as well as get some great reference pictures for hardware ( works beautifully for reference, and love their setup to show all the options they offer).Staff was amazing! Super helpful, knowledgeable on both local leather related events and their products, and I left with a lot of knowledge on both. Especially helpful as I've recently moved to the area and hadn't learned a lot about it yet. Thank you guys, and I look forward to stopping by regularly :)

Despite what google says, this location is still closed due to flooding and isnt scheduled to open until june-september. However, the guy I spoke to on the phone was super helpful and was able to advise me on the beth methods for a project and where else I could go to get what I needed. Super friendly and knowledgable staff and based on the catalogue, a really wide range of supplies and leather for sale! Definitely planning on coming by when theyre open again.

Staff was knowledgeable and helpful. Purchased several hides from the large selection as the store prepared to close. I watched as Abdul the manager personally dealt with a customer with complex and specific needs. I was impressed by his effort and commitment to customer service. His actions at the end of the day showed his commitment to the store, the products and the customers. A+

Not my first time coming here but, it was my first time coming in to buy supplies for my boyfriends projects and, while he did send me with one each of the items he needed, I wasn't finding everything needed. The lady whose name I failed to get (sorry!) was really knowledgeable about their stock and, it felt so good to leave knowing I got EVERYTHING I came in for! My boyfriend was also quite happy!

Oregon Leather is always fantastic. Some of my visits I've come across some relatively gruff sales/staff, but even the people who aren't chatty and chipper are always wonderfully knowledgeable and helpful.The array of materials, tools, and accessories available here is astounding. Not to mention, the prices are darn good. It may be possible to find better prices somewhere - probably online - but this is one precious local business. Reasonable, with a wide selection, and always excellent information available from the staff.Go here. Check it out and fall in love.

Hey y’all. Love this place but these hours are very incorrect. They are actually open Saturday and closed Sunday and the hours just don’t match what their voicemail says.It sucks because now I have to go to Tandy 😭 I would leave a voicemail rather than a review, but their VM doesn’t let me.

I've received some really excellent service and some that's been just okay. It seems to depend on the person and the day. The store has really good purses and jackets, which is mostly what I've looked for. I have a feeling that if you want other, more specifically leather-working things, that you'd meet with the best reception if you knew what you were doing and exactly what you needed to buy. I'm not sure they'd be super happy to talk anybody through a big project-specific learning process. But they might. It probably depends on personal chemistry. I really like the store and return because of the quality and the occasional great service.

The customer service is outstanding. Every time I walk in I'm comforted by their willing to help me in every/any way they can. They were even willing to guide me towards people they know who have leather sewing machines (even though it wasn't going to add to their bottom line ).In addition, they have a wide selection of hides, and tools/supplies for everything you may be wanting to work on.I'm very grateful for their willingness to support the leather artisanship community in Portland.

Unique store that feels like you're stepping back in time. Prices slightly cheaper than Tandy and other online sellers for what I needed. Had to ask for leatherworking tools as most are kept under the counter or in the back, so know what you want or be able to describe it before going. Can't complain about service. Not exactly quick but very friendly and helpful, which to me is better than fast but impersonal. A great place to spend some time or bring visitors to the city.

Of the three days we spent in Portland, The Oregon Leather Company was a highlight. It is a rare treat to find a store that has over 100 years of history and still seems focused in its original goals - to provide leather and hand-made leather products. The store is packed with finished and unfinished leather hides. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable. I highly recommend people stopping by the store!

Great local leather store in the heart of downtown. They've got a great selection of hides and accessories to choose from. The store caters mostly to the bridle and saddle crowd, but they're more than happy to help anyone who walks in. Full range of buckles and rings as well as dyes and finishes.

Originally found this place when I was getting into leather working. They have an amazing selection of leathers, dyes, tools and hardware. After buying a Harley I rediscovered this as the BEST place to buy chaps, pants, and cuts (vests). By far the best prices, quality is higher and as a female, I appreciate that they have women's riding gear meant for actual riding. More then can be said about a lot of big name motorcycle companies whom I shall not name. Want leather saddle bags? Be prepared to pay 1/4 of the price the other places charge you.

Amazing selection, great people who know the biz in and out. They can be stern as the Oregon Doc pointed out, but nothing to whine about or be offended over. Also great scrap bins with lower prices for smaller projects.

The staff at Oregon Leather Company are amazing. They always go above and beyond. This location has a great selection of leather, tools, hardware, supplies, and more. Their prices can be high but the quality and service makes it worth top dollar. They also have a huge selection of scrap and discount leather but be prepared to dig for it. I find it fun to dig around in their discounted stock for quality leather at lower prices. I highly recommend Oregon Leather Company. It is a neat store to browse around even if you don't have specific leather needs.

I have been shopping this store for YEARS. I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars here. There new male employee has made it clear that I have been supporting the wrong busines. This fellow didn’t even know how to use the adding machine. Didn’t know and mis applied store policy. Doesn’t know his products. Absolutely insulting to me as a customer misrepresented the issue that HE created after I was forced to demand a manager. So I am ticked and I leave. I write this post, well another more dramatic version. Then I call and Speak to the owner. The owner, a nice enough fellow, allows me to vent and share this frustration and offers a very heartfelt apology that was well-timed and well received. I will try them again, however I shall never deal with this imbecile again.

I've manufactured custom leather goods and accessories for outdoors people and law enforcement for more than 50 years. The people are knowledgeable, friendly, and full of great ideas. They have great quality at very reasonable prices, and I've never been disappointed while shopping at Oregon Leather Company.

For many years this has been my must visit stop for scale model larimer needs! The scrap bins are the best, and I love digging through all of them, including the ones in the back. Awesome assortment of findings, although most are more suitable for life size than scale, however I've found many upstairs that work as well. Even got a harness diagram from them years ago which had some alternate terms for the various harness straps (my other sources were from the Midwest and Europe).
