So happy with the service here! I called to schedule for just a bath appt as I knew they were booked out until springtime for full grooming appts. When they answered they said they actually had a next day opening and could squeeze my dog in for a full grooming appt. My poor guy definitely needed it and I'm so thankful for how they put me at ease, cause I am an anxious owner of an anxious dog. They took notes and reassured me they have experinece handling anxious dogs. My dog usually barks at masculine people but was totally fine when Ryan checked us in which made me feel calm too. They quoted me 3-4 hours for his appt and texted me when he was ready almost exactly 4 hours later with a wonderful cut, cute bandana and a sweet pawprint ornament.Thank you for taking such good care of my Rex ♥️

Best mohawk ever. I love the service and the job they did, the place is nice and you have several bars and restaurants around to wait. The only downside​ is the time it took but in general I definitely recommend it :)

I waited a little time before posting this to let the dust settle, as I was initially really upset. That being said, my feelings haven’t changed during that time.Having been to HOTD before, I had a pretty clear idea of what to expect and had been happy with my dog’s grooming. She was returned panting and extremely thirsty, but I chalked it up to the fact that it was over 95 degrees out that day. Otherwise, she was fluffy, clean, and it felt fair for $100 given that she is a larger pup.This time around, I specifically asked for a wash, dry, deshed, nail trim, and clean-up of fur around her overgrown legs and paw pads. I even discussed her paws and pointed them out directly to staff upon drop-off. Five and a half hours later, I picked up my dog to discover that while she had been washed and brushed out, virtually nothing else had been completed. I don’t understand how despite being there for over five hours, her paws were scraggly with fur everywhere, her legs were a mess, her nails were the same length as when I dropped her off, and she was once again extremely exhausted and dehydrated in a way I have truly never seen her. It was warm (80 degrees) but she has never had this occur before at any other groomer we have ever taken her to regardless of outside conditions. All of this felt especially frustrating, as I was asked to pay prior to receiving her and was told it would be $150- $50 more than the first time she was groomed there- for what turned out to be much less satisfactory work.As a result, I ended up going to another groomer to clean up everything that I had paid HOTD to do in the first place. When I picked her up from there only forty-five minutes later, she was clean, trimmed up, happy, and not overheated. This was an incredibly frustrating experience overall and I won’t be back, nor would I recommend HOTD in general.

My chow Spock crossed the rainbow bridge 4 yrs ago. These folks did such a fantastic job w him. He was great w people but not dogs. A butthead. The price, washing, blow out, and everything always so wonderful. And the last two grooms poor Spock needed breaks. The groomer gave geriatric care. People if you want cheap then brush the hell out of your dog ahead of time. It's hard work, and that's why you're wanting them to do it. Wish you still had do it yourself. Chief kiss to everyone.

I had a great experience all around. The person on the phone was super nice and helped fit my dog in for a nail trim quickly. When I arrived, they met me right away and trimmed my dog's nails in a jiffy. We'll definitely be back!

Watch her write a novel of excuses and deflect any blame or criticism on every negative review.(edit): you should try to be more professional with how you respond to your complaints, for a refresher look at how Mudpuppies Grooming or literally any other business handles a customer who has an unsatisfactory experience. You are truly scaring clientele away with how you react to customer complaints.

First time to Hair of the Dog and I was really impressed. Their pandemic precautions were appropriate and effective, and they still found a way to make the process efficient. I took my two dogs in for a nail trim and the whole process took 15 minutes. Other places I’ve been in the past year can take up to an hour with you dropping off and picking up your dogs. Price was fair, and they were very friendly. Will definitely be back!

I took my dog here to have them do a full service grooming on him. The cost was WAY more than what I was quoted which was very disappointing and upsetting to me. If I would have known it was going to cost that much I definitely would not have gone. It would be nice if the guy I talked to on the phone originally had given more of an accurate quote. I was quoted $80-$120 and it was close to $200 (they tacked on a $40 extra fee for matting which seemed excessive). The guy on the phone asked the breed and size.They are still doing curbside service and it took a while to retrieve my dog afterward as there were several other people picking up. Also I felt their communication was lacking when I dropped him off before his grooming and it felt rushed (they appeared short staffed).I will give them credit that they did a good job on his grooming but the cost was outrageous and I wish I would have known.**EDIT: I am in disbelief at the incredibly rude and condescending tone that the owner takes to respond to bad reviews. I am well aware of the care it takes having a doodle and I do groom him regularly, I got behind after going through a move recently but I did start brushing him out before taking him in. Please do yourself a favor and stay far away from this business unless you don't mind being talked down to.

They do a great job deshedding, washing, nail clipping, etc. our two Labradors. We have taken our dogs other places to be bathed in the past, but Hair of the Dog is the best in service. I highly recommend Hair of the Dog.

Updated: Hair Of The Dog is a great place for getting a haircut and wash for your dog. I've been here many times and the service is generally very quick compared to other places and they are very friendly.I had one issue here with scheduling that I felt could have been handled better on their end, but I understand it was during the wild heat wave we had. I was brushed aside and felt pretty salty about the situation as my dog was full on Wookie and was desperate for a hair cut. They offered me a wash but would not be able to do a cut. Bummer, but I get it.The owner reached out to my partner and cooler heads prevailed. My only issue was that I was first told I was late to an appointment which I was not. When I showed them the messages confirming my appointment time, I was still told I would be rescheduled while other customers waited after me with no talks of a reschedule for them, it felt odd and I was made to look like the irrational mutant in front of these other customers when I was there at the correct time. They even had me show the text message once they told me I was incorrect about my appointment time.They have my number, and it would have been cool if they reached out to me instead of my partner having to figure things out because I was too salty at the moment but again things happen and the timing was bad.The point of this novel is that they do an amazing job and its not the owners job to hold everyone's hand that might not have the best experience. You will be hyped and so will your dog on the work they do.

Staff was very friendly and professional. The grooming/bathing area is clean and inviting, and it is obvious that they care about safety (both human & canine safety), since one of the doors must be closed at all time so that pets can’t escape. I only used the self-wash for my canine kiddo, and it went fine. I gave four stars instead of five only because of the price. I’m not sure if the cost is line with the market, but it seems a little bit high to me. But I’d probably go back, especially with the Sunday discount!

My dog becomes extremely nervous and uncooperative when I try to wash her. Hair of the Dog provides a wonderful, full-service wash. The staff is very friendly and great with my dog; they assure me that she is a brave girl and actually cooperates with them so I'm happy to hand over the reins! I'll be back once a month

Awesome! We had a walk in gland expression and nail trim. They took our dog right back and she was done in probably 10 minutes. Our pup is a bit anxious, but when she came out she was wiggly and excited (much better than when she has the same services done at the vet). I’d highly recommend.

We're done with this place. We had initially gone there and had good experiences. That was before they stopped answering their phone or returning voicemails. Almost impossible to get through to them. But because we liked them, we kept trying. We finally did get through and made an appointment for both our pups. When we dropped them off, they told us it was a busy day and it may be a few hours before they were done, which is understandable. We then got a call an hour and a half later saying that we immediately needed to come pick up our dogs, because they couldn't get one of our dogs to calm down. He was stuck in a kennel and panting hard, because his brother was out getting groomed. They didn't even seem to try and get him out of the kennel, which certainly would have calmed him down. I can't imagine our dog was the most excitable dog they've ever taken care of. You'd think a place that specializes in dogs would understand dogs behavior. So after all that struggle to even get them in, we didn't even get a grooming for him. Oh well.
