This quaint, narrow and rustic restaurant building overlooks the Nusteca River. The dinning area is on the upper floor. There’s a lift but it was out of order at the time we went. This is now one of our favorite restaurant at the coast. I would recommend the calamari and the paella. Delicious food, great atmosphere, and friendly staff.Wheelchair accessibility: They have a lift, but it was not working at the time we were there.

I recently went to Pikes Place market, and the seafood here was as good, if not better than some the restaurants I tried at Pikes Place. Atmosphere was very cozy, and all the staff was very kind and friendly and warm and provided great recommendations, even though we walked in only 45 minutes before closing. Definitely would come again.

What a pleasant surprise! We rolled in to town after an 8 1/2 hour driveIt is small and reservations are recommended. They are closed Monday-Wednesday, so we were stoked we found them on our arrival, which was Sunday or we would have missed them. The service is fantastic and friendly. The food is fresh and flavorful. It took us a while to decide but we finally decided on house salad, clam chowder, calamari, oyster shooters, and the crab/shrimp Mac and cheese. But everything that passed us looked amazing.

Five dishes and all three desserts were absolutely stunning and perfect. Service was wonderful, gorgeous quiet spot on the river. Do not miss this place if you’re in the area.

One of our favorite restaurants in Pacific City, cozy, great food, wine, cocktails, and friendly service. I had the chicken and dumplings which came in a large hot skillet and was surprisingly spicy but very good! Though I shouldn’t have I ate the whole thing 😄. My hubby enjoyed the mussels which also came in a hot skillet with Thai curry sauce. Bread was excellent. Recommend you make a reservation, especially on the weekend.

One of the best gems in the Pacific Northwest. Recently we have gone back to dining out after a long break due to COVID. This meal was ten times better than the other fine dining we have had in Portland and a third the cost. I don't have pictures of our starters because we were so hungry after a long day and they we absolutely fantastic. We had the Safron Walla Walla Soup and the Fresh Burrata and Grilled Bread. The soup was so good that my wife ordered another cup. We ordered the Rockfish Fish and Chips, the Crab Mac and Cheese with Shrimp, and the Ravioli. The Rockfish crust was crisp and good. The handcut fries were amazing. My daughter said the the mac and cheese was one of her favorite meals of all time. The crab was sweet and the shrimp were huge. The pasta was tender with some chew. Same with the Ravioli. We were all so impressed with all the food that I had to try the clam chowder which was just as good as everything else. After dinner we were so full from trying everything else that we didn’t eat desert. The only thing I could say was that it would have been nice to see something with chocolate on the desert menu. We were so thoroughly impressed that if we are ever in Pacific City, Lincoln City or Tillamook area we are going here again!

I got $30 tacos that had hardly any fish in them. I was served the tacos with zero garnishes, just dry tacos. Server said he'd be back soon with the rest. Over 10 minutes went by and I had to ask again for the rest of the garnishes so I could eat while the rest of my party ate. When asked how it was I said it was very cold and not great, the Server giggled while saying sorry then walked away. Server couldn't answer any questions we had about the menu telling us he's learning it (which is fine but never checked with anyone else to get answers) terrible waste of over $150. Feel like calling my bank to dispute the portion of food I ordered.

Came here on Friday night just wandering through town on vacation, and we absolutely struck gold. Some of, if not the best service and food either of us have ever had. Definitely the best oyster shooters, calamari, fish and chips, AND paella we’ve ever had. Our server (I’m so sorry we never got her name, she had the lighter hair of the two servers that we saw) was extremely professional and knew exactly what we needed when we needed it. We were both extremely impressed, everyone working here should be proud of what they’re doing.

We ordered takeout due to the reviews about limited seating, but we were not let down! My husband had the pozole, it was delicious! We searched all over pacific city to find some fresh, flavorful seafood and the Riverhouse Nestucca was exactly what we were searching for! I had the rockfish tacos, and they were perfect! Great portion sizes and overall a very pleasant experience! Takeout was just as nicely presented as dine in!

It may look unassuming, but you're doing yourself a HUGE disservice if you visit the area and forget to eat here. The place is small, on the second story of a little house - a river house, if I may be so bold (...). They had enough room to serve up to 11 different parties at once. It's cozy with a great view of the river. You almost feel like you're in a train car. The tight quarters does mean it gets a little loud though, and it's a bit warm and muggy.I had the Entrecote which was probably the best steak I've ever had, and my partner had the crab and shrimp mac and cheese since they were out of the salmon. The fresh burrata with grilled bread was a great appetizer. We didn't take pictures of those items because we ate it too fast. The dessert, however, is pictured. Also delicious. We were definitely upsold on the wine. $15 for a glass of wine - the same wine which runs for $30/bottle at the wine shop down the road. Wish we had known that, but we were spoiling ourselves that night anyway. We plan on coming back every time we're in the area. Call for a reservation just in case.

A charming restaurant on the Nestucca River. I liked walking upstairs to the dining room and looking at the artwork. The fresh burrata stole the show for me. The spread on the toast was made with pine nuts and castelvetrono olives and the germolata on top of the burrata was fresh and zesty and unexpected. Our entrees and desert were also good. The entire dining experience was enjoyable and the service was good!

A spectacular meal and a reason unto itself to come to the coast. As good as any fish and chips, and bread pudding as I’ve ever eaten, including many eaten in the UK over nearly two decades. Bravo!

This location was the best surprise on our west coast trip.We totally loved the food here. The salmon was just a piece of art with a savoury crispy surface over a succulent flavor packed piece of the freshest fish. Everything on that plate works perfectly together in a beautiful simple but creative dish. All other orders for my party were recieved very well too. The chowder was a little on the heavy side but very tasty.Service was fast and professional. The business is in a very clean recently remodeled building.

In town for 1 night & we were hoping to have dinner here. I kept calling when they opened to make a reservation as the website suggested but no one answered. We showed up only to find out they were not open. Dinner plans ruined :(

We wandered into The Riverhouse after striking out at Pelican, and we are SO HAPPY WE DID! The costs were comparable, but the flavors far exceeded what we thought we were going to be eating today. The oyster shooters were delectable - creamy oysters with beautifully-crafted house-made mignonette and cocktail sauce. The Dungeness Crab Hush Puppies were crispy and crunchy on the outside, yet pillowy soft on the inside (and you can see the crab 🦀), and the apricot jam was *chef’s kiss* - as was the pimenton aioli on the calamari, perfectly spiced and a beautiful pepper flavor. The service was easy, fun and made us feel at home. We loved feeling welcome and wanted in the dining room!Thank you for a wonderful afternoon, and we look forward to seeing you again!!

Absolutely amazing delicious food. Had the Oregon Steamers and the Paella, both were amazing. Great service too. Would absolutely return. Definitely the best upscale restaurant in Pacific City and surrounding areas.

Terrible experience, would not reccomend. We had a confirmed reservation and they 'couldn't find where it was written down.'We had a party of 12 for a special birthday. We had to scramble to find alternative accommodations. They weren't apologetic nor did they try to do anything but dismiss the 12 of us.

What a treat of a restaurant. The paella was outstanding as was the chicken and dumplings! Lovely little spot along the river with so much going on! Looking forward to our next visit.

This was an absolute home run.He had the beef filet stroganoff, she had the crab mac & cheese. Both dishes were as good as you’ll find anywhere. The filet melted in my mouth, and the gravy had a hint of sweetness and lots of mushrooms. The fresh pappardelle were perfect. The crab mac included shrimp, which were perfectly cooked, and plenty of crab.Servings were large. We had the crab hushpuppies as an appetizer, and they were excellent. The wine list is not large, but more than adequate, with good selections available. This was our second time there. We will be back.

Wr had their crab bisque, mussles and frites, seafood paella, and chicken and dumplings. Everything was delicious! And we went on a rainy weekend so hardly anyone was there. They had a great view of the river, which made the whole meal even better! The chicken and dumplings was more of the southern style chicken stew with fluffy dumplings and it was so homey and delicious! A little pricey but well worth it!

While visiting the area, we got lots of recommendations for this restaurant. To say I am extremely disappointed is an understatement. The food was okay, nothing special and fairly overpriced, but not bad food. The customer service was atrocious. From the minute we sat down our server had an obvious bad attitude that ruined our entire experience. Our group was polite and quiet but it felt like we were treated poorly because we were a group of people in our 20’s (too young to be worth their time). When we asked to split the check we were told it could only be split two ways. When we went to tip, they failed to mention the automatic 20% gratuity that they already added to our table’s bill (it was in small print on the menu which did not stay at our table). I have never been to a restaurant that added such a high automatic gratuity with such awful service. Our drinks were never refilled, 2 of our orders didn’t come with bread like they were supposed to. And overall the attitude of the server was over the top rude. We will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone.Edit:Steve, the owner, handled our complaint seriously and did what he could to make the situation better. While we still wouldn’t recommend the wait service at this restaurant, I applaud management for listening to our concerns and taking action.

Visited in July 2023. We were seated at our reservation time but were not acknowledged or provided waters for 14 minutes. An apology was provided by the hostess, who stated she forgot to write us down so the server did not "know we were here." How can that be the case when this restaurant is only one room and the server has walked by multiple times?I ordered the Coho. The texture of the entire meal - fish, mushrooms, gnocchi - was rubbery and off-putting. It did not taste freshly prepared. My husband ordered a burger, and there was hair in his fries. He requested ketchup, which never came. The hush puppies were overcooked and devoid of tastable crab.I understand that they were understaffed, but it would be better to turn away our business than to accept it without being prepared to offer a good experience. Otherwise, prices here should be in accordance with the quality of the food provided. We were celebrating our last day of vacation by eating out, but I wish I had made a choice to go elsewhere.

I am giving this restaurant five star even though my salmon was served very undercooked. It was our first time eating here, and we didn’t know what to expect. The restaurant was packed, and had a crazy day. They were out of most ingredients, so we got things we wouldn’t normally try. The food was excellent. It was lovingly cooked, and the ingredients were top of the line. We will be back.
