Friendly, knowledgeable, attentive staff made our tandem kayaking experience great for the two hours we spent on the water. We used a penguin paddle kayak. We got a great lower body work out. Saw seals in the river, beautiful landscapes from the middle of the river. Up river about 5 miles. We will be back.

Had a great experience trying out different styles of kayaks on the river and discussing kayak options for sale. Friendly managers and wonderfully helpful. The shop also sells life jackets, glassware, t-shirts, sunglasses, and fishing gear.

Perfect chance to try kayaking with pedal kayak! Staff is very helpful and friendly. Bathrooms right next door. This is an affordable way to get on the water and see what you can't see from the car on the road. This was a highlight of our vacation on the Oregon coast.

Love this place! Excellent service and a great place to take your SUP or kayak or rent one! You can bring your own and have a friend rent one if they don't have one. Public bathroom available as well. Many people fish as well. Shallow clear water makes it a fun place to jump into cool water.

We went kayaking/SUPing 3 times this week with the kids and had a great time. The owners are really friendly and make sure you enjoy your time on the river (everything from choosing the best kayak to take out, to walking you through how to use it). This is a really beautiful part of the Nestucca to explore—lots of birds and seems like a good fishing spot… kayak fishing is on our list for next time. Thanks!

Awesome place for kayak. I brought my dog to try kayak together. The staffs have been very nice and helpful to get my dog on board of the kayak. This was the first kayak adventure for my dog and he was very clam to enjoy the views and wildlife. We surely recommend Nestucca Adventures. We will go kayak in here again if we are around :)

We had a great paddle today with Nestucca Adventures. Everything was easy from getting lifejackets to launching to coming back to the dock after a great paddle. The owners are super friendly and helpful and even recommended a great spot for lunch after. The kayaks are comfy and easy to use. Tons of herons on our paddle! Highly recommend!

We’ve rented from here twice now, it’s been a wonderful experience. The equipment works great and the staff go out of their way to help, very family-friendly. The stillness of the river is so calming and watching the various wildlife from our kayak is something I can’t wait to experience again!

Rarely do I give 5 star reviews but I have to step up and give one heck of a great review for Riley and Amanda at Nestucca Adventures.I purchased a Hobie PA 14 from them in March 2021 and was very pleased. Fast forward to two months later, I was discussing with my wife about getting a Hobie Outback for her to tootle around on the water in. I got in touch with Riley and he informed me they had them in stock but seats were not yet there.The day the seats arrived I had a message from Riley that they were in. While we had not made up our mind yet if we wanted to drop the change on a new Hobie yet, his follow-through was a prime example of great/excellent customer service. The same day my my wife hooked up the trailer and made the two hour drive to pick up a new kayak.Will I head back there? Absolutely. Are there places closer to me that are authorized Hobie dealers? Yes.

You guys are awesome. We drove from Utah because a friend told us about you guys. Worth every penny. It was way fun. I broke my thigh bone a couple of months ago and was able to do the kayak with petals. It doesn't matter what age you are it is easy and a lot of fun. You get to see great wild life on the river and fish jumping around you. The water is just beautiful. The staff is awesome and the owner is really nice. I hope your business goes far. The staff is extremely friendly and they helped us choose from a variety of kayaks. We chose the Hobie single ones. It was a really nice sunny day for December, and the surrounding views from the river were really pretty, with beautiful homes and mountains.

I have contacted the Better Business Bureau for the poor and senseless actions of the owner of this establishment. Myself, my wife, and mother-in-law were just degraded for using the dock near Nestucca Adventures by the owner.The dock states there is a $5 fee. It doesn't state if you should pay before or after you use the dock. We decided to pay after because we were confused if kayaks were included in the fee, there are no instructions. When the day was finished, the owner rushed out and demanded the $5 fee while also invading our privacy in our truck looking for some sort of pay slip.The $5 doesn't matter, it's $5...What does matter is the owners tone and respect for others. The problem is, he doesn't obtain respect. He simply could have explained the issue nicely and had an civil conversation with us. I could not believe how rude he was. If he treats random people using a dock for kayaks like this, imagine how he treats his customers. The disrespect shown by this owner really puts an image on how they run their company. I would recommend never using Nestucca Adventures or their side dock.

Great people and great prices. My wife and I stopped on a wim after lunch and took out a pair of Hobie's. First time in a kayak every. Explained everything and we're very pleasant to do business with. Even invited us to watch the two new hires try their hand at a Stand up Paddle board and taught about them too.

We had our young nephews (2 &4) and a handful of adults. We rented kayaks a couple times during the week and had fantastic trips up the river. The staff was friendly and informative with answers to any question.

This place was great! I read the bad reviews first. So I was expecting something terrible. But the staff was so friendly and it was affordable to kayak for 2! I called before hand to get information and they helped me out so much over the phone and in person. This was a great experience. Would def come back.

Nestucca Adventures crew was absolutely fabulous. This was our first time kayaking and standup paddle noarding. They talked about the differences in all the equipment that was available to rent and how to use them. My wife and I are 50 yrs old and our younger kids with us ranged from 14 to 9 yrs old. They had something for each of us. We ended up renting 2 double Kayaks, one with a peddle propulsion system that was quite cool and easy to use, the other was a standard double. We also rented 2 SPBs for one of our 14 yr old twins and our 13 yr old son. The crew helped us all get started right from the dock, which was much easier than I thought it would be. Getting out was just as easy, but not very graceful. We headed up river for about a half mile before turning back. Everyone learned to control their rides fairly quickly, except my wife and the other twin in the standard Kayak, they had a rough time. The trek back downstream was a little tough, we were going against an incoming tide. As soon as the Nestucca Adventures crew saw us coming back, they rushed down to the dock to help us out of the rigs, again not graceful, but not to difficult. Everyone had a great time, we saw adolescent raccoons, a vulture, and a Red Tailed Hawk while on the river. We will definitely be back again.

I've read the negative reviews and understand that things go south on occasion. That said, I know the owner DJ, and have seen how hard he has worked to satisfy customers, build the business, hire good employees, and genuinely provide a community service. If you are interested in renting or purchasing a Kayak for general recreation or fishing, in the estuary, river, or ocean, this is a very good place to go. I encourage you to check out the business and make your own decision. Thanks JN

Grade A Kayak rentals. Dennis, the owner will take good care of you and help you get the experience you are wanting. You can rent a regular kayak and cruise the area or get a stand up and have a little more to view. They also offer the catamaran so you can go out and get rock fish. Some people even troll behind the kayak in hopes of hooking up a salmon.

I have gotten nothing but five star service from Nestucca Adventures. They have always been helpful to me and to the guests at local lodging property's. They even planned a special tour for Travel Oregon (go see Travel Oregon's article about them) which was well received and really impressed a big name like Travel Oregon on the whole town of Pacific City. They donate time and money to local events, they help the community and visitors by being welcoming and fun! They are not a chain rental place and Pacific City is very rural. It's tough to go on the water in the off-season anyways. And a business cutting back on staff or services around a small coastal town is not uncommon. Wait for a really good day, wait for summer, or ask them for their opinion on when you can go out and I guarantee they will help you. They rent a lot of cool items, Kayaks, tandems, singles/doubles, Hobie's now too which is new so I will definitely have to check those out! Thanks Nestucca Adventures for being open and available to the community and travelers.

Went with Healing Waters, a Veteran's' organization dedicated to introducing Veterans to fly fishing and fly tying. We're placed in two persons rowboat with a rower, who's also in charge. Rowing up and down the river fly casting. Whether they're biting or not, it's a great and exciting time waiting to be had. There's parking and restrooms along with a bait /kayak shop. Also, to the Veterans reading this Healing Waters actively seeks new members, the third Friday of each month from 1000 hrs to 1400 hrs. We especially need Veterans of Colour, be it Hispanic, Black American, Native American or Asian American. The meeting place is on the second flr. In the auditorium. The head honcho is jerry. I'm Terrence and am looking forward to you joining us, did I mention that trips, equipment and instructions are all free. So come on down.

Very rude service. Never will be back and I didn't even get to rent anything out. I came by for my bday the day before the 4th of July. My 5yr old son and I stopped to look at what they had to see what we wanted to get the next day since we are from out of town. I walked up and tried to open the door and it was locked. I seen a big red arrow to go around to the back and somehow missed the closed sign. I walked around to the back and the gate was open. It said to push so I barely pushed the gate and it swung open. I walked to the back door and it was locked. So I stood there with my son a moment to look at the rentals and an old man came out and yelled at me saying I was trespassing and to leave immediately. I told him how I seen the sign to come around and the gate was open. He accused me of forcing the gate open and said I broke in. I left and my son told me I was a bad mom for breaking the rules and I told him I didn't break any rules and the man was bad for yelling at me in a public place that's supposed to be for family. I've never had such a ride experience coming to a store before. He never approached me kindly he just started yelling at me right away. There are cameras then maybe he should see how I barely pushed the gate and maybe they should outline their closed sign with all the stupid signs they have up if they want to yell at customers.

Make sure you pay the owner $5 (or the $40 yearly pass) to launch your SUPs or kayaks if you don't want to be harassed, bad-mouthed or belittled by the owner in front your kids. Yes we made the mistake of not understanding it was a private launching facility but to yelled at in front your other people and kids was highly unprofessional.

We arrived at 2:46 to be told that we would not be allowed to rent as they stop renting at 2:45. 30 seconds prior they let another family rent. Needless to say my 2 kids were very disappointed to experience this heartlesness. We were visiting PC for the day and had planned on kayaking.

Rude , not freindly at all , store has Open sign in window and another sign on the front door saying please use the door on the side that is wide open but they kick you out and say their closed ,sells fishing tackle but doesnt want to deal with people because they dont make enough money selling and people need to stop calling to see if the fish are running ,cause they arent and the fishing suck ! So I was told.

This place is awesome, unassuming yet once you see what it holds for you, it's a good day for an adventure! Paddle, Pedal and Play the day away on the river or in the surf. All the toys you need to enjoy the most of the coast. Check it out and jump in, the waters fine.
