The staff member was courteous, quick, and caring. The store is smaller than Albany's but had many good choices for holidays. Lots of parking, clean, and had a restroom. Reminded me of a perfect small town store.

Made vaccine appointment and arrived 15 minutes early.It took over an hour before we were called up.The girl had a stack of shot trays. So we waited because she didn't care about any stinking appointments and prepared more as people came in. We will NOT be getting shots here again!

Pharmacy will not answer the phone. When I went to pick up my medication, there were 5 people working inside the pharmacy yet, the drive up window was closed for "shortage of staff." I sat outside another 10 minutes in the pick-up parking spot and never got a response. Finally had to mask up (was COVID+) to go to pharmacy to get meds. Was met by rude staff that said I should not be there, I had no choice. They would not answer the phone or provide staff for drive up window.

Tested positive for COVID and ran out of tests. Ordered more tests online, as did my husband. When my husband discovered that the local Walgreens didn't have his order, I called about mine. They didn't have mine either. I have filled a prescription locally before and should have been in their system, but they didn't have my Medicare number. When I finished repeating all the information I had filled in online, the pharmacy person said my order would be ready tomorrow afternoon! I know they're short-staffed, but that is totally unacceptable. After I explained the situation, the pharmacy person said it would be ready this afternoon, so kudos to him. Walgreens corporate, however, is greedy and inept. Healthcare services and insurance are limited where I live, so I don't have a lot of choice. If you have a choice, you might want to use a different pharmacy.

Every single month when it comes time to refill my child’s NEEDED prescription there is always some kind of problem and the staff is always so confused, they never answer the phone you have to sit on hold for hours or they are randomly closed or computers are down.it has been nothing but horrible experiences if you or a child has a medication that is important and needed I would suggest going somewhere else where they can actually get it done in a timely manner. Not to mention the staff is Unprofessional and rude.

Some of the nicest and most helpful people in all of Newport.The pharmacist only needed me to wait for a few minutes. After I picked up the RX she (Jennifer) found a coupon and it to %80 off of the price. That was so unexpected & thoughtful of her. The lines are never long and the cashiers have always been friendly. This is a very good Walgreens.

Reading reviews on this Walgreens Newport Oregon pharmacy on customer service is deja vous with my experience. Ordered a prescription online and was informed to pick-it-up after 10AM the next day. Arrived 5/17/22 after driving 30 miles and the pharmacy clerk told me (after waiting in line 10 minutes) that they couldn't fill it before May 23rd. When I said Walgreens shouldn't have confirmed the order for pick-up or sent me an email or made a phone call with this info the clerk said "you should have called". Really! I said well this is great customer service and she replied "and you're a great customer". Condescending, arrogant, and rude is how this customer service can best be described. If Newport OR had CVS or another chain pharmacy recognized by my insurance company, I would use them. Doing as little business as possible with this Walgreens store employing employees like this is the best I can do.

My husband and I were in Walgreens on Sunday, November 6th, 2021 at about 4:00 pm. There was a very tall young man that greeted me when I arrived, he was very nice and helpful, he also greeted my husband who came in after me. When my husband and I got to the register, the older woman that was up there was changing the trash behind the counter, we happened to have bottled waters and sodas we were purchasing and I am immunocompromised. I could SEE that she was touching garbage, I asked her if she was just changing the garbage and she flatly said “no”. I couldn’t believe she had the audacity to LIE to my face, all the while, a literal gallon jug of hand sanitizer was right next to her!! I didn’t want to cause a scene but I did politely tell her I saw her change the trash out and I’m immunocompromised, all she did was say “right, got it” as she shoved our stuff into a bag with her filthy hands. When she was done bagging our things and was waiting for the receipt, she actually had the nerve to reach over and SANITIZE HER HANDS! I was so furious!! We went somewhere else and bought drinks, I will never ever spend another red cent in that store!

I hit my end with Walgreens pharmacy today. The staff is always kind and helpful but it's become obvious that it's run poorly. It's run so poorly that 70 percent of the time it's closed for staffing issues. Today it was closed again.My experience says that staffing problems are the result of poor management.Get it together Newport Walgreens.

It's not the pharmacy staff's problem that they are so short staffed. The staff are all very nice people just harried and get constant negativity from customers who have to wait days to get anything filled. When you see the pharmacists it looks like they are working their tails off. Between long lines at the drive thru and long lines in the store, no wonder the staff sometimes gets a little short. When they say something will be ready in 3 hours though it's often three days. Their location is a perfect storm- they are closest to the hospital and most of the doctor's offices in town. Switch to Rite Aid at the other end of town. No harried, harassed staff, no long waits. When they say something will be ready in an hour it's ready. They answer their phone. The prices are no different from Walgreens and better on some things. I like the people at Walgreen's but whomever is in charge of staffing should be fired. Rite Aid is heaven. Walgreen's regular employees and cashiers are angels.

The pharmacy is slow, and rude. The cashiers at the front are too busy yelling at people and talking over the customers to listen or help other people. I will only go here if I absolutely have to. But they are surely terrible at all forms of customer service.

Walked in for 10 SECONDS and the Hispanic lady running the front counter had the most atrocious behavior! My bf walked in all dressed up ready to take a passport photo and kindly said “may I get my picture taken?” The woman (might I add staring down at her phone popping bubblegum) barely looked up to only say, “NO.” Absolutely no greeting, zero facial expressions, and no context as to why he couldn’t get a photo. My bf had to prompt her on why he couldn’t get the picture; To which she replied “only at 9:00am.” Didn’t even say have a nice day, and then went right back to staring at her phone as if we were never there. Won’t be coming back 🤮

Much better experience here than in Lincoln City. Not the fastest but not having it drive through only made it a much smoother process. They worked with my doctor to get a prescription expedited so I was able to get my scheduled procedure done. Lincoln City flat out refused to fill a needed prescription even after speaking to my doctor's office.

Surprise surprise another negative review about the pharmacy.I often show up during their randomly scheduled lunches to fill prescriptions. You can usually find the staff lazily strolling in while sipping their drinks about 5 to 10 minutes after they're scheduled to be back open. Today the lady told a group of about 10 of us waiting for them to be open again that "just so you guys know we will NOT be opening up until 2:10" we were all being patient and it was 2:08 not sure what the hostility towards the customers were for.One thing is consistent with all these reviews people post;These people lack, customer service, respect for the general public, proper managment, have no set schedule to adhere to, have zero empathy...Go to fred Meyers

My husband went in to pick up a subscription and stood in line for ten minutes and waited, being completely ignored, while someone drove up to the drive through and got instant service. When my husband was finally helped, he asked the lady behind the counter why he had to wait so long and why the drive through person was served before he was (he heard the drive through person talking to the customer and saw her get the other customer's prescription) and the lady behind the counter straight up lied to my husband and told him in a very rude tone of voice that they hadn't had a customer in the drive through for over a half hour and told him he didn't need to have an attitude about it. He told her he knew they helped the other customer because he heard it clear as day and the counter lady proceeded to tell him that she could just have him permanently banned from the store if he had a problem.This pharmacy has almost consistently given less than satisfactory service and I would give this place zero stars if it were possible. We are transferring our scrips to somewhere that doesn't treat us like we're wasting their time.Also, their text service is supposed to notify you when your scrip is ready to pick up, but is almost never actually ready when you arrive :(

Picking up a prescription from this place is a nightmare! I had to wait for 4 hours with sick kids int he car and go through the driveway 4 times before my kids 2 scripts were ready because the website between Samaritan and walgreens is bad and the doctors can not directly communicate with the pharmacists which to me is a little worrisome! What has this world come to? The pharmacist that was working heard my kids crying and told me that he was going to call the cops on me of I didn't get out of the drive through after waiting all day to get their medicine! This place closes down randomly! Walgreens is a corporation and they should pay to send help! Where are the corporate store manager who should be coming in a fixing things?! Go here if you want to have a prescription nightmare and wait all day for a perscription!

Don’t use the photo service. I went in to pick up my picture I had ordered through the mobile app, I had my 18month old in my arms and the woman who was supposed to be running the photo desk was taking passport pictures of a customer. The “ attendant” looked at me several times over the course of 5 minutes and telling stories and laughing with the customers she was helping, THEN said the photo counter was closed and asked if I was there for a pickup! 5 Minutes!!!!!!!Do not come here if you’re needing services.

Horrible customer service. Was traveling through town and needed a charging cable, stopped in and was immediately turned away. Now I understand it was within 10 minutes before they close and he was closing ealry but it was the way we were refused. He was incredibly rude and treated us very unkindly.

Denied me access to medical care. Had an appointment scheduled for over a month and they canceled it day of appointment. I had to scramble to get my shot because I had to have it within the next 3 days. Drove 2 hours there and back to Salem for my medicine. Horrible.

They sat on my prescription for 2 days without filling it. I work 50 miles away and left work early to be there early enough to get it, then was told they still hadn't filled it and to come back again the next day.

Newport Pharmacy is ridiculously slow. It takes at least 20 minutes going through the drive-thru just to drop off and equally as long going inside. Customer service is non-existent and very unfriendly. Hire some people that are happy to have a job and have more staff!

This pharmacy is absolutely ridiculous ! They post that they are out to lunch from 1:30-2:00, so I go in at 2:15 and OH! that day they are not going to be back until 2:30! I have planned my day around picking up my prescription, and 2:30 will not work. Have to wait another day, since I DROVE 16 miles to pick this up! Also, they are so slow in filling prescriptions. My old pharmacy would have it filled within an hour. Walgreens says won't be available until the next day! This is out of line, and Walgreens needs to step up to reality and have people's necessary prescriptions filled ON TIME and available for pickup at any time during the day!!!

I went in to pick up prescriptions they said were filled three hours prior. Upon arrival, one prescription was not available because staff said insurance didn't cover three months even though script was correct and insurance themselves said three months was covered, my insulin needed and covered was changed within three hours and not covered any longer as well as my wife's prenatal vitamins. When asked, staff becomes defensive and calls manager who says nothing but that I might have mental issues because they can't get a prescription filled right. If I did have mental issues I wouldn't go here for my medication because they wouldn't be able to get that right either. And, unsurprisingly, this is not the first time this type of behavior happens here. Unreliable and unprofessional.

I truly don't understand why this place has such bad reviews. I have gotten to know many of the staff over the 4 years of shopping here. They've been great the GM has even gone as far as to special order me items at my request to not take stock from other shoppers.I have seen some turnover here, but that's to be expected in retail stores

Recently had a mix-up with prescriptions for my Dad following a major surgery of his. Not the pharmacy's fault at all, this was a mistake made by his hospital. However, this caused he and I a LOT of stress as I don't live in state and was preparing to leave the next morning. We were not easy to deal with. He was in pain and angry/rude to the Walgreens staff. I was mid-panic and not much help in calming him down. Despite our behavior, the pharmacist and the rest of the team here went above and beyond to make sure my Dad had the necessary meds he'd need for recovery. Huge thanks and happy holidays to this great team.

This pharmacy is god awful. I worked as a floater for another pharmacy nearby and getting a hold of them for medications that my patients need was almost impossible. After waiting on the phone for over 25 minutes, I called the store on my cellphone to ask why they weren’t picking up and I was transferred to the pharmacy and they answered right away. Makes me think that they purposely do not pick up phone calls because I was still on hold at the pharmacy while they picked up my transferred call. Once I got on the phone, whoever picked up was completely rude and not helpful at all. My recommendation would be to avoid going to a place that clearly does not care about their patients nor customer service, especially if it’s a medication that you really need. If you really do need to get a hold of them, call the store first.

I am so grateful for this pharmacist and the assistants in this Walgreens..we evacuated from a fire and in the confusion, left the bag with my husbands meds behind..I called in a panic when I realized and they had only 1 hour till closing with being shortstaffed. The pharmacist, I think his name was Jerry, was right on it and said be here asap. I was so impressed by this staff clearly put in a sticky situation with hundreds of people swarming in from evcuations!!
