I love Oceana Natural Foods Co-Op, it's been a staple for organic fruits, veggies, cooking oils, bulk food items, and so much more since my childhood. If you're hungry for lunch, check out their hot food bar, they have several delicious selections of salads, casseroles, pizza, soups, scones, cookies, hot coffee and hot water for tea. It's a nice bridge when the Saturday Farmer's Market is closed for the season, from November through April. A welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff might just encourage you to become a member, where your voice matters.

Awesome place. Great selection would've been a 10-star. However, my sour cream and my salsa were opened, and there was no sanity seal. Unfortunately, I was traveling, so I was unable to talk to the shop about this incident.

Nice selection of groceries. Due to my food challenges I couldn't eat off the food buffet but it looked good.Respond: I should have said 'hot' food buffet.Salad bar was ok but not what I wanted at the time. Again.... hot buffet looked good but due to MY food challenges I couldn't enjoy.

Really nice organic foods. I have celiac disease, and their are many items to choose from. A must do when we are in Newport. The store is well kept and very clean. There is a great salad bar and hot food bar.

Good evening,We really appreciate the store as we are vegan and thankful for the many options.I feel called to reach out as we believe energy is a huge part of a positive shopping/working environment.Last week we came in and were greeted by a smiling woman at the cash register. It was refreshing as most visits feel dark and uninviting at the front. Today I came in to the darkness commonly presented. No welcome, joy, openess ... Then upon leaving, I observed the same cashier near the front door in a cloud of smoke appearing like a desolate homeless soul. Sorry for her, but..It can be such an amazing change for all to present welcome, joy, love and togetherness.Hoping and believing you can make changes in this direction.Shine on.

I used to volunteer here. The attitude stinks. The smugness I just could not deal with. Not as a volunteer or a customer. It's been a lot of years since I went in, and I tried the other day. I got a snotty little girl and a woman who didn't want to get up from her chair to show me where something was, even though I use a cane and clearly was struggling for what I needed. You know who you are.The moral has not changed. Not one bit.

Have shopped here for years, love the hot food and salad bar! Miss the days of regular pizza but the soups and wraps more than make up for the loss. I've found a few items here I couldn't find anywhere else, food and utilities both.On a few occasions I unfortunately have had less than pleasant interaction with different clerks- twice having attempts to lighten the atmosphere met with solemn and off-putting silence... However there have been plenty of good interactions to balance the scale. It is a very busy place, often with customers suddenly lining up out the door, and I understand the public can be touchy as ever (self included!) so it is all understandable.Overall I would absolutely recommend this store and encourage you to stop in and check it out, just be aware that different times and days may leave you a slightly inconsistent impression.

We got here right when they opened and there was only one other person there, so that was awesome as we are social distancing and using our N95 masks to avoid covid. The cashier was very nice and you could tell the store was taking precautions which is appreciated. The Shop itself is very cute, a little bit of everything. We enjoyed the beautiful fresh produce. Really glad there was a nice organic grocery store so close to where we were staying. Two thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻

I do not ever leave reviews. I have worked in the service industry all my life, I understand people have good days and bad and the 10,000 other circumstances that can affect someone’s mood. But I just went here and the lady at the register would not even say a single word to me. I wasn’t trying to small talk, just regular human hellos and thank you’s. Extremely off putting. “Edit” there was also a huge clump of hair in my peanut butter noodle salad thing.

What a wonderful little store. A local favorite it seemed. Very relaxed and homey feel. Lots of unique herbs/teas in bulk as well as a large section of other bulk foods (grains, flours, nuts and seeds etc.) small produce department but what they have is organic and very delicious. Went in for some fruit and left with new snacks I didn’t know about, bulk herbs and seeds. Even got birthday cards for a few friends. Customer service is good. Very sweet and loving people.A definite gem in the town of Newport.

Lucky to have this little store in Newport, only one of its kind in the area. Delicious hot bar and brewed organic coffee and herbal teas. Dry goods are a bit pricey compared to the big boxes but reasonable for a convenient small store where you can be in and out in five minutes.

They have a small selection of great items that I love and look for. All the employees were really nice except the girl at the checkout. Would hardly speak to me, she sounded miserable, and made the interaction really unnecessarily unpleasant. If not for the checkout girl the experience would have been lovely.

This is a tiny place with a lot of content! There's an amazing variety of food, supplements, bulk items, and even healthy snacks and a lovely salad bar! Everyone there is very helpful and seem happy to be there, which is really a nice change from grocery store chains. They have memberships for discounts, but it isn't required. They also offer discounted memberships based on your situation. This place has a homey healthy atmosphere.

Oceana is a WONDERFUL place to shop. They have interesting Gluten Free products like frozen GF donuts by Katz Bakery that actually taste like really good regular donuts and GF frozen pie crust.They have a really good bulk section that has Pamela's baking mix as well as lots of different kinds of flour. Also, honey and maple syrup are available in bulk. They have quite an extensive bulk tea and seasoning area, too.The help are all friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They serve great vegetarian hot food til mid day.Produce is displayed well and is fresh, with a good selection. They also offer lots of packaged, refrigerated, fermented, and quick on-the-go foods.Other offerings include candles, greeting cards, books, calendars and other gift items.You can meet neat folks there and check out the bulletin board for community info.Oceana offers a wonderful shopping experience

This place is GREAT!!!! It has a good selection of organic grocery items, plus a HUGE bulk section-which I ABSOLUTELY LOVE!!!! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, and they don't look at you oddly when you bring in your own containers for purchasing bulk items. My only feedback on their bulk section is that it would be helpful to have a few more small/mini metal scoops for the bulk spice section. I brought in my spice jars to refill them, which only have an 1-1.5" diameter opening. The size of scoops they have in the bulk section were too large to use without spilling spices all over the counter in the process.The prices throughout the store are normal for an organic co-op, especially considering we are on the coast and it isn't in a huge city (although Newport is the biggest city in the area.) Honestly, this store is much better than the co-op's I had been going to in the cities I lived in for 20 years (Portland and Medford) before moving to Yachats 6 months ago. I am thoroughly impressed, and make trips to Newport just to go to Oceana Food Co-op!

It's very small. They don't open till 9:00 and they close by 6:00. They have a nice lunch offering but only on the weekdays. Of course they have food offerings grab and go and groceries. They have a lovely staff. It smells good it feels good to be there

From their freshly made cookies to their gluten-free doughnuts, my family and I love shopping here. It's been a regular stop for us for years. They have a membership program, for a fee, that does allow for some reduced prices on select items. Their staff is active, helpful, and the shelves are kept well stocked. It doesn't feel cramped while you're looking around shopping. They have bulk grains and kombucha on tap also.

A small town version of whole foods. The manager is amazing and they carry a few local artists hand bags and other stuff. It small but a wonderful place. They also take ebt or also know as snap. Their hot meals are good. They have a lot of good breads and fresh veggies. All good to eat ...

Please read!! I would give this natural grocers an excellent rating, based on my experience visiting the store on November 30, 2019. The younger woman working the register at around 5:00pm had a positive, genuine demeanor and was extremely helpful.(there was also a guy working there too who had great customer service) I felt the energy of the store was positive because of how great their customer service was.I had the opposite experience at the store on Monday December 2, 2019. Not being from the area and on vacation, I decided to go back and buy some essential oils as a sovereign.(plus I had such a positive experience the first time) I asked this mature woman(who worked there) about the oils, and she acted like I was a complete inconvenience to her. She treated me the customer, with little dignity or respect. To the point I was holding back tears, and wanted to speak with a manager. I didn’t want anyone to be treated the way I was treated. I really hope, she took care of the situation. When I think of the values of a coop, I think of equality, democracy, and the right to be treated respectfully. Those values where represented on Saturday, I wish I could say the same for Monday. I’m writing this so hopefully change is made and everyone can have a good experience.

I love Oceana Natural Food store. If I ever had to leave Newport Oregon I would miss this store above anything else in this beautiful city. Never have I loved a grocery store more than this one. Thanks to everyone who runs this store for providing good healthy food and products. You are amazing.
