It was an awesome day! The booking was easy. The crew of the spindrift were awesome! They made sure everyone on board were safe, and had a great day! Thank you 😊 it was an amazing week of tuna fishing! Captain jerald, and Travis put on 35 fish on Tuesday, and 50 fish yesterday! Some of them were 30+ lbs they work so hard making sure we are safe, and have a great experience! Can't thank them enough! The Spindrift crew did it again! They put us on big halibut! We had our limit by 1:30 pm. It was my first time catching halibut, and I caught a 38",and a 32" it was an awesome day! Everyone on board took home a limit of 12 crab! Yummy! Can't thank them enough! Did a half day bottom fishing trip on the Miss Raven, great day on the ocean, everyone went home with five seabass! Captain, and crew were a lot of fun! Limited early. Another great day fishing on the Spindrift! Jerald, and Travis are amazing! So much fun to be around. Caught a 23# lingcod great fight! Ocean was better than the forecast! Can't thank them enough. It was an awesome day on the ocean yesterday, aboard the umatilla 2 the lingcod bite was awesome lots of 30+" fish were caught. Almost every one went home with a limit of fish, and 7 crab apiece! Another great day on the Spindrift! Lingcod bite was on, everyone took home two nice lings, and five seabass, and a couple of crab! Captain Jerald, and Travis did a great job of making sure everyone was safe, and had fun! Awesome job! Thank you! Another great day fishing with the crew of the Miss Raven! We all caught limits of lingcod, and sea bass! Caught. My personal best lingcod it was a monster! Would like to thank Newport Marina store charters for all their hard work! Captain Jack and Pierson did a great job getting us on the fish. We had a great half day hitting the rockfish and lingcod and ended up taking home 30black bass and 5 lingcod. The half day trip was worth every penny and will definitely be doing another trip next time I’m in the area. Highly recommended.

I just got back from Newport (End of March 2024). We went out with Matt and Mike for the 1/2 day Ling Cod. I have been out many times and this was by far the best trip I have ever taken. The bar was rough the morning we went out and Matt did a great job smoothing out the ride. Once we were out, he got us on the fish! We had four in our party and we limited out on Ling Cod. I think almost everyone on the boat did. Mike (and Matt) worked hard to keep our lines in the water and were always right there to help land fish and fix our gear. Best experience I have ever had! And when you get back, they have it all set up so you can get your fish processed - and that guy did an awesome job as well. We filled a cooler with fish so we are stocked until next year. Bring some cash and tip generously, these guys deserve it. See you next year and thanks again for a great day on the water. Cheers!

I cannot say enough GREAT things about our experience with Yaquina Bay Charters. Beginning with the booking and all my call backs to get just the right outing for our group to the check in process and finally to the best part- the boat -Umatilla ll and the outstanding staff. Our boat hand just happened to be the owner, Brad and his wealth of information and great attitude was so much fun. We even got to chat with his lovely wife Courtney. Truly great people. We went on the charter at a perfect time. We all limited out on crabbing. And the guys doing the cooking and cleaning at the end are spectacular!!

We went out on the CrackerJack with some family visiting from out of state and had a great trip! Captain Jack and Tyler were so nice and helpful. We did the half day rockfish trip with crab and got loads of both. Would highly recommend...I hope to go out with them again! It was great to have the option to have them clean the fish and crab.

We’ve been twice now and everything is always amazing! The crew is fantastic and the fishing was great. Don’t skip the opportunity to add a crab pot. The rock fish make out of this world fish tacos and we will be eating crab meat for days. And for the icing on the cake there was an up close whale visit.

Absolutely the best! I've been hesitant about going out on a charter in the ocean but the desire to catch some rockfish won out. I am so glad we booked with Captain Jack on The Crackerjack. He and his deckhand Travis made our trip ! They were funny, friendly, knowledgeable and I felt very safe. The 3 in our group all caught our limit of rockfish fairly fast ( the while boat got their limit) and my neice hauled in a very nice lingcod about half her size! Thank you guys so much

Umatilla II Captain and crew,Troy, Brent, Brad, Doug, Robert were the absolute best captain and crew very friendly they worked really well together keeping all the lines from tangling and keeping fresh bait on the hooks even switching out lures. The 8 hours needs to change to 10 hours though. Just as we were getting into some bigger lingcod the trip time was up, but we did really well despite the short run, but could have done even better possibly!!!I would love to see you extend that trip to 10 hours and we all said that we wouldn’t even mind paying extra. Best fishing trip ever!!!!!Thanks againFish On,

We had a great day on the Gracie K, the captain and deck mate worked hard to get us into rock fish, and although we didn't limit out everyone on board caught fish. Twelve of fourteen did the crabbing pots and we all limited out. We had fun and enjoyed the company on board.

We hand a blast on the spindrift! We limited out on fish within 2 hours as well as crab. We went out first and farthest and came back loaded. Gerald knows his business for sure. Deckhand Travis was amazing, polite and very accommodating. This crew comes highly recommended. We will be back to continue our family fishing tradition!

Went out on the Gracie K with Cap'n Shannon and his deckhand Troy on 4/13/23 and had an incredible time. Instructions about everything from arrival and parking to pulling fish out of the ocean were very clear and easy to understand. There was enough instruction that new fisherman like myself could have a great time and successful trip. Despite having a nearly full boat, it didn't feel crowded at all.The Captain is a very skilled fisherman getting all of us safely to the spots where the fish were begging to be caught. After arriving at each "fishing ground" the captain would inform the boat that the fish could be found directly beneath the boat and to drop our lines down. Sure enough, "fish on" could be heard from folks all around the boat. The deckhand, Troy bounced all over helping pull each fish into the boat to keep everyone safe from potentially hazardous flying fishing hooks.This was my 10 year old son's first ocean fishing trip. He caught 7 very nice sized black Rock Fish, sometimes, reeling them in 2-at-a-time. I also caught enough Rock Fish that I lost count, including 2 "coppers". I was even able to pull in a very nice sized Lingcod.Seven of us opted to add crabbing to our trip. If you opt for crab, be prepared to help pull those pots out of the ocean. They are a bit heavy when they're full of crab!Upon arrival back at the dock, the captain loaded each fisherman's catch onto a cart to bring up to the "cleaning station" where you can claim your bounty. At the cleaning station, there are pair of very skilled individuals that will clean and fillet your catch as well as cook/clean your crab if you like. Did I mention how skilled these gentlemen were? I've never seen a fish filleted so fast and with so little waste. IMO, this service is well worth the added cost.We almost booked a second day, but decided to hold off for a couple of weeks so we could have time to eat all the crab and fish we had just caught. Can't wait to go out with the team at Yaquina Bay Charters again in the near future. I'm still feeling the excitement of catching so many fish! What a great day out on the water. Thanks again. We had a wonderful time and caught more fish than we can eat! I would definitely suggest taking motion sickness medicine BEFORE the trip if you're not used to huge swells. The staff was so kind and helpful! highly recommend!

Yaquina Bay Charters were great! My son and I went fishing and limited out on rock fish, caught some ling cod, and did great on crab. Capt Shannon kept us on fish the whole time. Great trip.

The Captain Gerald and his Crew were Super Awesome! My Uncle and i had a great time. We caught our limit on Rock fish on the afternoon trip within a couple hours. We missed out on Ling Cod although there were others that caught several of them on the boat. We made out Like Bandits on the Crabbing.All in all a Great experience!All be back!

As always, we had a great time on the Crackerjack. We went out rock fishing and crabbing twice this week. Fish were a little stubborn on day 2, but we found them and had a great time doing it both days. We have 3 kids between the ages of 8 and 10, and the crew has more patience for them than I do. They really work to ensure we all have an enjoyable time. My only complaint would be Captain Jack's sense of humor. We can all hope that someday he'll actually be funny.

Great charter to fish on! Very attentive deck hands, captains are interactive. We've fished with 3 of 5 of the fleet so far.Today we went in the Crackerjack and Jack & Dylan were amazing. Thanks for a good time !We even got to see 4 sharks in action today.We all limited out on Halibut.

These guys really know how to find the fish. Been fishing with them twice this summer and always caught enough fish to cover the cost of the trip, and always had a great time. I highly recommend them for all your fishing needs!
