I love this Safeway! Compared to others in the area, they have THE BEST customer service. I have never seen a more fun atmosphere with people who truly love their jobs like this specific Safeway. I went in on Saturday and they were singing a beloved cashier Judy Danielson Happy Birthday from the Floral Department pager. Talk about family and what a fun place for any one to work who is looking for a job with great benefits too!

Unfortunately, this situation is getting too often. i have been a customer for a long time my wife and I have been noticing the lack of the quality of the product and the freshnessIt was the second time that I purchased eggs here and was bad, very back. Most of the dozen eggs were rotten, and that is unacceptable. I hope they see this and immediately fix this issue

I purchased flowers for a team banquet to decorate the tables with and the employee in the floral department was so helpful and helped me pick out simple, classic, seasonal flowers for the event. They turned out great and perfect for the banquet

Always people and boxes in the way nobody seems to care or try to move them. Over all with the exception of one or two the staff are unfriendly shopped there for years not so sure I want to go back

This is the only Safeway i have seen that has no fresh, hot coffee. 😨I wandered aimlessly for about 10 minutes in search of a morning cup of joe, without anyone asking me if they help me find what i am look for, which is another peculiar thing i noticed about this safeway.In the end, after 2and half laps around the store, i asked someone. They blamed Covid, which was actually no excuse considering there is coffee at every other Safeway now for years. It seemed like a very bad excuse! Most disappointing Safeway yet i was trying to get a coffee and lunch for work today, but i guess not! Had to go down the street for coffee, to a gas station, where i guess for one, there is less covid(??), second they know how easy it is to make a big pot o joe, and third, they dont offer lame excuses in exchange for their shortcomings.

The cashier took my bags walked around the counter and put them in my cart knowing she wasn't gunna get a tip. I wanted to speak to the manager to tell them to give her a pay raise so I looked at her name tag and she was the manager so I guess they where short handed and she was filling in.

I regularly purchase pies from the bakery. Recently I purchased a chocolate cream pie and specifically asked one of the bakery employees if the whip cream on the pie was real whipped cream because it looked different than the other cream pies in the case. The employee assured me that it was. Unfortunately she was wrong. The topping on the pie was terrible and literally inedible. Now I am out 13 bucks. Why would you tag a pie as made with real whip cream when it is not? Normally your pies are amazing but the past 2 times I purchased them this is what happens. I guess I'll drive into Salem when I need to buy a pie even though I live locally

This Safeway in particular has the worst selection of items and they're always out of things. If you are trying to use digital coupons they never have any of the sales items on stock. I'm sure the employees are really nice if you ever got a chance to talk to one. That isif you can find one before you have to go check out because there's never anyone else around. No one has ever asked me if I need help finding something or even looked up to say hello

I am a Hotwheels collector and I regularly visit this location to check the pegs. If I'm lucky there will be something good, but just recently I happened to be at the store right when a worker was restocking the Hotwheels. He had let someone else his age, probably his friend, take out ALL of the good realistic cars and piled up a whole shopping basket full of them. He had about 5 of each car, probably going to sell them on Ebay. I don't know if a store restocker is allowed to take everything good before he even restocks them, but now I know why I can barely ever find anything good at many stores.

I always enjoyed the fresh food and produce of Safeway. Compared to other grocery stores, the extra price you spend at Safeway is always worth it for the great produce.This particular location is a little older and dirtier, but it's not much to complain about, just an observation. It's never been busy here and self checkout is nice for when you're in a rush.

My favorite neighborhood store. What keeps me coming back? The friendly staff. Always helpful, great positive attitude, their smiles and sense of humor and fun make a difference in my day. Newberg is lucky to have these folks choosing to work at this Safeway.

This is a classic Safeway that hasn't been remodeled in decades (take a look inside, it's a total throwback and has barely been modified.) Staff are friendly and they're well stocked. Parking lot is kind of a mess but that's expected.

Always have what I need. Heads up on the snow crab, I bought 2 halves and there wasn't any meat in the fat part of the leg? I have never experienced this before. I have heard of shrinkation but damn!

I always have a good experience at this Safeway. I have heard some complaints about Safeways in other towns but I have never had to file a complaint at this one. Great service great people

Train and treat your employees better. I usually avoid this location like the plague, but since it had been about 6 months I thought I'd give it another shot. Nope. Really uncomfortable atmosphere for your customers. One employee was in the floral section telling the girl arranging flowers how much he was beat as a child along with a lot of other things that should only be talked about in his therapist office, not his work. Checking out, the girl was on the verge of tears and telling the other two employees around her how horrible today has been and that she just should have called out. None of the employees said anything to me as I was putting my groceries on the check out counter or my payment in. The girl handed me my receipt, and I told her to have a better day. I won't be back. I'll keep driving 10 miles into Tualatin to get my groceries at the Fred Meyer there. I don't want to shop somewhere that employees are on the verge of a mental breakdown.

They apparently got rid of most of the flies they attempted to blame on the pathetic little carnival that ended months ago. Fairly clean. Interesting deli selection. Doesn't smell funky like Walmart does.

Ive definitely blatantly been profiled and followed here, but that was only once out of a few dozen visits so I wont let it tarnish their review too much. Felt good to smile in the guys face that was having me followed around when I paid for everything I had in cash lol

Always clean and free of clutter. Friendly staff and fairly quick checkers. Only reason 4 rather than 5 stars is they are taking up 2-3 parking spaces for shopping cart storage that are store front spaces, and quite a few empty products/shelves, where across the street at Fred Meyers seem to not have an issue of keeping all products in stock. But using the Safeway digital coupons is an opportunity to save a bit of money

Store has great appeal , Cassie at the deli department was very nice and professional despite how busy it was for lunch rush . It’s people like her that have me come back. There was also another gentleman probably newer who was kind too . Before the department needed a lot of help since I have had bad experiences before . Glad to see changes happening :)

Having shopped this store for 3 years has proven that any ad planning or prep for restocking falls way short of good! Always out of ad items in the afternoon and evenings. Lack of popular sale items for working schedules and finding someone to assist leads to " Sorry we're out" more often than not. Consistently fails on ad order quantities.

Visited your store at 6:00PM Sunday, June 5th. You have a young lady working customer service that doesn’t have customer service skills, none! Looks like she just awoke from a nap, speaks to my husband and I as if we’re little children.Teach your employees manners and courteous words and sayings like, “I’ll be with you in just a moment” instead of cutting me off mid-sentence and saying “one second” and her finger pointing to my face. Instead of saying “what” to my husband and staring at him, she could’ve said “pardon me or excuse me, what was that?”Terrible manners!

Shawn is a great manager because he runs this Safeway well, is efficient, has great checkout clerks on board, and is always willing to help in any way. This is one of the nicest Safeway stores I've been to and I'm glad it's in my town. Everyone is friendly and helpful.
