Absolutely adore this store (and I’m a person with severe anxiety). I use grocery pickup so that’s mainly my review. The staff go above and beyond. My order is always ready on time. Staff is courteous. When I’ve had emergencies and couldn’t pick up my order they let me postpone my pick up day to the next day! And one time they even called me after I had clicked “on my way” but then never showed (due to an apartment emergency) to check whether or not I wanted to cancel the order which was so considerate. And the minimum to bypass the pick up fee is only $35! Oh and don’t get me started on coupons!!! I always wish I was coupon savvy but alas I barely touch a newspaper. Well Fred Meyer actually tells me when items I’m already buying have coupons! So all I have to do is a single click to save money - no researching the best deal on an item I already know I want anyway! So Fred meyers stores = great merchandiser by Fred Meyer Newberg = where my anxieties are put at ease by friendly staff

I had a medical event here yesterday that ended up being dangerous for me and I needed to seek immediate treatment at the hospital next door. I just want to say I feel thankful that from what I can recall the employees encouraged me to worry about myself and asked if I needed help (I declined) or if they could call anyone. They were more concerned about me than the embarrassing mess I informed them I left and tried to come back to clean in an altered mental state. They put me and my safety first. I still plan on shopping here and I am extremely embarrassed about it all, but I do feel based off of my experience that I’ll still be treated the same with respect as I was before this. And that’s not necessarily guaranteed these days and so I really, really appreciate it. Thanks to everyone who helped me and I’m so sorry again for the mess. If there is a balance calculated for any items that were ruined and trashed, please reach out to this email so I can pay for it. Thanks again to all involved.

I love Fred Meyer as a store but this Fred Meyer had the filthiest bathroom I have come across in a grocery store. Rest stop bathrooms are significantly cleaner than this place. I really hope management reviews their sanitation practices because it makes me question the cleanliness of anything this store prepares. Pics are included to show filth that does not happen overnight but from not being cleaned for a long time. This is the family bathroom I went into with my toddler… I chose to change his diaper in the car instead…

I'm giving the pharmacy 2 stars only because they are slightly less incompetent and uncaring than the Newberg Walgreens. They sit on scripts that are sent in until you call, then lie to you about when they will be ready.Today I once again called to confirm they had received our scripts and were told they were working on them as we spoke and would be ready within the hour. 2 hours later I drove over only to find out they were not ready and still in queue.So 45 minutes of my time wasted, driving over, standing in line and driving home... all because the clerk lied about when they would be ready. And let's be clear, she did not take the time to look at the queue or ask the pharmacist, she just lied and promised they would be ready in an hour.I don't mind waiting for my script, I would have waiting til closing time had I been asked to, but I don't appreciate my valuable time being wasted with flippant lies, continuously by the same staff.MANAGEMENT - YOU CAN DO BETTER AND SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOUR STAFF. IMAGINE IF I STOOD AT THE COUNTER FOR 45 MINUTES TYING UP YOUR STAFF'S TIME AS THEY DID MINE?

Good place for one-stop shopping. Not generally the lowest prices on everything but you can't beat the convenience of getting everything you routinely need in one place. And, some of their specialty departments, like the cheese counter for instance, are a wonderful bonus. If you have the time to check for coupons and sales, it can really save you a lot.

Usually I prefer Fred Meyer over other stores but this location always seems hectic. The employees are doing their job well and are friendly, and overall the store is clean. But not the most relaxing shopping experience.

Will someone please explain to me why there is pork bacon in the vegetarian section?? Is this a cruel prank or gross ignorance? What’s next, wheat bread in the gluten-free shelves? Shellfish in the kosher isle? When can we expect this issue to be fixed? Isn’t there an entire portion of the store dedicated to animal carcasses, why put it in the 1 spot it should not be?Looking forward to answer.

Like others have mentioned, the convenience is unbeatable. Over the years Freddie’s has continued to provide great service while renovating the store beautifully!Price on groceries isn’t the greatest. There are plenty of locations with better pricing, however they are inconvenient and often filled with characters I’d rather not interact with.Overall, Freddie’s continues to be my go to, for about everything here in Newberg.

Had a great experience there the other day. We are out of towners and just not familiar with the layout. We were helped twice by a manager, who was restocking, must have been a manager she was so knowledgeable, she new both places where we could find everything we were looking for!Then we were very luck to have been looking for some strong local beer in a can, when the distributor was restocking. He gave us some excellent suggestions!

Since Walgreens is impossible to get through to on the phone!Waiting on hold for 2 hours just to be disconnected ..... Doing business with Fred Meyers is so refreshing to actually call and within minutes a live human being answers the Pharmacy, or whatever dept. you need. Having been a very happy resident of Newberg for 20 years, it's Important to let my friends and neighbors where the best and least favorite business to go to. I've proudly been the "Yamhill County's Guide Girl", for the past ten years. This is my FAVORITE Freddie's! People are super nice, produce and meat options are great, beer and wine selections plentiful, can find most if not all that I'm looking for. My phone asked me to give another update...They added another refrigerated aisle, and moved a bunch more stuff around again. Yogurt now has its own aisle. I guess yogurt is a rather popular snack. There sure is a lot of it.Anyway, half the refrigerator section in the middle of the store has been moved around, so now I have to hunt around to find stuff.

Ready to quit shopping here. After reset, store layout is confusing. Signage is wrong. Coupon items most always out of stock, and employees and management don't care. VERY difficult to move about this store as aisle are clogged in the mornings with vendors and employees messing with stuff on the shelves. Do your restocking and resets at night when the store is closed... duh.

Great produce. Aisles well identified in grocery. Great pricing. Redone their shelving. Everything in different places and app does not appear completely updated. I believe they have put all like products together, like organic, regular, simple truth etc. These used to be separate sections in the store. For example, all snacks are together.

This is probably one of the worst stores to go to as a service dog handler.I do not blame the staff for not knowing the laws. But I do think it would be common sense to see a puppy with a puppy pad in the baby seating of a grocery cart and think “that’s unsanitary”.Nope. Management needs to teach their workers the laws.I will never shop here ever again since it puts my life and my service dogs life at risk every time we’ve gone.

If I have 5 refills and won't let me briefly chat to the pharmacist bad sign. It's really bad that I had to call the emergency neurologist but 8 PM you close. drugs are notcheap. This isn't the first time.

Great store, customer service is nice and helpful for the most part. In most cases I can find exactly what I am looking for without having to go to another store to find that item. The store is simply laid out making it easy to find what you need, food and clothes in the front and less purchased items like automotive, cooking utensils and storage in the back.The one draw back is that, even though it states that the store is service animal only I have often seen small dogs either in the grocery carts or carried throughout the store. I even saw a dog in a grocery cart in the meat section surrounded by raw meat the person was planning on buying. Really not a good look for the store. I have been shopping and have had dogs bark and jump at me from the owners arms or from their carts not expecting the animal to be there. I just hope i don't get bit cause service animals isn't the only thing Kroger's allows in their stores.The location used to have a Blink charge station, but in the last few months Kroger has stopped paying for the service. With the rise of gas prices and people wanting to go shopping at this location, ending your EV charge stations doesn't seem like the right thing to do right now.I hope to keep coming to this location, but really wish a few things would change.

Please read the OREGON law. Forms of ID. DRIVERS LICENSE OF OREGON OR ANY STATE ID with PHOTO. NAME AND DATE OF BIRTH. WHICH I HAD!!!!OUR MILITARY... PASSORT AND A COUPLE OTHERS. YOU ARE NOT FOLLOWING THE LAW and I will file a complaint.I've been in there twice.... Now 3 times only to get id'd again FINE. BUT FOLLOW OREGON LAW AS YOU ARE NOT , again!!!!! I'm 50 years old at the youngest and then I go to show a federal ID UTAH ID NAME PHOTO AND DOB and she's like well I don't know if that's on my list .... CALLS HER BOSS WHO DON'T KNOW THE LAW. I don't give anything about if it's on your list it'slaw number one!!!!!!? It's your dumb rule... Nobody else is doing it just saying.. not only is it difficult to shop in your store anymore. But really the damn ID has a freaking birthday and my picture get a life Fred Meyer...... Kroger

CUSTOMER SERVICE FAILOrdinarily I have a pretty good experience at this Fred Meyer but yesterday was an exception. After stopping by Chase (which sadly will no longer be at this Fred Meyer starting mid August, not even their ATM!) I went to the customer service area to pick up a lotto ticket. When I got closer I noticed a sign on the lotto machine saying it was out of order. So I went to the customer service desk to pick up a ticket there instead. I was met with nothing but rudeness, however. This was about 5:15 pm on a Thursday. There were two women behind the counter I didn't recognize. One of them said "we're closed." I said "well since the lotto machine is out of order I thought I would just get a ticket here" (which has never been an issue). She responded "they said we had to close, which is why it says that on the sign there". I'm not great with confrontation so I just left. There was a guy with a cart waiting behind me as well. Obviously neither of us saw the sign, so it was not prominently displayed. Also, customer service really should be open the entire day during business hours, certainly not closed randomly on a regular weeknight! Also, if it is closed, say "sorry" and perhaps inform me when it will reopen. Customer service should be friendly and helpful! If anyone has an issue, where else are we supposed to go? No big deal that I didn't get a lotto ticket, just really bothered by the "customer service" I did not receive.
