When friendly advice, turns into an interrogation.I went into the Medford store to get my two kids a small pet each. We had talked it over for awhile prior and made a special time for them both. One was wanting a hamster and the other one a fish. We started with the hamster and the experience started out good. My child was happy with her decision and we got help with the supplies needed. Then the fish was next and it turned into a very stressful experience. They gave me so much advice but it then turned into a million questions and I felt like if I didn’t answer the right answers then they would withhold the sale of the fish. Literally like fish gatekeepers! It was crazy, while I was feeling overwhelmed the associate tried talking me into larger things than I wanted and some sort of monthly subscription. I felt ambushed, I left with no tank or fish. I felt like my kids experience was ruined by the associates. I don’t feel comfortable returning.

The store is clean and space is functional, but staff people are always incredibly nice and appear to enjoy their job.I supplement my cats dry food with some wet food every evening, and she really likes the particular flavor that I find at your store.

Made an appointment with Sheryl for the first time because I read really good reviews about her and I see what everyone was talking about! I asked and she delivered. I’ve been cutting my dogs hair on my own lately and I just wanted everything even out without taking too much off and did exactly that! I asked for the teddy bear look and that’s what we got. She came out whiter than ever and smelled really good! I also stopped by before they were done and it seemed like Maui was really comfortable with her! I recommend her and we will be coming back! Thanks again Sheryl.

I took my fur baby in for a spa day at the groomers. He loves getting his spa day. But when we got there he was unsure about it all. The staff was all very friendly with him and tried to make him feel comfortable. But you got to remember this was his first time there. So I hope next time he will be more excited for his spa day

I was in the Medford location on 2-16-2024. It was a horrible experience. To begin with I was with one of my daughters and her two kids. We were followed around the store by lost prevention, so much so that we couldn't even enjoy shopping. My granddaughters were scared and kept asking why are those men following us around the store. I then tried to find a manager to talk to her about it which took some effort because most of the employees are wearing street clothes with no uniform or at least a name badge indicating that they work at Petco. I did locate Kendra I believe her name stated she was the manager and could care less what I was experiencing in her store. That's why I am unsure that's her name because she was not wanting to give me her name. Just save yourself the issue of this box store if management doesn't care then the owner also doesn't care. Management is the product of the owner. I have spent lots of money in this location and now will never spend a dime in that location again. Good job Petco keeping it professional.

We received great customer service, and most of what we were looking for was in stock. One item was reported as in stock and available for pickup online, but wasn’t actually available at all. That was the only disappointing issue on our trip. The store we was very clean, and employees were friendly and available to help customers, which is nice to see.

Recently, Petco made the business decision to add a clinic into this store. The result is cramped narrow aisles and an overall reduced stock with less variety. The main reason I was still going to Petco was to get their bulk cat litter -- but that stuff just ends up making a dusty mess in my house.Recently I have been doing some comparison shopping, going to both the Petco and the local PetSmart. The difference is stark. The PetSmart retail space is much more spacious and less crowded, and is easier to get around in. Cat food seems to have twice the shelf space and thus has room for much more variety. I can save as much money (without the dust) by getting name-brand cat litter in the larger tubs.I go to Trader Joe's and REI regularly (next door), but see no reason to step into this Petco ever again. It looks like someone far, far away made a financial calculation that the clinic was a more profitable use of square footage than retail would be, but didn't stop to think about the number of customers that would leave that store for a much better shopping experience down the road, or who would switch to one of the local independent stores.

Overall good experience. It was bad timing on my part to go 30 mons before closing and they were trying to restock and also close for the day. Had a bit of trouble finding some things but didn't ask for help due. I was pretty happy with the coupon that was emailed to me and the staff was very nice and helpful.

Google and maps says open till 8pm. Not true! Drive all the way there and sign days closed at 7pm. FAIL. Fix your hours so people don't drive across town for your errors that take 11 seconds to correct. Half the people that work there are good. Store is small and under construction forever not sure what they are even doing.Sounds good, not real. If you were actually committed like you say then your hours would already be updated. Their not.

I was denied access to bathroom. Employee refused to give me the code and said I would have to catch the door. I shop there frequently and even recognized the employee who denied me access. Hard to believe he didn't recognize me but ok. I found my husband who was shopping and told him we are leaving. I'll never go back. The employee was a short small dark haired man with gauges.. He sucks

Friendly worker. Started puppy training and the trainer is amazing. Will take time to answer questions. I can say I did shop at pet smart. My new store is petco . Price are great and they don't push high price dog food on you.

The parking lot is horribly designed with only one way in and out, and they make a big deal about matching their own online prices and claim they need the manager's approval. So we just ordered online and got it for that price, they had to take more time to select our order for pickup. Shop online first for all your instore items

Worst experience ever! Wanted a trim of an inch off my Goldendoodle. Didn’t even recognize him after. If they did not have someone working that could do this I should have gotten a call to pick up my dog. Photos of before and after. I normally do not post negative reviews but this is unacceptable.

Do not buy fish here!! I have had all different kinds of fish my entire life, I know how to properly maintain a fish tank. Every fish I have purchased from this store in the last 3 months has died within 12 hours! I spoke with the manager and she admitted they had been having poor water issues, so I waited the 2 weeks and came back to get my replacement fish, and the young man with the huge fish ego in the aquatic department was nothing but rude to me and scooped out dead fish before grabbing my replacements. He refused to give me the same type of fish he had sold to me previously. I took the new ones home, and they too died within 8 hours! On top of that, the checker was rude, uninformed of what was going on at all in their fish department, and not at all customer service friendly. Do not shop here! I never will again.

Probably worst experience ever only girl that clearly liked her job was the silver haired oneOne girl is complaining about customers and her job in front of customersOne I asked for help came to help then went with another girl all the way upfront for a sharpie when not 2 secs later an employee comes from the same way with one on there shirtI don’t think any of them beside the one took there just seriously at all and they didn’t care about any customer just themselvesIf I was the manager of this store I would have fire almost all them on the spot.. I’d definitely reconsider my employees

The Petco here in Medford is pretty good. We have been there several times, and have always had a good experience. They have some really cool animals, and pet care products, toys, and much more.They seem a bit understaffed. But the employees that are there, seem knowledgeable and helpful. Definitely a good place for you and your pet friend to visit!

I bought a glass tank for our new guinea pig, that the associate recommened and she gave me a water bottle that would “for sure” work with it and it definitely does not. Can’t hook the water bottle anywhere so I ordered one somewhere else. Would be nice if they knew what they were talking about before they recommended us to buy it.

Things you should know before shopping at Petco, in 2019 one of the beds they sold me killed my parrott, I contacted them several times about it and they blew me off. I have bought a flea collar a couple weeks ago from them by Soresto (there is a lawsuit against them and the EPA right now I found out for death and injury) and its causing injury to our cat, see images. I wrote them a review once before and they had google remove it. You should also do your research for the products online before you actually go into the store. The products online are cheaper, sometimes WAAAAY cheaper, for example I grabbed all this stuff quickly for a stray we were taking in that night so couldnt look online or price shop due to time, then low and behold when i did find time to compare, I found our ezbreeze litter box was over 10% cheaper online, and they other one they offered was almost 50% cheaper. . We live in a small town so we have limited pet supply places.
