Well this is a direct comment to the deli section of the Safeway in McMinnville. How come when ever I come in and ask for a pound (1 lb) of anything your crew can't seem to figure out a pound is 1.0. Everytime I ask for a pound I get a half pound . I don't say anything anymore because I have gotten too much attitude for speaking up. Do better your job isn't that hard

Don't order Drive up and go. Ordered last night for pickup today at 5pm and at 5pm they hadn't even started my order! Would have been nice if someone had let me know. The time and energy I spent to place my order then wait around because I happened to get off early to go home with no dinner and no food for next couple days. I am beyond mad, disappointed in the customer service. Sad Safeway, just sad.

The entrance on the right always is broke and there is a weird smell. There is always long lines and minimal cashier's. The self checkout is a cluster because you have people with large orders trying to use it due to long lines. The deli always looks dirty. Some nice employees, also some rude and not very attentive to customers. I came into the deli at 530 pm, no whole chicken available nor cooking, only old turkey. Dried Chinese food, no fresh regular chicken strips. Sandwich bar was empty and moldy underneath. Don't go to this deli for dinner, very disappointing.

This is a pretty typical Safeway store. All the variety of food you'd expect, but they also carry a good number of products from smaller, regional businesses.The prices are okay. A lot of things are priced the same as the nearby Grocery Outlet, which says something about both stores.Finally, the deli runs the gamut: sandwiches, sushi, Chinese-American, American junk food, (fried chicken, jojo potatoes, corn dogs, et c.), cold cuts, cheeses, salads. And they put out loads of ready-to-cook/eat meals and kits. I'd be all over the if everything cost 10-20% less!

The remodel looks good. They installed some New checkout machines! Their produce section is usually stocked better than Albertson's on the other end of town. Otherwise the 2 stores are similar ( now both owned by Kroger)

I recently had a terrible experience with the drive up and go order system. I placed my order and was told it would be ready by 4 PM on the day I placed it. It was not ready by then and I had to Call to find out what was going on to be told that they were understaffed and that’s why it was going so slow. I live 45 minutes out of town that means that I had to make a special trip in the next day. In which I called to tell them I was ready, because my order was no longer in the system. It took 15 minutes from the time I called for someone to bring out my order. The amount of time, phone calls, and waiting that I had to do it would’ve been faster to just go in myself.

Ever wonder why the dairy cooler smells like rotting milk? Look at the floor underneath the milk rollers. It hasn't been cleaned in at least 6 months or more. It smells and looks terrible. I try not to imagine how the other departments in the store are monitored if the employees are not able to notice the smell and the sight or rotting milk on the floor.

Always have an issue when I try to place a cake order and am sent to Albertsons or Roth's. Customer service skills are very poor and staff are nasty to each other out in the open. Bakery staff is always rude when you need to ask a question. More than not they are out of stock on bakery sale items. Item will say in stock on app but it won't be in the store. Lousy cell reception so the app is mostly pointless. Not impressed.

Not happy with the management at this store. When I stopped in around 8:30 - 9 pm, there were NO checkers, self check only. Spoke to the manager the next day & he blew me off. I even mentioned he s/b concerned about the safety of only 2 employees that time of night. Any yahoo could come in & create an unspeakable event & he wasn't the slightest bit concerned

Bakery is terrible. I've tried going in and ordering a cake a couple times now and each time there's some excuse as to why they can't do it. They are always simple cake orders and I get told no and sent somewhere else in a very rude manor. Bobby was so rude to me the last time I had went in. I would quit going but the store is so close to where I live.

Convenient grocery store with a pharmacy and a Red box. Large mall parking lot. Lots of fast food places nearby to take the edge off your hunger before shopping. My fav is Panda Express. Companion store to Albertsons at the south end of town.

I like Safeway.....Every time I come here I feel the store is clean. I've been to the Albertsons down the road and the difference is night and day. The quality of their products is always above exceptional, and the prices are a little steep at times but there are always good deals going, coupons, and promos. I wish the bakery was as good of a quality as the Newberg location (yuuuuuuum), especially the doughnuts. I've been told they have different equipment. Not sure if that is accurate... The meat area always feels like I am getting goooooooood quality meat. It's always fresh...The downfall is the parking lot here really sucks, this is the main reason I usually opt to not come to Safeway, the handicapped spots are farther away, and the other spots are super cramped. I am constantly getting dings in my car from other people smacking my car. It doesn't matter which one of the vehicles I use, it ends up with dings and scratchesIf it means I have to go down in quality to not end up with my car jacked up for going then I must go elsewhere.

Pharmacy is a joke! Being run by the elderly! Call many time for a single prescription and much more staff incompetence. Went from the best pharmacy in town too the worst. I don't recommend this pharmacy.

Most of the staff at this store are very friendly and helpful. Check out times are usually reasonable but can back up on the weekend. Love the Friday frenzy sales!

Normally a good place to shop, but the last few times I have shopped at this location my cashier Jerome has been.. off? I asked if a sale price would be added because deli subbed an item on sale that was out of stock, he got confused and upset and just stood there after I completed the transaction on my side until I told him to please just finish my transaction multiple times.

Came in to get Ribeyes and trimmings for dinner but they had T-bones on sale for $5.00 a pound in a value pack, so I was able to get 3 for the price of 1 ribeye. Always clean, friendly and helpful staff.

I like the store for many reasons but one of the best is the rewards member app. If you have the time I have saved alot of money .. and the second would be the employees 💌 but I didn't like the pharmacy? Almost done with the remodeling yes!!!

Our family uses Drive Up and Go service frequently and to all you guys from that department - THANK YOU, You Guys Rock.That said there have been several “mistakes” with orders, wrong item is included, or it’s missing a couple of something. But, 99.91% of the time you guys are spot on and the few hiccups were remedied straight away. Seriously I am so thankful to the team that takes care of putting the orders together and getting them loaded in our car super fast. You save our family a lot of time and hassle, and y’all are always hella friendly and respectful, even when I’m that guy who shows up at 7:58, 59. 😉. Which I’ve perhaps been known to do on a regular basis.This is my family’s first year living in Yamhill County and we are very happy to have such a great grocery store as our home store. Thanks again Safeway.Also have to give a shout out to Norma who has been an Angel in assisting myself as well as my mom with self checkout stuff and a HUGE thanks for assisting us with the inns and outs of the Safeway App & adjusting to the coupons being pretty much all digital. Thanks Norma!And thanks to the rest of the staff, who always treat me like gold, even when I run in 15 minutes before closing and I'm the one they have to use the intercom on " Good Evening Safeway Shopper. We are closing in 5 minutes so please bring your hopefully not full cart up to checkout now. We will reopen in a couple hours early I'm the AM for all your needs." So ya. I'm that guy. And they NEVER treat me like him.

Horrible customer service. Yesterday I went through the checkout and quietly with a smile on my face explained to the checker that even when connecting to the stores WiFi that the app kept saying there was an error when adding coupons during my time shopping. That I’d tried several times, so two of my coupons I wasn’t sure if they’d actually added- BOTH were listed on the front page of the weekly add that was sitting at the checkout, and I’ve never had a problem with them adjusting for me. I even tried showing him at the checkout that the app wasn’t working. He wouldn’t listen to me, didn’t want to help me and told me he could do nothing. I asked for a manager and he refused, said all he could do was check me out and I could go to customer service. I asked again and he did call but then told me with a raised voice while glaring at me that I was causing a disturbance and holding up the line. I was completely blown away by his behavior and volunteered to go to another line if he’d put my groceries back in my cart. He again refused and then angrily again told me I was the problem. I again kindly asked for a manager- the checker behind me I explained what I was waiting for and he told me this should be no problem and that he would do it anytime if I came through his line. The manager came over and I explained the situation and just asked if they could price match the add since the app wouldn’t load- and explained I’d go back in line so the person behind me could get checked out if he’d put my groceries back in my cart. She took my phone from my hand and told me the coupon I was showing them wasn’t clicked( after explaining the WiFi in the store wasn’t connecting to the app and I’d tried but it kept saying error). She then told me to come to a different register. The checker refused to help and I loaded my groceries back into my cart and at this point was almost in tears- I’ve never been treated so poorly when I’d kindly volunteered multiple times to do the right thing but was yelled at and made to feel stupid and that I was in the wrong. I went to the other register and again kindly with no raised voice tried to explain but the manager just tried to take my phone away and implied I didn’t know what I was doing. I refused her and asked why she couldn’t just price match the cheese and blueberries on the front page of the add and she said because it wasn’t in my app. By midway through re ringing she wouldn’t even speak to me. Almost in tears and in disbelief of this situation even happening I paid but then I did say how un pleased I was and how terrible the customer service was. Their WiFi and app being the problem. I’m a long standing customer of Safeway and this store but I honestly don’t know if I’ll ever shop there again. She basically rolled her eyes at me. I understand there are constraints but I felt like my requests were reasonable, said without anger and I tried to do the right thing by even volunteering to get out of line multiple times. I was treated as a criminal, yelled at by the checker and talked down to by the manager. A terrible experience. Having customers in tears shouldn’t be allowable or acceptable.

The pharmacy employees were very helpful and getting the vaccine booster was worth the wait If you can't make the counties clinics then this will work out for you. Get there at least an hour before they open. You may want to get your paper work ahead of time, when it starts it goes pretty quickly.
