These people work very promptly with deep concern for detail. I also appreciate their level of friendliness in spite of all the pressure. People generally come to them for service and are in a space of anxiety, so the heart that they are received with makes a lot of difference.Great job.Highly recommend!

Illegal filling of prescriptions.I would give this pharmacy a negative 5 if that was possible.I cant even remember all of the terrible interactions ive had at this pharmacy. Ive been going here for over a year with nothing but headaches.1) They filled my prescription for a controlled substance for someone who wasnt me and when I went in to get my prescription, they didnt apologize and made me come back to get my prescription filled again. It was never explained to me what happened. This is illegal.2) one day i called and the phone rang for about 3 min and disconnected me. Then I called back I got immediately disconnected. This happened multiple times, so I went to the store. There were no customers there, and when I asked about the phone, one of the women there said she was answering calls all morning and had no idea.3) I went in today to fill my prescription and I was the only person on line. The woman behind the counter told me she would be right with me, and then proceeded to stand around doing literally nothing until another woman came up with a question whom she immediately started helping directly in front of me. When I told her I was on line, all I was told is that I was not being cut in line....I then tried to address this with the manager she was patronizing, told me she would "deal with me" and she had nothing to say at all about her employees directly and blatantly ignoring me to my face.Go use mosaic or any other pharmacy.

You know the refills and reminders are great. But every time I come to pick up my prescriptions there’s a long line. Not sure what the Hangup is but who has time to stand I. A line for hours. There’s two registers but only one in operation. They don’t offer mailed prescriptions, so Personally I’m looking for a more efficient pharmacy. As I was standing in line since 9:03 am (they open at 9 am), behind 5 other people who were already there in line. A woman approaches a side door of the pharmacy and a staff member who was clearly expecting her, opens the second register for what appears to be a family member. She serves her relative before everyone who has been waiting in line and then calls the next person in line. Outstanding!

This pharmacy is very busy but has worked hard to attract and maintain staffing in a time when help wanted signs are everywhere. I have never in the five years I’ve been using Safeway pharmacy had anyone there be rude, impatient or even indifferent to me or my husband. I have had the wrong medication given to me in a major hospital pharmacy in the North Eastern part of the country. I have medical background and always check my medication. Safeway Pharmacy has never made a mistake with my medication which I appreciate very much. Working in a medical field serving the public is a demanding job carrying huge responsibilities and harmful levels of stress. We would benefit as a community to show patience and kindness to one another during a frightening time in our history.

Ever since hometown pharmacy closed. Safeway pharmacy has been nothing but a joke. From The rudeness of staff members to huge long lines you have to wait in. For some of us standing in a long line of around 25 people is simply unreasonable. Also the issues with not have a diabetic medication and getting a phone call as your on your why home from having surgery the told me they could not fill my pain meds and would not have any for 3 days, due to they had already got there quota from CDC. And heaven forbid trying to get anyone on the phone Madras Safeway pharmacy won't answer your call..It's been 3 or 4 months now plenty of time to hire caring staff members....

I've tried numerous times to contact this pharmacy for a prescription refill that I ran out of in October. They will not answer their phone or return calls. I've tried using their automated phone refill method with no success. My doctor sent in a new prescription hoping that would help. It didn't. Still no response. We then switched to a Rite Aid pharmacy but they are unable to fill the prescription because it's tied up in Safeway's system and Safeway hasn't responded to their request to release the prescription. I have filed a complaint with the Oregon Pharmacy Board.I urge others having an issue with this pharmacy to file complaints also. Someone could or already has suffered a medical emergency due to their lack of response.I only gave them 1 star because it doesn't allow NO STARS!

One star is one too many. Long wait times, lying clerks, and a total apathy for their customers. I refilled three prescriptions here and was shocked when my total was eighty bucks. My insurance is pretty decent, with $5 copay for genetics and $10 for namebrand scripts. When I asked about this, she said that those were the copay process with a total straight face. Unfortunately this is the only pharmacy in town after Bimart and Hometown pharmacies both closed. Now they’ve got a total monopoly and gleefully screw over their customers. Now that I’ve got the scripts I need I’ll be changing over to a mail order pharmacy.

Sadly this pharmacy has gone down hill to the point of putting patients at risk. Long lines, medications not ready when they say they will be, medications not available to fill the prescription. I have waited in line as long as two hours for prescriptions that were supposed to be ready the day before. The average wait time I have experienced is 30-45 minutes on other visits. One recent trip, there was a total of 28 people waiting in line. Recently I have been waiting for Asthma Medication to be filled, going on three days from the time it was submitted by my doctor. They were closed on a Saturday due to "unforseen circumstances" and Sunday for the New Year holiday, and was told being open Jan. 2nd is questionable. With Asthma a trip to the ER is a very real possibility without medication. I feel for the staff, they are good people and seem to be doing the best they can with what they have to work with, and whoever is in charge of the pharmacy at a corporate level should be held accountable for the decline in the service and capabilities of this pharmacy. I plan to file a report with the Oregon Board of Pharmacy, and change to a different pharmacy.

The last pharmacy I was at closed and everything was transferred over to Safeway. There was a problem with my insurance not filling one of my medications. I called and the tech I talked to was so helpful and kind. She was able to get my medication worked out, then she looked through the order that had just arrived and made sure they had it. She then started filling it while we were on the phone. I was nervous about switching over to a new pharmacy but with such wonderful customer service I have confidence Safeway pharmacy will be great!

If zero stars was a option that is certainly what I would rate this pharmacy they bought out the best pharmacy in town without the staff or the means to keep up with it. They are rude disorganized standing in lines for hours around sick people all to get to the front of the line to find out the medications that were called in 24 hours earlier are not even ready! Mail order pharmacy is where it’s at.

If zero was an option, that's what I'd give. I had been calling off and on all day friday to refill a prescription to no avail. Went there to stand in their famously long lines and decided to call the pharmacy while in line and surprise surprise, their phones didn't even ring, they turn off their ringers! Thwir lunch timw hit And I listened to a pharmacy tech tell a lil old lady in the rudest tone ever "well nobody is gonna come feed us" when she was complaining about the wait time to the customer in front of her, she wasn't even talking to the rude clerk. This place is horrendous and if you dare share your displeasure with that, they treat you terribly. And don't even bother calling or leaving messages because I heard a clerk straight up tell a customer a few months back who said she left a message for her meds that "we don't have the staff to listen to or answer messages". Wow, just wow. Safeway needs to do better for us all!!

They never, EVER pick up the phone so of course your Dr office will call a thousand times and they wouldn't have your prescription ready because they haven't even received the order. The ladies that work in there are so rude, very unhappy and unfriendly, the only nice lady in there is the one that speaks Spanish. Horrible pharmacy and it is so bad I have no other choice here in Madras! If you come here and they don't have your order get ready to wait +2 hours!!!!

Almost always there is a very long line and when it comes to your turn If it is within 5 minutes of them closing, they will deny you and send you away.Why can't they invest in a paging system? So you can come up to the counter when your medication is ready?

Since moving to the Madras area, I'm disappointed with the number of pharmacies in the area, it seems Safeway was my only choice after Downtown closed. I really hate the long lines, and if you want to try to talk about a problem with how your Rx was fill wrong, you are told to go wait in another line, and when you finally get your turn, you are brushed off and the tech really doesn't want to help solve the problem, what I got was a eye roll and told to call before my next refll ito make sure I get a 3 months supply instead of a 1 months supply .

This pharmacy is the most unprofessional I have ever experienced. I had a positive test for covid and my doctor perscribed an antiviral which time is of the essence to treat the virus. Safeway pharmacy didn't have the courtesy to contact me to let me know that they did not have what was prescribed to me by my doctor. Lost my transfer request from the pharmacy that had the perscription items. It is going on a full day now for a time sensitive medication, and am still working on sorting out the Safeway mess. Can you imagine being ill with covid and having to contact this pharmacy and do this frustrating process while I'll? If you have any choice, I would very strongly recommend using another pharmacy, or just don't count on getting your meds. I can't believe that their rating is a lowly 2.1!

We recently moved to Madras. My previous pharmacy was Rite Aid, but since there wasn't a Rite Aid in Madras, I needed to change companies. After looking up prices online, I went with Safeway pharmacy. The young man who assisted me was super nice as well as knowledgeable about the system, rules and services available. He also taught me how to get coupons to cut costs on my medication. This was an enormous help since I had recently lost my pharmacy insurance. Sure, it was a little slow when I picked up my new prescription, but I'd rather they take the time and be thorough, than to have them rush through a transaction and make a possibly life-threatening error. My consult was quietly handled to ensure as much privacy as possible, and the staff seemed friendly and competent.

So, how to start. My wife and I have been going to Safeway Madras for quite some time, and over the years they have progressively gotten slower and the staff has become bitter and angry with the customers. I have witnessed as well as been treated with disrespect on more than one occasion. We call ahead for our prescription and when I’m in line asked to move aside and wait. We don’t live in Madras so we constantly have to plan our trips to madras around this pharmacy, Paula who used to be here was a great asset and the pharmacy worked much better under her direction, now it is totally like throwing darts in the dark as to how you will be treated on any given day. I have moved my stuff to Home town Drug, much more friendly and more efficient. Unfortunately my wife has to stay with Safeway so we still have to deal with it, I just wish you would eliminate the individual who hates her job and the people who support her disrespect and cynicism to customers, if you loose enuf customers your jobs may go anyways.

Slow, rude and uncarring. The only response you get is they are understaffed. Well, your playing with peoples lives. Some people need these meds to be ready, every month, on time. It could be life or death!! I spoke to an elderly woman who has been waiting 3 weeks for her medication. 3 WEEKS!! And the line is rediculous...25-30 min wait to be told it isnt ready. Go back a few days later and wait just to be told its not ready. Not ok!

Call no one answers never return calls and always late on my prescriptions-- supposed to be mailed as I moved made all the arrangements and was set or so I thought ---well I'm out of meds AGAIN! Have to look for aore thoughtful pharmacy

Safeway purposefully put the other pharmacies in town out of business and now we have to stand in line for an hour or more to get meds. They don't have enough employees and it is clear they just care about profit. Just awful.

There is a female clerk at their pharmacy counter who treated me with disrespect. She made a face and I wasn't happy. Took my prescription in at 2:30 p.m. and wasn't ready at 6:30 p.m. She couldn't find my insurance information, which was odd because I just picked up a monthly prescription there last week....same insurance all year long. Because of her, I am transferring my prescriptions to another pharmacy. Yes, they are slow.
