We had the pleasure of camping here for two nights with our trailer. The location is beautiful and the campsite is clean. We loved enjoying the beauty of the high desert and views of the river in pure quiet. We didn't partake, but were very impressed with the food and beverage offerings in the shop.We also came home with a stunning piece of art from created by Mark, a talented artist and onsite guide.Thank you, we will be back.

This is simply one of the best hidden gems around Bend. The camp sites are very easy to get in and out of. Just pull into the spot that was emailed to you. They also have tents and cabins. We stayed for two nights in a RV spot. Check the RV map and make sure you pick a stop that has what you need but we chose the electricity and water only. Works great for us. It's a deal for the location right by the river. You will also find lots of birds of prey here. I did a fly fishing 6 hour lesson. It was awesome and I highly recommend that to anyone who is thinking of trying it. It really helps a beginner like me to wrap my head around all of the equipment and terminology. Saved me so many headaches. Bought what I needed and now I'm set for the rest of our trip. If you take it seriously you are bound to catch amazing fish like I did. Take it slow, and don't forget to catch and release. Thanks for a great time Mark!

The place is clean, comfortable, well outfitted. Mark and Hunter were great guides with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Vail, the owner, made our trip seamless and was also exceptionally helpful. We'll definitely be making a return trip here in the future.

This Deschutes River Fly Shop/Camp provided the best Mom(53) & son(12) fishing adventure. Upon arrival, the owner was accommodating & found us a better camping spot than I had originally reserved. The camp is safe, clean, & across the road from the Deschutes. The fly shop had knowledgeable staff who offered my son their skill from picking out flies to helping him set up his rod. The best part was in the water where we had the best fishing guide, Hunter. Hunter was phenomenal with my son! He taught my son to appreciate the dance as they brought the fish in, how to properly hold & release the fish, & skill necessary to determine nymphing or catching on the surface & which fly to use. My son is hooked!

5 stars!!! Best fly fishing experience. Everyone was super friendly. Very attentive. We did the class, learned a lot. Hunter was a great instructor. You could tell he was genuinely excited when we caught our fish! 2 rainbow trout and a mountain whitefish! Would absolutely go back.

5 Star, Top Notch in every aspect. My wife and I stopped by the store for a few fishing supplies and Vail introduced us to his Fly shop and RV/CAMP. We were super impressed with the cleanliness of the entire facility along with Vails attention to every detail. I purchased some well needed wading boots, along with other items for my day out on the water. We didn't have our Rv with us but returned the next week for a couple nights stay and had a nice quiet time. Sites are very clean, well sized and full hook up. Now about their Guided trout trips. I had such a nice experience at the campground that I booked a guided trout trip for the week after for myself and my friend Jason. What a greattime with our Guide Matt, he did a great job the entire day, selecting just the right spots for wading, fishing and catching beautiful Rainbow trout. Matt took all the necessary time to instruct us where too and how to present our flies to give us the best chance at a hook up. Well it worked we had two different double hook ups and we were lucky enough to land one of the doubles along with several other large rainbows. This trip will be a lasting memory as Vail, Matt, Mark and the Deschutes River gave myself and Jason a wonderful time out on the river.

Came across this campsite by accident; we don't fly fish!! But turned out to be really nice! Clean and safe. They keep grassy tent area very green and nice. Staff very friendly. Along hwy 26 across from deschutes river, so can be noisy. Nice camping shower setup. I would definitely come again!

This spot was awesome, extremely clean, quiet, and relaxing. Views around the campsite were 10/10. The stars at night are big and bright, and the neighbors were friendly too. We didn't go fly fishing, but if you are into that kinda thing, I couldn't reccomended a better place to do it.We would definitely come back here to camp again.

Great camping for tenting. Soft grass and level. Store closes early and there i don't recall if there is much else nearby, so stock up if arriving late. Great views!

Some friends and I did the beginner fly fishing course and had a great time. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. While we were out on the river practicing our cast each of us actually caught a fish. The shop itself is well stocked and reasonably priced. They have rental waders and boots. They are well used and probably should be retired, but they work and their available. They have onsight camping. We camped two night on a tent site, which was perfect. Clean, well taken care of. No complaints.

Great day w/ Vail. Our first time fishing big, western water. Trip was awesome. Learned a ton. We stayed in Bend which was a bit of a hike. Stay closer if you can. We’ll be back.

Great fly shop to get current intel on how the river is fishing. Mark in the shop was very helpful in both current conditions and flies that were "working" at the time. Got this pig on a size 18 X-caddis. All shops charge the same so wait to load up there and you'll be set.

We had a peaceful relaxing stay here. A great little fly shop right on the property and a wealth of knowledge about the area and fishing is gladly given by the staff. We will definitely be back.

Would add 6 stars if I could!!! There for Father's Day and son's Birthday, both of us new to the sport. Fantastic fly fishing experience. Great to have the cabins (which were perfect) and the shop and the store all right there. Everyone was super helpful and friendly and attentive. Mark did a great job with the class and practice casts and we learned a ton before we even hit the river. Both Mark and Matt were excellent guides, and we caught a bunch of rainbows and whitefish with Matt on our full day out. Love the drift boat over the 10 miles, stopping at a dozen different spots! They were as excited as us with each fish we reeled in!! Planning on going back for the 3 day outing. If you want to fish the Deschutes, this is the group to guide you.

We had a fantastic time touring with Matthew! The three of us were all fly fishing for the first time. Matt provided us with everything we needed to be successful! Comfortable waders and nice rigs! Matt spent time with each one of us, giving tips, changing lures, adjusting our indicators, and showing us where to fish the river. By the end, Matt's knowledge of the river landed each one of us at least one fish with 2 member of our group landing three fish each!It was a wonderful early spring fishing trip, a very premium experience, and a great lunch to boot! Will definitely be back to book again!

Really amazing group of folks that will teach you everything you need to know about fly fishing. I went out for the first time this year and I had such an amazing time. The full day float is such a great day on the river. Highly recommend these folks.

Wanted to give a shout out to Mark at the Deschutes Fly Shop. We arrived mid afternoon yesterday and there was a bit of confusion about our reservation. He got us sorted out in a professional and friendly manner and made our first night enjoyable. This morning, he was super accommodating and helping us move two a campsite with hook ups and even offered to charge my iPhone.Mark was knowledgeable about the river and fly patterns and how to have fun on this beautiful river. He helped with figuring out the river permit and printed a copy of my fishing license. You don’t always find such friendly staff and fly shops. We have our own fishing kayak so I won’t need a guide but in talking to other campers they said they really liked their guides from the fly shop. About to get on the river now so just wanted to post this and say it’s a great place to camp.

Great base camp. No headache of the crowded boat launch camps. Make a reservation and rest assured all will go as planned.Had a great day trip WS to TC. Vale helped outfit a buddy from the shop with the 4 essentials. Fair prices on everything. If you like shopping, talking fish, and drinking a beer stop here.Awesome to see how they have developed the site with convenience for fishermen the number one design detail.

I’ve been wanting to fly fish the Deschutes River for a long time. So I googled “fly fishing Deschutes” and landed on this page. I couldn’t be happier with my experience at the camp. I’m a still a beginner at this and Mark, the guide at the camp was happy to help me identify some appropriate flies and then set up my rod. Mark even took some time to help me with my cast. I also had a new pair of fishing boots that Mark outfitted with some studs. That made a world of difference on the river as the bottom is mossy and super slippery.I’d love to come back sometime and hire Mark or one of the other guides to take me fishing.

I love this campground! The guys in the fly shop; Vail, Matt & Mark are extremely helpful. This is a small campground, not an RV park (although they do accommodate them if they can). Grounds are well kept, tree lined camp spots, and picnic tables at each campsite with fire ring. With that said; it's family friendly with beautiful canyon and river views. The views never get old!! The deli is awesome - burgers, sandwiches, tap beer, & ice cream - what more could you ask for? I'm pretty new to fly fishing, but the shop has everything you could possibly need, and if they don't they'll get it for you! These guys know their fishing! Great stop for lunch or staying a few nights!

Great campground! Can't beat the location. Supplies on-site are limited for purchase (except for fly fishing), just be aware.

Terrific fly shop in a great location with awesome guides to recommend the gear that fishes the best. I've bought gear here and have done numerous drift boat trips with them. First rate service, quality gear and they always put me on the fish. This Spring I got the opportunity to fly fish some lakes at a private ranch in Central Oregon. Vai(the guide)l and I rented a beautiful old wooden cabin on the property that looked like it was built on the set of Dances with Wolves. Great stars at night and very peaceful. The lakes were close by and I got to experience aggressive big rainbow trout in a lake. We used float tubes which are really fun. This experience is not to be missed!

They offer guide services and sunset Happy hour floats. The clean and quiet campground has stunning views of the river and river gorge. They offer a good selection of draft beer and hot food after a day of enjoying the area.Well worth a stop for anyone wanting to explore this amazing area.

Stayed here over the weekend and had our pop up canopy try to fly away on us. Shout out to the campers that saved it while we were away! Also a huge thank you to the attendant that for his concern and making sure the rest of our stuff was okay.
