Love this place. We were visiting relatives and this is the local grocery store. Prices were great, and on some things on sale better than big city chain stores. The staff were the best, super friendly and SUPER helpful, thanks McKays!

This store no longer services the service it once did, you have to ask that they not put everything in one bag making it so heavy one can hardly pick it up. They don't put the bags in your cart, they leave that for the customer to do, basically they only seem to be there to scan and take your money, everything else is left up to the customer, and trying to get a ' how are you today ', or even just a smile 😊 is like pulling teeth.There are a couple of the old timers who will ask how you are, but you can see they no longer seem to enjoy their jobs, I really don't blame those couple of people.As for the others I would think they would be happy to have a job close to home, but then again who knows what they really think of working there.I prefer to drive to the McKay's in Reedsport even though it's 20 minutes up the road, there you'll find a much nicer, cleaner, and better stocked store. The staff working there are friendly and will ask if they can help you find anything and always have a smile 😊, the meat and produce departments are 💯% better and larger than Lakeside. It's like night 🌃 and day when comparing the two stores, so I will use the Lakeside store for those times when I just need one or two items and drive to Reedsport when I do my overall shopping 🛒, plus I have the dollar 💵 tree, Safeway and hardware store and a bonus of Dairy Queen 👑 if I want to treat myself to lunch.

Clean friendly... Something more of these small towns need to do...thank you Lakeside Oregon....allowing atv/utv to ride into town under some restrictions of course to get fuel/ food(store or restaurant) helps out the community) if i couldn't travel to town.. wouldn't have spent 40$ for foods...

Killer place for a small town. They have it all and we save the drive to Coos bay or Reedsport. You can also drive your atv legally from the dunes which I loved. I mean why not?

The store is always clean & well maintained.Don't know what her name is or if she's still an employee but a (female) member of management is very RUDE & disrespectful. Other than that everyone else is very friendly & courteous

McKay's is a decent neighborhood market. Some of their prices are a little high, but for the most part, they are good for quick shopping trips. The store is always clean and the staff is friendly.

Neat and tidy. A little spendy on some items, which is to be expected I suppose being the only grocery market in the area. The employees are friendly and helpful. I like that the meat department is actually there and you can break down packages and they will even spice it up for you.

As a Native Oregonian I traveled past Lakeside to Reedsport or Northbend for groceries and beer, for years never knowing McKays of Lakeside existed.Now a local merchant in Lakeside I've enjoyed having them as a local resource and am so very thankful to be able to shop here.Despite being rural and off the beaten path they provide excellent produce, fresh meat and a wide array of useful items all in a comfortable environmt. Somehow, they manage to do it all with very reasonable prices .Thank you Mckays

Best meat department there is around. You spend more here than you would if you went too town. But, I don't mind paying more for a store that provides you with bags. Because other stores treat ya like a punk and give ya nothing to carry your stuff in.Thank you McKays for supplying bags for all of us. You guys rock.

Love this store. Always neat and clean. Easy to move through isles. Friendliest staff I have ever seen, always happy to help. Never long lines at check out. Alot of prices are higher than Safeway or Fred Meyers, however I don't mind paying, the customer service is well worth it.

I love to shop at McKay's Market#14 in Lakeside OR. The owner/ staff are always polite and friendly. They know us by name. They know what aisle items are on when you ask so you don't have to rush around looking for something. They are my #1 go-to store!

Nice little store to shop here on the town of lakeside Oregon, everyone in this town is so friendly, we didn't know this little gem of a town was even back here off hwy 101, I am so glad we found and will definitely be back to visit and stay again.

The store is strangely stocked. Like they'll have 5 different versions of choc. Chip cookies but no sugar cookies or any other flavor. Or 5 different versions of family lasagna and no options something other than lasagna. Friendly people and clean, just oddly stocked.

Nice friendly employee's that you know by name and who treats you with the utmost respect. Bill the stores manager and Paul the assistant are some of the best when it comes to showing the employees that they are the same as the and do not expect their staff to do something they wouldn't do themselves.

Nice variety of food. Their produce department I love the way it is set up oh, it is very inviting. I like the fact that they have products are people like myself who cannot have dairy. But I do miss my friend Mike and seeing his smiling face. He always went the extra step to help out when I couldn't find something.

McKay's is a nice small town market that has almost everything you could want with prices that are a bit higher than usual. That being said, at the beginning of each month they have a killer meat sale that I use to stock meat into my freezer to last until the next month's sale. Good to know!

Store is clean; selection great in beverages, so-so in other areas. Employees stick to business, no smiles and check-out can be quite slow. But they're the "only game in town" for groceries and that being said prices aren't TOO overly-inflated.
