Excellent pet shelter. My wife and I adopted two lovely orange kittens here a couple years ago, and have been back a few times. This shelter really cares, is clean, well run, they know what they're doing. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and you can tell they love animals.

My husband and I adopted a dog there. The staff was wonderful to answer questions we had regarding the dog we wanted a week and a half ago. Also allowing us to spend time with the dog before we left the shelter to make sure the dog was just right for us. We are enjoying the dog we adopted at home. He is adjusting very well.

Thanks to Rebecca lord and her team for bringing me the perfect cat, my sweet buddy magpie.They where so helpful in setting up to bring him to Portland and keeping me updated on the whole process to adoption.If I ever end up adopting again I would definitely come back to them!

Got a Border collie lab mix named Ayra, 8 months old. She's a wonderful addition for me and my Border collie. They play a lot with me and each other. The staff and facility are very nice. You can tell they love their temporary borders. Thank you for Ayra.

. They are lacking experience in both dealing with animals and people. When showing animals they create more stress on the animal than needed. They tell you they will call you back the same day and 5 messages I left and 6 days later they finally call you this is to tell that they have a bunch of people that make an adoption decision when the day you are there they imply you can take the animal home. So which is it ? Completely unprofessional and lacking business skills.

They have an over complicated way to adopt an animal, so if you find one you want, it might be gone by the time they get to your application. We used Best Friends in Baker City.

Any shelter must get ALL animals spayed or neutered before they are adopted. We were somewhat stunned when they told us they dont spay/neuter their outgoing adopted animals.What is the point of sending animals back out into the world when they will just continue to breed and make the overpopulation problem even worse? Very strange policy - local veterinarians need to step up to the plate and donate free sterilization surgeries to this shelter. Or the shelter can hand out some type "Good for one $20 Neutering" vouchers when each animal is adopted, that are backed up by local vets.Otherwise, well laid out and clean. Staff are clearly dedicated and care for the animals well.

We use these guys to kennel our dogs and they are absolutely the best. Our dogs are well cared for and walked and looked in on on a regular basis.
