I will forever be grateful for this vet office. All the staff I have interacted with have been amazing. I brought my cat here from Baker in early November when none of the other vets would see him. They fought with me for my cat when nobody else would. He’s still not 100% but they put him on the train of getting better. He now plays and is almost back to himself. The reception lady Jackie is always awesome and kind when we go in. I recommend them to everyone.

We bring all of our animals here, from cats and dogs to horses and cows. The entire staff has gone above and beyond for us every single time we have brought one of our animals in for care. My family lives about an hour and a half away from here, but we gladly make the drive because of the quality of care and customer service we receive each time we come in! There is simply no better veterinary clinic around, and we recommend this clinic to all of our friends and family!

Wonderful veterinarians. I had to have my dog put to sleep in October of 2022. The doctor who saw him took such good care of him. And not only him but me as well. I was walked through everything, I was respected and I was listened to. They were very gentle and kind to my dog. The experience was definitely very professional. I would recommend this vet to anyone and everyone! Love them!❤️Thank you for taking care of my dog.

DO NOT GO HERE. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR ANIMALS.Took my 6 months old kitten in today to get fixed not killed and he passed away apparently from the anesthesia. This was him weeks before he passed away. Should i be able to get my money back?

My dog received a huge laceration on her side and at 5pm not a single vet in Baker would see her because they were "leaving soon." These people happily waited for me to drive 45 minutes to take care of my dog. These are good people.

I have had two experiences with them. The first of my two dogs was old and dying, had to finally put him down. They came to my home, at a good time for us and were very patient letting me spend time, didn’t rush anything and I felt like they explained what was happening and took good care of us.The second was for my other very old dog who was having heart problems. They rushed us in right away, checked her out and gave (what I felt was good advice) for end of life care for her.The pricing was normal and affordable for the care I received.I felt everyone from front staff to vets and techs in back were very compassionate and caring.Thank you!

I called every veterinarian within 100 mi radius and nobody would see my cat even though I knew he was going to die. This veterinary clinic got me in and got him the urgent care he needed. Even though he passed away he was able to pass away in peace. Their prices are fair. They truly care about their clients. I will be a loyal customer from here on out as long as I live nearby.

We took our lab in knowing he wasn’t doing well. The vet that met with us took the time to explain what was going on with our beloved dog and the options we had. Ultimately, we made the decision to end his suffering and she handled the situation with such delicacy and care. She was so caring and kind and she even brought in tissues for us as we said our goodbyes. She genuinely cared about our heartbreak as did the front desk lady, who also brought out tissues. I am so grateful for how they handled the situation and the kindness we were shown.

I was visiting from out of town and my german shorthair pointer got torn up in some barbed wire. Dr. McCoy took care of us on a Sunday, with no prior history with the clinic. He did a great job technically and his whole team was compassionate and caring for my girl.

The vets and helpers here are second to none. Helped my dog after a very long day where they were all tired. Wanted to help where another vet in town was more concerned about covid 19 than my animal. Went above and beyond and will forever be my vet clinic for all my animals. Thanks so much Animal Health!!!!Recently, I’ve been a bit disappointed. I really hope this changes soon. No temperature taken, misdiagnosis, very unhappy patients in waiting area that I’ve observed too. Hopefully this will turn around soon and get back to the great facility this used to be.

Customer service is horrible. They only care about the money and basically held my dog hostage until we paid in full amount. Receptionist were rude and stated we should of talked about payment plans when we first came in which was difficult because I brought my dog in for an attack and wasn't thinking about payment at that time.Update: Noticed my dogs ashes this morning and it brought up the story of when I took him to this vet for help and just talking about the customer service I received from the receptionist still upsets me. An unfortunate memory I will never be able to forget about this place.

Mixed feelings. I've always gotten good service there, one vet in particular we really like, though sometimes the reception at the front desk doesn't feel all that friendly. I wish they would've mentioned antacids to me when my kitty was so sick with kidney failure. I spent a lot of money for her to be hospitalized. They did a great job and she bounced back, briefly. If she'd had the benefit of antacids, she might still be with me for a short time longer. Her euthanasia was absolutely horrible. It was loud, seemed really rushed, and my baby was absolutely terrified. I've lived with nightmares about it for almost four months now. I always hold my babies when they pass, so it was nothing new. I've never had a euthanasia be so horrible.

My dog and I were stuck in La Grande due to weather and there were no pet-friendly hotel rooms available in town - I called Animal Health Center 2 hours before closing, and they were able to board my dog for an extremely reasonable price. Shout out to Suzanne for making this unexpected stop less stressful, and for being so kind and understanding to me and my pup. You're the best!!!

Had my dog seen today, I was worried about an issue that raised yesterday! I appreciated them willling to squeeze me in and see my pup quickly. Dr Danforth was amazing and super kind! This is not the first animal I have had seen there and have always had a wonderful experience with all of the doctors! Cant say enough kind things about them.

Couldn’t even diagnose my little dog right. They didn’t see that she had a heart murmur and a trachea that was almost collapsed. Not happy that I spent almost $300 dollars on nothing. All they wanted to do is clean her teeth.Update my little dog died because of you guys thinking a bad cough was from teeth. Ask any other vet and they said a cough like that means something is wrong. Not send you an your way because you don’t now what is going on. If you don’t know then you don’t know. Tell me and I could have seen someone else sooner. Shame on you guys. All about that money and not about the animals.

The whole staff went above and beyond when caring for our Ginger dog after being hit by a car. I'm convinced that she wouldn't be with us today if we had gone anywhere else. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Dr. McCoy and staff. You guys are the best!

I was traveling during Thanksgiving weekend and out of no where my dog got a horrible mouth infection. After frantically calling Vets in a 50 mile radius we came across Animal Health Center. They were absolutely incredible. They squeezed us in for exactly the time we'd be passing through La Grande. It was a Holiday and they were more than accommodating to our needs. They were knowledgeable and honest and didn't take advantage of us financially. Dr. Kelly even took time out her busy day to do a follow up phone conversation with us a couple weeks later when we were back in Portland and the symptoms reappeared. I'd highly recommend them to everyone!

My dog was hanging by his leg from a fence. They x-rayed, bandaged, kept him overnight and took good care of him. They communicated realistic expectations and possibilities, were professional, timely and I felt the services were well priced.

Animal Health Center helped us during the sudden and shocking illness of our 7 yo Aussie. Dr. Leon (I am so SORRY I cannot remember his last name), Dr. McCoy, and the entire staff were completely compassionate, helpful, and very kind. They got us in for a last minute visit right at closing and tried everything they could to save my boy. 3 hours later, Dr. McCoy came in and helped me take away my best friend's pain. Thank you so much. We will never go anywhere else after this experience.

I have been a patron of Animal Health Center for years. Through the years all of my " babies " have been treated like they were the staff's own. And when difficult decisions had to be made, I knew it was as heart wrenching for them as it was for me. If you're searching for a new new place to care for your pets I would highly recommend the Animal Health Center. Unless they ever go out of business ( heaven forbid ) I'll be a loyal patron as long as I have 4 legged babies in my life. Thank you to everyone at this wonderful place. Annette Brence

Very shocked with the price of the routine farm call in Elgin of $125. Plus, the exam fee of $50 when I received it, I called to get clarification from the shock and asked if I was in Island City how much would the routine farm call have been and they said $100. We were at my mom's place in the main part of Elgin and called the local vet for a simple horse wound. Our usual veterinarians in Enterprise charge $50 and $30 for a farm call so we were very shocked when we were expecting a normal farm call fee. NOPE really expensive!

The stuff were very kind and caring. They did everything they could to save my cat even when they didn't have to, they went above and beyond. The only complaint I have is with they're receptionist Susanna I believe is her name. The only thing I will say is o believe she needs to tune up on her customer service skills.

Leave your expectation for friendly service at the door. This place is clinical but the care is overqualified. Prices are reasonable. If you are wishing for a more personable experience, this is not the place for you. If you just want good vet care, it does the job well.

Had a baby turkey whose ankle tendon slipped off the bone, causing his leg to splay out and impossible to walk on. I will give the vet a benefit of a doubt since she's never worked with birds but just a little note, if you're going to put on a splint that worsened his condition, don't dislocate his leg while doing it and charge me $100+ for your "service".

I would like to give a special thanks to the wonderful staff. I used their boarding facility for my dog and I know that she got the best care! So for anyone needing boarding or animal health care - THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST! Also their prices are great too
