Total great place with great prices and customer service. They know their stuff and do amazing builds. I’ve had 2 builds already by them and going to get more. The reptiles are well taken care of and they are already handled a lot which makes them great and easy pets to handle.

This place is awesome! Owner was beyond helpful picking the right pet for us and put together an INCREDIBLE enclosure. He went above beyond in communicating with us and giving advice on how best to care for the animal, including a reference for the right vet in town for our tortoise. Places like this are why you don't go to big box chain stores for an important decision like selwcting and sourcing a pet.

10/10 best reptile shop in Salem, probably the best in Oregon honestly. The owner cares so much about the animals welfare and makes sure they have the best bioactive enclosures possible.Here are pics of some of the adorable reptiles I've got from Urban Jungle so far, though I know I'll definitely be coming back for more 😊

Seems like others have shared my experience. The owner definitely seemed big headed but after reading his responses to bad reviews I'm sure he's a man child. Talk a big talk but is very condescending and scoffs the whole visit.He said hermit crabs need a 100 gallon minimum, when the first time I went in there he said the 55 was perfect.He also scoffed when I said frogs need to climb. They like tall spaces. He stated hermit crabs and bearded dragons are abused the most but his bearded dragons living conditions are tiny and sad. Why sell them anyways if you're going to complain about people buying them.His monitor lizard was also in a far too small enclosure.He told us a story on how he knows the distributor we bought the hermit crabs from are liars. He stated he sold them wild caught animals, and told them that but they advertised as "bread in captivity."My question is why are you doing business with wild caught animals in the first place?

Owner is super friendly and very knowledgeable. My husband has bought quite a few tarantulas from him now, and always talks about how competitive the pricing is. I would highly recommend Urban Jungle to anyone looking for top quality products, and a very inviting atmosphere.

I can't say enough good things about this store. The owner is very knowledgeable and the animals are healthy. Those are the basics I look for and here are the other reasons I am impressed. This is a bioactive reptile store. Every enclosure is elaborately built and upgraded for the needs of the inhabitants with the health of the animal as priority. Everything you need to get started and/or maintain your own is available as well. If you don't know anything about bioactive enclosures or if you're simply looking for a good resource, give this place a visit.The prices are also reasonable. When the animals are thriving and you aren't upcharged for every item, there is no reason to try to grab bargains from unreliable sources.Oh, and I'm crazy about the soil sold here. I've built three new terrariums, upgraded a few others and isopod enclosures with the soil from this store. It's bioactove soil and every bag is the same great quality that keeps my animals and plants thriving. A huge shout out to the owner and others involved who make this store amazing.

There are many products in store, fairly knowledgeable staff, and some things are overpriced, but gotta make a profite somewhere I get it. Beautiful enclosures. Didn't talk about the business that was there before them very professionally, but to be honest, better selection and displays. Wish it didn't feel like going into a pawn shop environment when I'm going into a bio active store. 😕 but have bought from them probably will again in the future.

**Updated below.**First I would like to point out that any negative review gets a very rude response from the owner. From my perspective that shows a lack of professionalism and integrity. Next I have observed interactions between the owner and other customers. Most of which the owner has been either disinterested in good customer service, especially new customers or condescending without inquiring about the customers level of experience with the isopods, snakes, frogs, and lizards he sells. Dude talks a big game but leaves alot to be desired with people skills. Lastly the conditions in which he keeps his endlers in is horrible. I chose 3 stars because the store is decent but the owner leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to customer service.So now you're accusing customers you assume to be a couple of stealing isopods from your store? Where's your proof? That is a serious accusation with heavy consequences. That makes me wonder if you even consider the impact of your words before you speak or write them....j Your response just demonstrates my previously stated points while showing just how far you are willing to go in an attempt to defame ones character to make yourself look better. SMH.

My husband and I drove down from Portland yesterday to check this place out, and I am so glad we did! Owner was super knowledgeable and gave us some great advice. We are looking into getting a crested gecko and will definitely be back. Well worth the drive.

I loved everything about this place. The staff are genuine and didn’t pressure me into buying when I showed interest but they helped me put my head straight for what I wanted. They didn’t get annoyed when I didn’t know anything and let me ask a million questions. They even let me stay past closing when I had more questions, I didn’t feel pressure to leave. I’m excited to get my custom tank from them!

Just went in today for some Dubia roaches and while they didn't have any in stock, the owner recommended a similar feeder that's easier to breed. The prices are really good and he's partnered with some other really cool small businesses. He makes his own 3D backgrounds as well so I'll definitely be back at some point for one of them! I was the only one in there so he took the time to walk me through the shop and showed me all the animals and explained his breeding projects and it was really cool! I 100% will be back for feeders and other small things I may need for my critters. The environment ( even though he's still setting up) is awesome and him and his wife seem like great people.

Thank you Eric at Urban Jungle. Eric sold me a Banana Ball Python for my daughter's Christmas present and she loves it!!! Eric helped us with all the information we needed to know and questions we had. He even helped set up our snakes 🐍 aquarium with everything it needs. I will definitely recommend 👌 this reptile store to everyone!!

This place rocks Eric knows his reptiles and his wife knows her arachnids that for sure. Best pricing I've seen around very reasonable on getting set ups and the knowledge in his head man is amazing. Best reptile shop there is around if u need feeders he's get the best never a problem best sources for feeders and breeders no inbred animals or bad kept reptiles he cares about every animal he carries and animals other ppl have if your in the market hit him up. He can help with just about any situation and if he can't he knows who can. Support local not incorporated Pet Co and PetSmart have nothing on him besides a bigger store.

I drove an hour to visit this place and I'd do it again! I came for some isopods that were in stock but next time I know to come with extra spending money because it's a haven for all things bioactive. The plants for sale are beatiful and healthy, and the owner even makes his own soil mix for sale along with great prices on the components in it like fine charcoal, coco coir, all that good stuff. Come just to see the gorgeous palidariums! and leave with something new. :)

I'm stoked to have a local reptile shop in Salem now! Eric really has a passion for this and he was so patient with all my 4 year olds questions. He also custom makes incredible, realistic looking rock back walls out of foam for tanks. We'll be going here from now on for our ball pythons food!
