Beautiful place and easy to find off the highway. Great place for senior dogs. My 12 yr old beagle basset mix had a good time.The only thing I would change is instead of me bugging them to ask how my dog was doing. Maybe write a simple thing in his portal or text me saying he had a good day and enjoyed smelling while out walking and even if he made a friend ( since he couldn't be in doggy daycare my only request was him to socialize with other dogs since he lost his best buddy our other dog a few months prior, so I was also having a hard time him being alone.) Pictures are great but I wanted to know a little more.I felt like I was sending my old man to camp for the first time and wanted to make sure he had a good day since he couldn't tell himself.

They treated our boy so well! For the first time he was happy, clean, and himself, after being at a boarding facility! The staff is ridiculously friendly and helpful and they obviously care about the animals. Our dog can't wait to go back!Edit: I wanted to add our dog is notoriously difficult when it's time to have his nails trimmed and not only did they do so, but they were handsomely done, without any apparent trauma as he still let us grab and play with his feet that afternoon! Well done!

New to Oregon and we needed to find a good facility whom we trusted when we were on the road. After visiting many Salem area boarding facilities we quickly settled on Ankeney Hill Resort and Boarding. They have a great staff, their facility is clean and well equipped and systems in place to address unusual situations that come up. They also provide many options for your dogs care including special activities or services. We are very happy with their service. Jamie in the office has been very helpful!

We brought our pup to these wonderful folks and they have been nothing but amazing. Mylo wasn't a fan the first time due to be anxious and it being new. They allowed for me to bring my dog in for a few hours each day after and made him feel very comfortable! He now seems to enjoy being there and the staff is amazing! I would send someone here in a heartbeat! Thank you guys for taking care of my pup Mylo

Should have zero stars as a former employee I can say I’ve seen dogs attacked and abused here. The ‘trainer’ isn’t even a real trainer and I’ve personally seen her kick barnaby the fire dog in the stomach and slap her own dog in the face. I’ve also seen dogs get there at 8am and have no water till noon. On a 100+ day! This place also treats their employees terrible and steal all tips and pay their employees 14$ a real living wage! It’s Bad business and they treat your animals terribly they can keep deleting my reviews but I’ll keep writing them! This place needs shut down and if you love your animals please don’t send them here.

Ankeny Hill has been an incredible place for our dogs Probie and Barney. In the fall 2023 we did basic and advanced training with Alexa. She is fantastic and we all learned so much! Barney at only 11 months became at certified therapy dog which we credit training and experience at Ankeny Hill. We continue to do doggie daycare and both pups lose their minds when I get on I-5, in other words they can’t wait to go to daycare, see the staff and their furry friends! We are always greeted with a happy, friendly employees who absolutely loves Probie and Barney. The staff is always accommodating, and the groomer and grooming services are great too. I will continue to refer people to Ankeny Hill and would highly recommend it!

They have several different boarding packages. Your dog gets individual and dog play time. They are very organized and take good care of your dog. They offer vaccines and grooming. One thing to note if you are headed south on i5 the gps tells you to turn left from the offramp. Dont. You have to turn right and entrance is just ahead on the right. After you go through the entrance stay to the left to get to the office. I highly recommend ankeny for boarding your dog. I have never had them say no availability. Fyi pickup time is before noon on sunday or psy for another day.

Seems like a nice place and our dog enjoyed his stay. The big selling point for us was we were told we would get daily updates with pictures. We had to ask for pictures and updates which wasn't a big deal. Our dog loved it there.We will definitely bring our little pup back here anytime we leave town. Everyone was really nice. The pictures and videos we got after asking were great. Our pup looked like he had a blast and he got a bath before picking him up so he smelled nice. They have tons of acres to walk dogs and a big pond for swimming.

My Loki was a happy, tired pup after I picked him up. I boarded him for a week and was sent picture updates. I also appreciate that they do evaluations for each dog before they are able to do community playtime with the others. I plan on boarding him here again when we go out of town in the future.

My boys were very happy to see us .. I could tell they had an awesome stay .. they were happy not trying to race out .. I had them give the 2yr old Harper the Schoodle a couple walks to help him with his high output drive ! Paxton almost 9 yrs old he had plenty of play time .. they looked like they had a very pleasant vacation ! Definitely recommended! new vacation spot ! Thanks Staff for taking excellent care of my fellas !!

Our Border Collie, Rip, spent 8 nights at Ankeny Hill while we were on vacation. We couldn’t imagine taking him anywhere else after his first stay here.The drop off was smooth and easy. They coordinated some shots he had coming up, and at our request even trimmed his nails and bathed him the morning we picked him up.He has a GPS collar which the battery usually lasts a week or two, but he was so active there that it died in just a few days! Other kennels we’ve been to he gets nowhere near that amount of playtime/activity.Rip came home CLEAN, HEALTHY, and tired; if we could give Ankeny Hill 10/5 stars, we would in a heartbeat and we will definitely be back!

This is hands down the best dog boarding, daycare and dog obedience training in Salem and the surrounding areas. My pup LOVES this place and more importantly he loves everyone who works there. The staff is extremely knowledgable and experienced with dogs and they create a loving, safe and fun place for my pup to hang out during the days or boarding. It feels like they are his family too!

The family that runs this boarding service is wonderful! The owners are professional, caring, and responsive. All the things you want in a caretaker for your furry family members. We will definitely use them again.Our dogs had not been boarded before at all, so I was very nervous. They put me right at ease. I was able to do a tour and talk with them before deciding. They texted me photos of our dogs during their stay, so I was able to see their furry smiling faces and know they were having fun. The dogs came home tired, which means they played a lot while staying at Ankeny Hill.The website has all the information too, including pricing, right upfront which I like. Also, they reply to Facebook messages really quickly!

Hands down the best place to board your dogs, best place to get the shots that are offered there, and the friendliest staff out of any and all dog boarding places we have been to and tried. They send photos of the pups adventures giving you the good feeling of knowing they are loving every minute of it. They offer countless services for your pups including grooming, bathing, adventure/nature walks, community time, training, and so much more. We won't ever consider going anywhere else! My Mini Aussie has been going to Ankeny Hill Resort and Boarding for Daycare and Grooming since she was a puppy and we have always had a great experience! Professional from top to bottom. They offer full hair cuts, trims, baths nails, everything! They have done full cuts and sanitary trims for my pup and she always comes home looking and smelling great! AHR grooming is definitely worth your time and money!

My air conditioner went out, and I wanted to escape the incoming heatwave since I wouldn't have it fixed in time. So the easiest solution was to head to the coast for the weekend, but I couldn't find vacancy at a pet friendly hotel.I live in Jefferson, so this was an easy choice based off location. The facility is very nice, and the staff expressed much care. I felt comfortable placing my cat into their care having never met them prior. The price was reasonable, too. $42 for 2 nights (in air conditioned buildings). She probably didn't care for it, and would've much rather gone with me to the beach, but at least she was comfortable.I'm glad to have my cat back, but I'm still very thankful for this facility and the great people who make the magic happen. If I have to board my cat again in the future, I know exactly where to go!

We boarded our dog here for the first time and were very happy with this place. Definitely will be our go-to from now on despite being a bit out of the way for us. The staff are super friendly and attentive and Gunner was very happy when I picked him up. The rates are very reasonable and they offer special services too, like baths, which is a great convenience. Thank you so much for taking such great care of Gunner.

We left our babies for 2.5 weeks while we were out of the Country and had no issues. When we picked them up they were happy and clean. We will definitely continue utilizing Ankeny Hill in the future.

I picked up my dog today from a 1 week stay in a luxury suite and gold package costing almost $1000 .... my dog when brought to me STUNK from having to lay in her own feces... it was matted in her hair so the issue had clearly been happening all week and I was never contacted! After giving her a bath I found her neck and chest to be rubbed raw and bloody. This is neglect and abuse! This place should be shut down! IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR DOG DO NOT BOARD THEM HERE!!

Like most owners, my dogs are extremely important to me. I trust very few people to handle them, let alone an establishment to watch them. Ankeny Hill Resort and Boarding is absolutely amazing and understands the needs of large breed dogs. I did a tour before boarding them, and was amazed that all of the dogs staying there were quiet! It was peaceful and not chaotic like other places. The dogs go out to play numerous times a day so they are happily sleeping in their spacious, clean, and air conditioned kennel. My dogs slept the entire day after staying their first 2 night stay, and they didn't smell like urine like another place I used (which made me furious!). Beautiful property with a fantastic and clean facility! We've been back for another stay with another amazing result. It's a relief not having to worry about my pups and the great care they receive when we travel.
