What great people and service. Dropped in looking for dog tag ring and was treated so well. I even walked out with a dog cookie sampler. Will definitely go back here for future pet related products!

We recommend if you are within 75 miles of Hood river to stop in and see the folks at dog River. They have great food options, toys and everything else you might need for your pup or other animals.Seemed to be updated on raw brands and had several options. They made meatball work for treats(like we asked) and every body enjoyed the visit. We will be back next time we are even close to this area.We love these locally owned family run stores that are catering to the educated dog owner about nutrition, simulation and exercise.Stop by and give these folks a try we think you will be happy you did. Bring your pup and I think they may get a few treats too.Give this review a like and if you want to find other locally owned great pet stores follow us, we have to get food about twice a month and love to get meatball new toys so we are searching out places all the time.

Purchased expensive leash here that broke after 5 days. Asked if I could exchange for one that wasn't broken. They said no. I asked if they stand behind the product they sell. They said no. Disappointing when shopping at a local high priced store. Was hoping they'd do good service. Apparently not. Staff seemed overwhelmed and under supported. It was 4:45 PM and they said they hadn't even had a lunch break and seemed hangry. I think they're doing their best but could probably use additional customer service training, a break, and maybe some more support from owner/ management. The take-home-message I took from our discussion was that It sounded like the owner was uninterested in the business or their staff. Staff clearly overwhelmed.On other visits staff have been helpful and friendly. On this day, a short bob headed woman was pretty obviously having a hard day and wasn't quite keeping it together. Hope things got better for everyone later. Have spent lots of money here. Nice stuff, but they said their store policy is for customer to deal with manufacturer if there is an issue with merchandise. Not what I expect from a high priced retail store. I know you can do better Dog River!

Have a good friend that lives in Hood River and when their dog was diagnosed with cancer, Dog River and all the fabulous ladies there, rose up to help guide and support him through it. They were super knowledgeable about alternative treatments, and we are so grateful that with their help Mack could live his last days on earth as the happiest dog! Full of CBD and mushrooms he was able to eat all of his favorite foods and go on all the adventures. The vet noted that his lymph-nodes were remarkably less inflamed after the treatments and healthy diet, it was amazing to witness! Dog river knows their stuff!!Thanks for everything!! Taylor & Devan

Loved this shop! We stopped by when traveling to the area because our dog had broken his harness and we needed a replacement right away. Everyone at the shop was incredibly helpful! They helped us get a replacement harness and with the warranty with the manufacturer. We picked up a couple new leashes as well!The shop is super cute with a ton of top quality supplies and food. The staff is incredible too. We will be stopping by anytime we are in the Hood River area and need to pick up supplies for our pups!

Loved going in this store! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I went in looking for comfort measures for my dog, that has end stages of leukemia. The lady that helped me knew just the tincture to give me! She even checked to make sure it didnt affect the prescription meds that my dog is already taking.Oh and bonus, they gave me some free treats that my dog absolutely loved!I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for natural supplements for their fur babies!

Dog River Pet Supply is the best place I have ever been to for pet support. The staff here have so much knowledge on pet nutrition and all of my other pet needs. Every time I come in my dog and I are greeted by the staff that I have come to know and love! The food they have in stock is locally made and a full meals nutrition (Way better than anything you can get at a local grocery store). I always call or go in before I take my dog to the vet because of how much knowledge and support the staff has. There large inventory and staff knowledge has helped me with my dogs tummy problems and other issues. Dog River is an amazing community shop for pet owners and I feel so lucky to have a store like this so close to me.

Very lovely and organized shop! Staff were very friendly and helpful the whole time. Been living in Hood River for some time but never bothered to walk and look at the shops. Pretty mad at myself for not going to this store a long time ago! They have a large variety pet food, toys, even clothes! Would definitely be coming back in the future!

The folks there are very (maybe a little to much) available to offer help. The choices in foods is huge. Everything from cans, kibble, raw, frozen, imported, game and healthy. Great toy selection and lots of great snacks for our babies. I just love the cat/dog cubbie houses in different shapes. Very cool designs. Lots of choices and all great quality stuff but expensive.

My local pet store where I buy all my dog food. Very helpful staff and good selection of natural dog treats. We were recently looking for dog booties to protect his feet from the sharp seeds on the local trail there were very patient explaining and helping fit them.

Our new favorite shop in Hood River. Being “pet parents” is ruff! If you like to spoil your pup as we do ours, then this is a must stop. They even give out free baggies of treats! Shop their wide variety of bulk treats, pet foods, organic alternatives for medication and toys! Cat lovers, they even have stuff for you. Great place. 💜

This place is AMAZING! If you have questions or concerns about your pets' health and wellbeing, especially if you want to avoid conventional medical approaches that don't treat the root cause, then I'd recommend coming here before making an appointment with the vet. The staff is brilliant, and they have a vast understanding and arsenal of resources to support health optimization for our pets. My cat has had a skin issue that I've been working on for three years. I left here feeling more confident and equipped than ever to help her heal. The staff really care and I feel a sense of partnership with them as I help my cat that I have never once felt from going to a vet. 10/10 recommend!!!

Molly was super kind to us. We realized halfway to our road trip to Hood River we forgot to pack our pugs food. On the drive down his harness broke and I lost his leash! (Yikes) undeterred, Molly took us to their harnesses and leashes and helped us pick out the perfect harness with matching leash and then found the right kind of food for our dog. What a wonderful store with wonderful employees. Thank you!

Great store - good atmosphere, easy to find what you need, plus, local owners! The staff are so knowledgeable, helpful, attentive, and friendly! I was new to the idea of raw food and they helped me understand how to make the switch - I never felt judged for having my pets on a kibble diet - they were just happy that I was curious, asking questions, and wanted to take the best possible care of my pets! I really recommend stopping in and asking questions - Molly worked as a vet assistant in Portland for years and has a great foundation of knowledge for anyone looking to understand and help their pets live their healthiest and happier lives! Sean is a great listener and very patient. Both have been a tremendous help for our people & pet family - plus they genuinely love animals, so bring yours in for a scratch behind the ears!

We love Dog River Pet Supplies! We recently transitioned our dog to a raw diet and Sean was so helpful in making suggestions and even followed up with an email to make sure we had all the information we needed. Just this weekend we went back to stock up and we got more helpful nutritional advice on changes to our cat's diet and left armed with several samples for our picky girl to try. We love coming in because we always get great advice and are encouraged to bring back anything our pets don't like. So far, Fletcher and Amelia have been big fans of all the recommendations and I love having such a great local store that can meet the nutritional needs of our four legged family members.

This was probably the nicest pet shop I've ever been to, and I live in Sellwood. I have an anxious little pup who is also a picky treat eater. The (owner?) Of the store was so incredibly helpful in helping me pick out a CBD tincture to try out on my dog. The selection was phenomenal and had local and high end brands. I'll be happy to stop by again for treats the next time I'm in the Mt. Hood area!

Very friendly and helpful! We stopped in on our way through town with our new pup Murphy. They showed us their favorite training treats, explained the benefits of each kind. They were so sweet to us and the kids had a lot of fun picking out new toys for Murphy. Beautiful shop. Can't wait to come back through again.

I have been in this shop several times and they are always so patient with me, my toddler and my puppy! Very helpful and take the time to make sure the pups harness was the correct fit and some little treats to help her feel a bit more comfortable. But why did I log on today specifically to write a review for Dog River Pet Supplies? Because I've had my pup for months and she has always been very fearful of brushes. I've tried several and she always flips her lid. Today after discussing the problem and purchasing a brush that was recommended as being very comfortable and the best shot at overcoming her sensitivity I came home and brushed my dog for the first time! And she LOVED it and ended up collapsing in my lap soaking up all the pampering. Thank you guys so much :)

Molly, Sean and the rest of the staff who work here are absolute gems! They are so sweet and go above and beyond every time we go in. My dog is anxious and doesn't always do well with new people but they never stop trying to bribe her love with the best treats around. So grateful we have this little store in our town!
