Stopped in during a trip to Hermiston, was glad that I did. A good selection of hunting and shooting supplies. Prices were fair. What really stood out was the guy behind the counter was happy to engage in a conversation and able to offer suggestions. He knew the products and their pros/cons. Well done!

they like to racially discriminate any one they want that walks in thru their doors to be able to refuse them service such as purchasing any guns. only gun store in hermiston that has given numerous problems with refusing service and helping others.as i was in the store being the only mexican i was treated differently compared to the other 2 white folks that were in there. got accused of smelling like marijuana not once but twice in the past just for them to not help me. 100/10 recommend bi mart or ranch n home for any gun related purchases or transfers as ace outpost only help those who they want.

Seth and Robert at Smitty's Outpost saved my archery season. I had a limb delaminate on my bow during an archery elk hunt in eastern OR this season. Smitty's was the closest Mathews dealer in the area. I contacted them and they were able to rush order new limbs for me. 2 days later I was in their shop getting the new limbs attached and the bow retuned. They did a great job of setting things up and helping me return the bow to shooting bullet holes on the paper tuner. I went on to killing the 2 largest archery bulls and whitetail buck of my life as I continued my 2019 archery hunting tour. I owe a huge thanks to Smitty's Outpost and the crew there who saved my season.

Really liked this place when it opened. Hard to believe that it is associated with Ace since at the hardware store people are always friendly and helpful. After today’s visit I give up. Any business can have an ‘off day’ but the consistently rude treatment over the last year I can do without.

I have been going to Smittys for 6 yrs. As a brown person, they avoid talking to you. Several times I have gone in here and not gotten any help. I have been there 5 times straight and no one acknowledged me. The last time I was the only person there and the staff just kept talking to eachother. When the younger staff do talk to you they are very condescending. Absolutely no customer service. Instead of stopping in to check for reloading supplies, I call now, to avoid thier awkwardness.

So I was in there the week prior to today and purchased a complete new diamond edge 320 bow and all the goodies to go along with it, that was great but today I went in to get my tags for hunting and the owner had the nerve to get angry with his workers for taking the time to help me find the correct unit numbers. I was going to purchase a new fishing pole when I over heard him scolding his workers for helping me out. I will never bring my business back to this place!!!!!!!!! That’s a lot of business and money lost since I regularly spend a few hundred a week in there. Not any more I will gladly take my business to tri cities or farther if I have to. It’s the short little guy with glasses that owns it and who ruined my dealings with them! The workers at the counter were far beyond helpful and that’s all I can say positive

I didn't get his name but the gentleman was so helpful with helping me learn more about handguns and how to find the right one for me not just a sale. He showed me proper handling and wasn't annoyed about showing me all kinds of guns that he thought might suit me. Definitely recommend anyone looking for a gun to go there!!!!

My dad went in to get a hunting license , and the staff was so rude. He’s not 100% fluent in English but he understands it very well and speaks it well.When he asked questions they would laugh at him, they treated him very bad. He felt so uncomfortable he never wants to step a foot back in there. Worst staff/human beings ever.

Decided to run some early morning errands and was in need of some reloading supplies. I looked up the hours listed and it stated the hours for Sunday were 7am-7pm. I got the store around 7:50 am door was unlocked so I went in. No one was around so I wait about minute when the gal came out from the back. After looked at me dumbfounded for another minute, she finally stated that I needed to leave so she could count the tills (which were in her hand). I commented about the opening time listed online. At which she replied "oh we don't actually open til eight, you'll need to wait outside". I have always made this place my first stop when looking for sporting goods, as I prefer to support local, even if the Outpost prices are a bit steep and they can't get most the common items I've asked for. But after this experience I'll take my business else where which is about $5,000-7,000 annually. I myself work in customer service as well, at our store employees show up around 7 am but the doors official open at 7:30 am. If we have customer walk in early, we attend to them even if we are ready or not, we don't shoo them outside. Bottomline: I can no longer recommend this place if they can't be ready to service customers once the doors are unlocked.

Smitty's is my go to place for anything that has to do with hunting. I prefer to keep my money local and they make it easy. Prices are fair and they stand behind everything they sell. As for most of the people with the negative reviews.... I'm guessing they leave negative feedback pretty much everywhere. The owner (Randy) has gone out of his way to accommodate people and give back to the community more times than I can count.

Overpaid for rotten fishing worms. I know better than to not check but that's exactly what I did. If you buy worms here...check em out!I just received a message from the store offering to get me fresh worms at no charge! Thank you for that. This is why I am changing my 2 star rating to a 4 star! I do appreciate the personal and prompt response!

I like Smitty's Ace Outpost. They nearly always have what I'm looking for & at a decent price. It's right off the road going through Hermiston. Easy access & the owner/staff are quite knowledgeable & friendly.This time I was looking for a 'bore-snake' to ease the cleaning process on firearms (they come in many calibers). I called ahead and they said they had what I was looking for. I was pleased but not really surprised.Smitty's has a fantastic selection of reloading equipment/components/powders/firearms, fishing gear/tackle & camping gear.Check 'em out, y'all won't be disappointed. Giddy up!Y'all guessed it, bought a new firearm today. Just waiting on the background check to clear.Randy Smith assisted me personally. I told him what I was looking for and he showed me a couple options. This man knows his stuff pertaining to firearms!The 'waiting game' for background checks is the difficult part. "Happy thoughts y'all, sometimes they go through rapidly!" Thanks Randy.Y'all have an awesome business! Giddy up.

Went in to buy my mom a firearm was talking to a gentlemen letting my mon hold different hand guns to see what fits her. The lady behind the counter pushed the other gentlemen helping me away and started being very unprofessional and telling me what I know and don’t know making my mom uncomfortable as she knows the extent of my firearms training and knowledge. I will not or never be buying a firearm from here ever again. You need better people working behind the counter.

First of all they price gouge. I had my girlfriend go buy a little snub nose .38 for herself while I was out of town. They charged her 100 dollars over list, and they knew it. I called them when I got back to town and their "manager" immediately went on the defensive and threatened to hang up on me. Very unprofessional, I won't be doing any more business with them.

Did an FFL exchange...was quick and easy. The counter was great. They have a lot of options in hand guns to rifles, etc. Should check em out if your looking for a new setup accessories or whatever.

Love. This. Place! Large selection of firearms, ammunition, accessories, reloading supplies and archery equipment. The staff I have encountered so far are knowledgeable, helpful, have a desire to get you outfitted with what you came here for and on the chance the store does not have what you're looking for, they are more than willing to direct you somewhere that does.
