Clean facility with professional staff that are there to enrich the quality of life for these animals. If you are an animal lover then show some support to these amazing folks. We couldn’t be happier with our fur-baby. Thank you to Beu and staff members!!

We decided to surrender two of our cats because they're outdoor cats, and even though theyre great with people (kids too!), they were being too aggressive toward other cats. We tried rehoming them, so this was our last resort. The woman who took their information and got them settled was very kind, and she kept calm even though the moment that place opened, the phone went crazy and the parking lot filled up. I hope Bandit (NM) and Shadow (SF) find a new place to hunt critters and give loves to their peeps.

I have had good experiences with the Hermiston pet rescue. I adopted my kitty here over a year ago and she is the sweetest Demon! She is a demon cat and I also love her very much! Spicy kitty. Also, my sweet little doggie was brought in and Beau was nice to respond to my email to them in regard to ensuring that she was there, safe and the time I could pick her up.I am thankful that we have this service available to not only Hermiston but the surrounding towns as well.

I’ve lived in Oregon for roughly 12+ years and anytime a family member needed a new addition to the family we recommend Pet Rescue. We have family in Washington and the Portland area who have gotten several of their pets from Beau. My husband & I adopted our “Sweet” Hunny from Pet Rescue back in 2019. The day we picked her up and a current picture today.❤️

I have adopted several dogs from pet rescue in Hermiston. The staff were friendly and even allowed me to come after hours to do a meet and greet with my dog to meet another dog I was wanting to adopt. My most recent adoption was Jake in March 2022. He has settled into our home with two other dogs, three cats, and kids. I highly recommend adopting a fur baby from Hermiston Pet Rescue.

Nothing but positive experiences with Pet Rescue! They have a high adoption rate and offer frequent specials to help find animals their forever home as much as possible. Beau helped us peacefully, lovingly and respectfully put down our dear old golden retriever after he suffered a severe stroke. A short time later we found our new family dog at Pet Rescue, a beautiful and excellent mannered rott/sheperd/hound mix that's full of personality. I personally know many people who have had nothing but good experiences at Pet Rescue. Highly recommend them as an option for your next family animal!

Always thankful for the help I received when I found this old boy. 💞 Brought him in as a stray and Beau allowed me to foster him for his 5 day stray hold. We didn't want this old gentleman to be kenneled unnecessarily! After 5 days and no owners, I decided I couldn't let Charlie go, and adopted him! Great experience with the folks at Pet Rescue.

Had a great experience back in December, we adopted a beautiful border collie and she was healthy and well taken care of! Thank you for all the help and we will continue to direct others to your shelter!

I adopted a puppy from them a year and a half ago. They are by far the easiest shelter to adopt from, within I'd say about 2 hours drive time, as in the don't ask many question. You hand them money and walk away with an animal.I went back to get another dog about 8 months later. He had a choke collar on that was so tight I could hardly get it off of him. I ended up taking him back the next day because my dog hated him and sent him back with a new collar, and treats, and was informed that the collar would go with whichever dog got adopted first as they "don't leave collars on them." Which I found odd since he came with a collar when I had bought him the day before.Overall I think things could be handled better, there could be a better vetting process for new owners. But the place was at least clean. The manager was a little short when I had a question but then other staff was happy too answer my question.

Love this place! You can see that Beau really cares for the animals and does so much for them and for the people to come here; whether it’s to adopt, or if it’s for some assistance in caring for their fur baby.I’ve adopted four dogs and a kitten from here and they’ve all been wonderful additions.I also love their thrift shop as well! Great finds at amazing prices! I give my unwanted treasures to them to help the animals.

When I was younger while getting my GED I got the opportunity to work side by side at the humane society with the owner and still to this day it was one of my best experiences of my life. Since my high school years have gone into the humane society and have had nothing but amazing experiences and the people that work there do their best to help save the animals around this area I commend them for the hard work that they do and how they are able to stay positive in very negative situations. They do one of the most difficult jobs and they have such the biggest hearts. I know I appreciate them. 😁

Glad our town has this service but it's turning into a "for-profit" style business. Let's say you are in an accident and In the hospital for a week...they're gonna turn around and sell your beloved animal back to you or if you can't afford the storage fee, they're gonna put it up for "adoption " and sell it to someone else. I understand, they need to give it a rabies shot, but I know my dog don't eat no $20 a day in food. They say they have to get costs from somewhere but that is what all the government grants are for. If they aren't covering your expenses than put in the time and apply for more there are plenty out there you just have to apply. You can be as greedy with the gov as you want and we are still paying it with our taxes.

This pet rescue is the best!!! We love it! Everyone is so kind. The animals look so clean happy and well loved. The environment is so kind and friendly. We go there almost every week! All of the donations from the thrift store go to feeding the animals at the shelter. This is one of the jems of Hermiston! Thank you so much guys! You're awesome!

On 3/31/21, I was in the ER very sick. My daughter took my dog Billy and called an ambulance. Later that night I was released to my daughter’s care. She took me home and arranged for the retirement home to look in on me daily. On April 1, my daughter and her family flew to San Diego on vacation. When I heard from them, I wanted to know how and where to pick up Billy. That is when I learned that they had put him up for adoption on the 31st. My daughter said that because of spring break there were no openings at any of the boarding facilities. I wanted details about who adopted him. They did not know. I called the facility to see if I could learn Billy’s fate. They would not work with me in any way. My daughter also tried to contact them and they refused to do anything. BEWARE!!! When you give up an animal to these people, you are throwing them into a black hole and no records are kept. Also, there is no connection to the federal Humane Society. My next complaint will be to the IRS to see how their tax exemption is maintained and that they do not keep any records of adoptions. I am 77, sick. and very depressed over Billy. He was my whole life. The tears just keep coming.

Coordinated with Director Beau Putnam to borrow a live trap for an abandoned dog at a Corps recreation area. Myself and another ranger had been trying for 2 days to coax him into a kennel to no avail. Mr. Putnam not only provided a live trap which was successful, but took excellent care of Bark Ranger Kai and ensured he was adopted by a loving and responsible family in a reasonable amount of time.Mr. Putnam was professional, kind, and generous in his position and is clearly an authentic man with animals' best interests in mind. His partnership with my agency made our jobs a little easier and I would recommend working with him to any responsible party looking to adopt.Thank you again!!

I love pet rescue for the good that they do for the community. In the 30+ years that I have lived in Hermiston, I have adopted a fur baby and have taken a few strays there. They have always been very kind and professional. Beau is very compassionate when you are looking for your missing pet as well. When I lost mine, he did everything he could to help me find her. Thank you Pet Rescue!!

After months of consideration I finally took the leap to go to pet rescue to find a furbaby to call my own. Beau was extremely helpful and answered every question I had about the dogs without any problem. Overall the adoption process was a great success and I found a dog that is going to suit my lifestyle and needs perfectly and couldn’t be happier with my decision to come and adopt at Pet Rescue! I will definitely go back if I ever decide to add another addition to the family. So here’s to my new baby Count and our many adventures to come.

We had been looking for a mini daschund for a long time. Every time we found one it was gone in seconds or the shelter wanted a non refundable deposit to hold them. I called Beau the second we saw "Oscar" on pet finder. He was amazing, said he'd hold the little guy for us until we could get there the next day. It was a 3 hour drive. I called when we realized we were going to be 15 min after opening. No problem he said. When we arrived he brought out the little low rider and let my husband walk him through the cats and outside. Because he was older he was already not expensive compared to Portland. Then we got a 4th of July sale. On top of that they offered a rebate if we got him neutered. There is absolutely no way we were asking for money back. This was our first experience adopting and it was the best experience!

Back in 2010 Beau helped me to catch the towns Highway dog and her puppies. I am forever grateful for having had sweet Belle in my life.I got my Dharma from there. She was there when I came to help with a truck wreck that had dozens of dogs on it. When we brought them all to the shelter I spotted Dharma and I had to have her. She was so tiny.Fast Forward to March of 2021...I adopted my precious Clover from there. I love her to pieces and am so thankful to have spotted herIn July of 2021 Beau brought me a sick kitten, she was dying. I told him I doubt that she will make it, but he believed I could help her. She is 2 now and one ornery crazy kitty. I am grateful that he brought her to me...she is one of my dogs best friend.

This place is wonderful. My daughter helps at the pet shelter weekly while I browse the thrift shop. All the staff are super helpful and nice, we've never had a problem. Only reason I give them 4 stars instead of 5 is that the smell with the animals is sometimes really strong. It's a pet shelter though, so to be expected. Everything is really clean, it's just the animals.
