Would advise another store. Always get attitude from employees. I get it; they across street from local soup kitchen and only liquor store on this side of river so its a rough area.For reference I try them every couple months and sadly decide to not go again. I live in walking distance but rather drive the two miles to next closest grocery store.

I like this store. I shop mainly in the produce area, and they have a great organic selection of fruits and veggies. The quality appears to be better than at Fred Meyer, so I make Safeway my first stop now. Yes, there are some strange people that lurk around outside of the store, but nobody has ever bothered me.

The downtown Safeway just seems to be slacking some. Many products I buy are often put of stock. I have to drive to Albertsons to get them. However, the checkers are great. Been shopping here for 28 years. More so since I work near by and hit the store after work.

Today I had the most unpleasant experience in my whole 30 years or more of shopping here! I went to the first check out and a lady was finishing up paying. I set my things down on the counter and the checker says "excuse me ma'am, I'm with someone right now!!"( In a very snippy tone) I replied yes, I know. She then says, "you need to back up!!!!" She hasn't finished paying yet!!" I was at least 10 ft away from the customer because she was on the other side of the counter putting her bags in her cart. And I was at least 3 feet away from where you pay!! She acted like COVID rules were in place right now!! Which they are not!! COVID rules have been long gone and I was plenty far back enough!!! After that, I said to her, I'll just go through self checkout, thank you. Mostly all the workers have been so nice to me over the years. Well today, that was not the case. I wish I would have asked the lady for her name, but she was so rude, that I just left her line and went through self checkout. And what's funny is, the customer who was finishing up was my friend, who I haven't seen in awhile and we always greet each other with a hug!! That rude lady made it so awkward, that I couldn't even give my friend a hug. She was working the express first checkout and was older with short grey hair. I'll make sure to never go through her line again!!! If I even come back!

my experience here today was frustrating. customer service had a sign directing me to the front register. i waited, the line was long and took maybe 15 mins for the single cashier to get to me. i was informed customer service is closed. only after a stern-esk inquiry i was told the lady is out to lunch and will be back. i decided to wait at the service counter as the need was important to me. i was told again they're closed. i called and found out albertsons offers the same services. i left safeway arrived at albertsons and left satisfied. no waiting & sevice desk was open. NOTE everyone was polite as they told they could not help me.TLDR: safeway's entire customer service department was out to lunch. went to albertsons, no issues.

We just checked out with cashier Kim and while I was trying to read the survey on the key pad she reached around and marked 10. I thought this was super shiesty. We also got overcharged for strawberries which I didn’t notice until after we left but I’d say almost every time I shop here I have to have a price correction because something rings up higher than it’s marked, seems intentional.

Went in to purchase bone in rib eye steaks that are on sale for 6.99/lb,asked butcher if there were anymore and he told me they were instructed not to cut any.There was plenty of the boneless ones for 9.99/lb for sale🤔after talking to someone when I called corporate number was told they might be out of product?? Are there boneless cows now🤣😂bone in and boneless come from the same cow..just trying to get the customer to pay the higher price😡😡this was Gp store on 7th st,store across bridge(Williams hwy has both

My family were in from out of town and had 2 great experiences here- from a friendly cashier to another awesome employee making amazing sandwiches for us at the deli for our trip up to Crater Lake (and we’re from NY so a compliment on the sandwich is a big deal). There seems to be a nice team working here- thank you!

Needed to get a flower arrangement for someone that just had a terrible family tragedy. The florists were on lunch and Sheri stepped up to help us even though this wasn't her department or area of expertise. She was kind, compassionate, and extremely helpful. The kind of customer service you just don't see much of these days. Thank you Sheri!!

I really like Safeway. I extremely appreciate their free Wi-Fi. I also love the discounts available when using the Safeway app. I always check out what I can add to my list and save big on before I go shopping there. Lastly, I really like their pharmacy. The line can be extremely long often times but there is a lady that works there that is super nice. I always enjoy seeing her when I go pick up my father-in-laws prescriptions.

Unfriendly staff. Especially those mask wearers. I’m sorry but you don’t get to tell someone they need to put a cart away. Lol especially when there were carts left everywhere. Store is awkwardly set up. Entrance is awkward coming in and out. Traffic by the doors is terrible. The cart corral is awkwardly placed. Store is built and designed ridiculously.

I waited 20 minutes for customer service to show up! After they told me they would be right with me. The worst customer service! So many employees just walk by and don't care why your standing there waiting for service! Horrible experience. Then when I did get someone it was so superficial and they couldn't care less!

This is my local go-to store. I love it.UPDATED 8-23-2022 We've been sick so doing our regular in-store shopping was out of the question. We shopped online and scheduled a pickup at this store. I am happy to say that the fresh produce selections were exactly what I would have chosen myself. Thank you Safeway Shopper for making my first online purchase a success!!! I will still shop in person but now know I can use online with good results too. Recommended.

The pharmacy staff is super helpful and nice! The store has a small town feel. They offer hot and cold prepared food. The one bad thing is that the staff wasn't enforcing the posted mask policy. Customers were shopping without masks. The staff did nothing.

I've been to many Safeways in a few different states and have had pretty much the same experience at all of them. They're busy, stuff is easy to find, prices are average, and the check-out lines move quickly.

Even tho the Williams Hwy Safeway is under renovation, they still have a well stocked store. Staff is helpful and friendly. My only complaint is the jalapeños bagels from the bakery needs improvement.

If you have health problems that make it difficult or dangerous for you to shop in store for your groceries, there’s something wonderful about this Safeway that makes my life EXPONENTIALLY EASIER AND SAFER with ease and great selections.The “pick up from store” aka “drive up and go” option is a lifesaving game changer and Mike and the rest of the team are AMAZING. It may seem odd or exaggerated but they literally IMPROVE my quality of life with long Covid and Congenital Heart Failure (thanks Covid).Thank you to Safeway for bringing Drive Up and Go to Grants Pass , but the biggest thanks goes out to the team behind Drive Up and Go for ALL of their help !!!!!!!!

Only not five stars cause the place tends to feel a bit dirty. The shelves are kind of grimy when you pull stuff off. The deli staff are super friendly though and everyone at the registers are incredibly helpful and patient too.

Love this Safeway, all the employees are super nice. Deli and Starbucks crew are superhuman multitaskers and cashiers are keep the longest lines moving super fast. I appreciate the floor staff keeping the store fully stocked and presentable. Thanks for doing a great job!!!

Is the Safeway in town in Grants Pass Oregon as Oregon is not very good I like the one on Williams highway much better they are a lot nicer and friendlier friendlier customer service the 1 in town we did what they said to do with your start card when you have to clip and put stuff on your card till you can get the digital coupons coupons we did exactly what the customer service person said And it didn't work the person when we went to check out she was very rude And acted like we were taking up her time because she was trying to show us how to do it a different way and was getting more and more mad when I was trying to explain to her that we were trying and did it the digital ad just what we wanted and she kept arguing and I was trying to tell her we've done this once before and it wasn't and it was on the coupon deal so you get on the card on the app and she wasn't listening and she kept saying that kept saying that we were lucky that no one went behind us or she couldn't be doing what she's doing with us I'm sorry we were trying to understand we did what we were told by customer service The one here in town is not nice I love the Safeway I'm running I'm highway that they are friendly they always ask if they could help you or find anything but this 1 isn't the simple I do not deal with the safeway here in town but trying to get to the other 1 I'm running in Taiwan is not that easy going across the bridge with traffic anymore I wish the manager Could figure out what's going on with the Safeway in downtown Grants Pass because it's getting worse
