I adopted a dog, Molly, in April 2023. She was highly leash reactive and aggressive. She could not be with other dogs, she was not pleasure to walk. We began attending Learn and Play. Jessica, the head trainer, was a gift to us both. 10 months after adopting my wild child, Molly is a social butterfly. She loves to play with other dogs, meets and greets new dogs in a polite manner, is a joy to take on walks any place we want to go. She earned her Canine Good Citizen title just 6 months from beginning classes (Learn and Play and Obedience). Since then she has earned her Novice Trick Dog and Urban Dog titles. Molly would not be where she is today without every single person at Home Away From Home taking the time with her and showing her love and understanding.

Unfortunately this used to be a wonderful place to take your animal for daycare and grooming. But it’s gone down hill the level of rudeness from them tells the story I get the feeling the people aren’t happy to work there and are taking it out on the humans bringing their animals in. I will not be taking our Dogs there any longer and will fine a place that more welcoming and friendly.

Took my pug Benny to Home away from Home and they were wonderful and extremely friendly and most importantly they took great care of my precious Pug. I will use them for taking care of my dog again without hesitation.Met the boss who extremely nice and a fellow Pug owner.

Staff is very friendly and kind, always with the best interest of our dogs in mind. Our dogs have used the overnight boarding, daycare, doggy play groups, and dog training classes. All have been excellent. So glad to have a local boarding facility we can trust!

We had to board our 3 puppies for about 5 weeks at this location. We visited quite often and everybody was super nice and the puppies were pretty happy. They offer some extra services like grooming a nail clipping and the service is wonderful.

The girls in grooming got acquainted with Jethro while I filled paper work out, this was his 1st appointment with Home Away From Home grooming. He didn't act nervous by the time they took him back to get his groom on! He was a Happy Pup when I picked him up, Thank You Alana and to everyone there

Absolutely LOVED having Angel groom my boy Sarge! She listened to what I had to say at drop off and had great insight on what to expect groom wise. He didnt have to stay all day and I really liked that she got down on his level to pet and greet him at drop off. He had a blast and he looks so handsome!!! This was his first professional groom and he will definitely be coming in again to get pampered again!!😊

Cat needed a shave in his nether regions due to his long hair, poor grooming habits, and fear of the brush. Home Away From Home was one of the only groomers in town that would even shave a cat. After having the vet's office fax over my cat's immunization records, I brought him in. Was quoted $55 or higher depending on his behavior. They were done in about 10 minutes, said my cat was an angel, and since he only needed select spots shaved, they charged me considerably less than the quote. 10/10, would have them shave my cat's butt again.

Cadeau spent 4 nights... his first boarding experience. He's happy. I'm happy. Boarded our cockatoo and blue/gold macaw back in 2001 (they don't board birds anymore), but great then. Great now.

I have taken my dog Mundo “Moony!” here for almost a year now. I first walked through with Michelle, the kennel side manager, to get a feel of the place. My dog would be considered "nervous which triggered aggressive". In the first couple of months I brought him in with a muzzle on, for the safety of the staff as well as other animals. It was how I felt comfortable - as his owner. It's only took a month or two for both of us to be comfortable enough to NOT have to have the muzzle anymore. My dog was a very sociable dog, until he was attacked at the dog park. He's been fearful ever-since that incident, until I started bringing him here. The staff have been very understanding with my own fears and concerns. They have been patient, caring, understanding and completely considerate of everything I have done for them.Moony is now one of the most sociable (Towards Dogs), I’ve ever seen him. His aggression level is considerably lower, and his confidence has improved greatly. I wouldn’t take my dog anywhere else. Home away from Home is exactly as the title says.. My pooches Second Home. He loves almost everyone there, and they love him.The animals there are treated amazingly. The “Use of choke” collars, that many people seem to be posting about, as brought by the clients, and it is what the dogs are used to wearing. While I don’t agree with the use of pinch collars, if the client brings it in, the staff do not remove it. People are jumping to conclusions from the outside instead of watching what actually is going on. The staff are always so attentive and caring. I am so pleased I found this place, and it’s worth every cent I have paid.

Stop! You have found the place you are looking for! Unsure of who you can trust in Grants Pass with your dog? So was I! Lots of bad stories going around, however nothing but good comes out of Home Away From Home. Every single staff member here legitimately seems to love their job and all the animals in their care.I have been bringing my Newfoundland mix here for various things since she was 4 months old, and I fully believe that the staff here is responsible for how wonderful of a dog she has turned out to be almost a year later.I started out with their weekly puppy learn and play group, and group puppy basic training classes. We learned so much! Their AKC certified trainer Jessica is a gem! We went through the group adult basic training course, and now attend the weekly adult large breed learn and play group. I can't imagine our lives without them. Although I haven't needed to board my dog, by best friend has and they loved on him the whole time and he was extremely well cared for. This is the place, I promise you won't regret it!

To the woman who lost her mind because my semi was parked on Mill street for exactly 7 minute while I was getting instructions from the home depot to make a delivery; we all have a living to make ma'am. Grow up because kindness will get you so much further in this life. Your business is a pet spa. It's not a starbuck. The 7 minutes I took trying to do my job safely didn't take a single bit of business from you. Moving forward I pray the people you encounter are nicer to you than you were to me!

My Heeler/Shepherd mix, Benny, was a daycare guest on June 1st. He is the latest in a long string of much loved rescued dogs and cats since 2008 or 2009 to be cared for at Home Away from Home while their people were otherwise busy. GREAT staff.

My family and our two dogs were visiting Grant's pass from out of town and I scheduled a week in advance to have them dropped off for just the day and was informed over the phone that the two of them would be sharing an indoor climate controlled suit with a dog run which was exactly what I was looking for since it was going to be over 100°F when we were staying. I called again 2 days before our scheduled appointment to confirm they received vaccine records and that everything was in order.The first day we dropped the dogs off they did not even have us on the schedule for the day even after I called both a week and 2 days in advance just to double check however they did have our information on a file on the shelf. They also were unable to find one of the dogs vaccine records which I had included myself on the email for and could see both records clearly. They were able to find them once I forwarded the same email again to them. It was also at this time we found out that daycare dogs DO NOT get air conditioning even in 100+ degree heat. This all was very frustrating and the price was exactly the same as was quoted over the phone.We also brought treats for the dogs while they were being boarded but once we returned to pick them up over 5 hours later the treats remained completely untouched as though they were never given in the first place. We have boarded our dogs elsewhere before and the treats we send in are always thorough enjoyed by the dogs. Both dogs were also extremely parched once we got back to our camp.Overall the staff is personable and friendly, but I was not impressed by the organization and order. However one of the dogs received a blowout service and looked nice after. We did appreciate the fully fenced potty yard at the entrance. Staff was also happy to accommodate our needs when one of the dogs had an accident in the car on the way to be boarded.If we return to the area we may still choose home away from home for out boarding and daycare needs but with lowered expectations as well as paying closer attention to double and triple checking that our reservation is confirmed.

I used to love comming here. But recently they must have tighten there budget as shampoo is not as good as used to be. Ruined my dogs hair had to pay another local dog groomer to fix it. Terrible

They took excellent care of my dad Dogs while he was away. I came and picked them up a couple times for a daytime outing. When I brought them back, they were dragging me to the door they were so excited to be back there.

Home Away From Home Pet Spa is great for the most part. They do keep the animals under 24 hr surveillance if you are boarding. They seem to love and appreciate pets. That said if your pup, or other pet, is aggressive like my pup was they might not risk a bite happening. However they do have training sessions for owners and pets together. They get a 5 star from me for being completely transparent about the care of my boys. They're rates are also fair.

We will definitely bring our girls here again for boarding. Not only were both Daisy and Lilly both cared for they spent extra time with our Lilly who is a Covid puppy and extremely timid to make her comfortable and she was very happy. I cannot say enough great things about our and our puppies experience. Definitely no reservations about recommending them to friends and family. If I could gove 100 stars I would. Thank you to the entire staff for you l9ve and attention to our girls

Great boarding. Always get a report card on how the dogs did while they were there. Also had them groomed and they did a great job with that too! Dogs always come home looking great and love their little bandanas!

I take Rally obedience classes here with Terry, and she's amazing. My Golden and I got scores of 99 and 100 at our last two trials, and I could never have done it without Terry's instruction.
