Best customer service I've gotten from a grocery store in a very long time!! They were short staffed and I had to ask for help with reaching something on top shelf, then to unlock a couple batteries and then for something on receipt. I didn't catch her name but she couldn't have been nicer. I came back 15 minutes before they closed and she checked us out, and well she still had a nice smile on her face and you could tell she was having a hard day.

This sweetest girl ever named sarah made my pink drink with sweet cold foam on top. It was the best pink drink I’ve ever had and she went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. Will definitely be coming back!

A smaller Safeway in a well established neighborhood. Outstanding variety despite the reduced shelf space. Everything was well stocked and the overall store looks very neat and orderly. I noticed that the dairy department is exceptionally up-to-date with items about to go out of date. A rarity in my opinion....... so kudos to them .

Safeway is the Cadillac of grocery stores. We found ourselves totally angered and upset when we found out Kentucky fried Chicken was charging $47 for a bucket of chicken! At that point the car immediately did a bat turn and we headed over to the Gladstone Safeway to indulge into their efforts with fried chicken. I was lucky that there was no line as this place is usually busy beyond belief. The young man that helped me was extremely helpful and when I ordered a massive amount of fried chicken he didn't flinch. I got the 16 piece extravaganza fried Chicken and it was simply outstanding. It was not overcooked and dry. It was reasonably priced at $17.This is a very nice Safeway not too big not too cramped. The people that work here are extremely helpful and kind. Working in a grocery store in 2024 is a war zone. Everyone here works very hard and did I mention how helpful they are? FYI the best fried chicken is prepared at around 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and it's the freshest and best chicken of the day. That's Safeway secret 267.

Great manager mistake was made and in 5 minutes he gave me the difference in cash back. Also went there a few days ago I needed 2 single white flowers for my kids experiment all they had were bouquets. Lady went in where they had there flowers and pulled out and ran up 2 white flowers a Gerber daisy and a rose for just 2.99 thanks to them I was able to keep my promise to my daughter ❤️

The store was clean the staff was friendly but since I hadn't been to this location I had a little trouble finding some things. Overall I'm happy with getting what we needed.

the girls who work here are pretty cool, but I pity anyone that has to deal with the maLe employees(except for one younger.guy who has darker hair and a bit of a hitch in his step, he's very cool)the male employees aside from that one guy are very bitter and rude. definitely guys depressed that they work at a safeway.

Great little grocery store with good selection and prices, especially if you have a Safeway card. They also have a nice deli counter that serves hot meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I'm fond of the fried chicken. Way better than KFC in my opinion and way less prices. See the menu board.

One of the worst grocery stores I have ever been to, which is hard to say because all the employees I have encountered are incredibly nice. They are constantly out of food and have food that is right up against their end date. Just some instances that have occurred in the last couple months:- I have attached a photo of Moldy cheese that was found on 11/29/17 in their cheese aisle.- All their fresh broccoli was infested with frozen cabbage mites, I had to deter customers from buying while I notified the store.- A whole section of eggs with a use by date of the very next day.They do have a solid beer section, which is a plus.Hoping another grocery store comes into Gladstone soon to help push this store to be better.

I wish they would check their stock more often. I try my best to check dates as I'm shopping, but there are trips where I still end up bringing home expired items because I'm in a hurry. And of course, when I realize what's happened it's a few days later and I've already thrown away the receipt. It's incredibly frustrating that I cannot trust this store to check out dates.

Always a good place to shop for groceries. I've recently purchased some floral plants and white roses w/Purple edges.gorgeous. cute planters. And a real nice yellow daisy mum. Nice full and great to look at in a cheerful basket. Was ready for table or put in the ground. They also explained why I had a sad plant I brought previously...I watered it too much...they were very knowledgeableAnd nice about it too.

I was so happy to meet Mackenzie in the service department yesterday when I needed help learning about digital coupons. I am a technically challenged 73-year-old lady. Mackenzie was very patient and helpful walking me through the steps to be able to use my cell phone for digital coupons. I needed to get the $1.97 pizzas for Super Bowl! Glad you hired her. I plan on telling all my senior friends were to go to get help.

*not going to name employee or give time/date, as no one needs to get reprimanded for making a bad sandwich*I got possibly the worst sandwich I've paid for (maybe I'm being dramatic?).The tenets of a good sandwich are fresh ingredients, good quality bread, and even ingredient distribution/bread to insides ratio.The sandwich I got had stale bread, and horrible ingredient distribution/ratio. Quality of the inside ingredients was ok, but definitely not great.I don't know if the sandwich person was having an off day or just didn't want to be there. They also touched non-food items in the middle of making my sandwich without switching gloves which is like a food 101 "don't do". So I'd recommend taking another look at the training for your deli team.I worked a long day & I'm not about wasting food so I still ate it for dinner, but it was not great. (Don't @me about eating it even though they touched non-food items, I just put it out of my mind so I could eat)Aside from that the store overall had a good selection, and prices are as to be expected at Safeway, most employees seems nice.

They always have the best bananas in town. Winco and Fred Meyer always have really green bananas and it would take 3 or 4 days to get them ripe. Safeway generally has a selection of bananas that are anywhere between two days before ripe to ready to eat.

The new store director is Rude and disrespectful and Yells at her employees. I have been taken advantage of because of my disability for way to long they don't give me enough hours after asking they are always giving the new people more hours then me and alot of the other employees that work there. The new store director started Knit picking at me today For stupid stuff and then started yelling at me in front of my employees and customers and embarrassed me, It makes me not want to go back. They keep hiring People that shouldn't be working in customer service that don't treat there employees and customers with respect it's messed up.

I love their sandwich bar at their deli! But EVERYTIME I visit they are the rudest people I have ever come in contact with! When you walk up to the counter they all hide and hope you go away until they come out and express their annoyance of my business if they don't lie and say it's the only part of the deli closed!!! I now go somewhere else for lunch!!!

My pharmacy experiences here for the past year have always been friendly, quick, and consistent. They even save GoodRX coupons on my account, and will sometimes find me better deals on prescription prices! Refills are usually pretty quick and service is always kind - what more could you ask for?

The deli in Gladstone Safeway needs to be honest with the Customer's needs like mayonnaise because he lied said he didn't have any. I said the lady usually gives me mayonnaise, he gave me some finally. I said why lie to me because it's hard for you to walk 2 feet?

Cashier at the self checkout was friendly helpful and on top of helping customers get through quickly. Deli staff was also friendly and fast! Bonus... It's a nice short walk for a break from a long wait at DMV. 😁

So over priced. Bakery items are not fresh nor are they baked in store any longer. You never know what will be available in the bakery. No consistency. The whole store is cramped and crowded by stuff. No space. Limited selection on most items and so overpriced. I only shop here because it's on my way home. Oh and using their coupon deals, what a joke. They make it so complicated. Nothing I like about Safeway any longer. It used to be my first choice, now I only go if it's my only choice. I honestly cannot think of anything I like about Safeway. What happened? Safeway used to be the best place to shop, now they offer customer's nothing. Limited selection, poor prices, low quality produce and baked goods. Not worth my time when I end up having to go to another store to complete my shopping list.

Smallish but convenient. Very small section for bathroom/hygiene/health products. Employee to customer ratio may be greater than 1:1(?!), which almost made it feel crowded in some aisles, but meant the shelves were well stocked and there was always someone nearby to provide assistance or answer any questions. A little on the pricey side, even for Safeway, but this isn't a large grocery excursion kind of place anyways, and the product quality was noticeably better than other locations in the greater Portland area. Cashier was very friendly, conversive, and had decidedly solid work ethic (they deserve 5⭐'s).
