This is a combination grocery, convenience, fabric/sewing, clothing, outdoor wear, and general merchandise store all rolled into one. In other words, it is an old-fashioned Mercantile from a bygone era that still exists here in Fossil. We were staying at a nearby camp and needed some bath towels, and by golly they had them, and for only $6 each! We also picked up some snacks when we were there. The staff was very friendly and helped direct us to a nearby restaurant for lunch.

Its what you’d expect for a more remote store. Higher prices. Some items super high like $2 oranges. Brought items to the counter and clerk on phone until other shoppers bring items to other part of the counter and serves them without ever saying anything to us. Hmmmm. Cool store other than prices and service.

If you need a hat that clearly says Fossil because you drove through the town of Fossil and you’re crazy like me then this is the place to go.Hat Review:High quality Richardson cap, SnapBack fitting, many color combos available, durable, comfortable even on large head. This store may actually have everything! Which, given its location in a small (but awesome) isolated town in Eastern Oregon is saying something. I went in for snacks (which I got) but hung around simply browsing the variety of offerings and enjoying the company of the friendly staff. It must be a terrific resource for the people of the area. It certainly was for us. We'll definitely be back.

What an incredible place. This store has just about one of everything. Household goods, groceries, even fabric! The gal who checked us out, said her great grandparents shopped there in the 1890’s! What history! For a store being far from everything, the prices were spot on!

Great little store with everything under the sun, from groceries to cotton fabric to pet supplies. Hot coffee is still $0.50!

A quaint fixture from the past, this is a must visit whenever you pass through Fossil. Established in the early 1900s in a native stone building, aside from having most anything you could need or have forgotten there's many points of interest, from the original cash register, to trophy local taxidermy that aren't for sale, to local quilts that are. The original wood dairy cases and hardwood floors are something you just don't find anymore. Many gifts can be found here as well, from rocks and leatherwork to metal craft and jewelry, as well as hats and clothing featuring both the mercantile and local tourism. On top of that they play the best music to shop to. You won't be disappointed.

stopped in fossil for... well the fossils lol. and i stopped in here and this has got to be a one of a kind store, very thing you could need or want including fabric by the yard and quilts. This place has one of a kind atmosphere as does the whole town and i highly recommend a stop here

It is what every small town store should be. It has some items for visitors but mostly stocks various random objects and grocery items, I image locals request for them to carry. Very cute store in a gorgeous town. Service was very friendly. Enjoyed my time in this town

This is a great little store staffed with wonderful people. We get to visit Fossil Mercantile a couple times once a year for provisions while deer hunting. It's always a pleasure.

Great selection for a small town grocery store! They have a little bit of everything. Prices are reasonable when you factor in how far we are from suppliers, etc. Costomer service is always superb.

Just about everything you need to get through the weekend camping if you forgot anything at home. The aesthetics are pleasing for the environment and fossil is one of the best towns to visit while you're in the best county in Oregon

Good, fast service and friendly, helpful staff. Prices are higher than what you'd find at other grocery stores like Safeway or Fred Meyer, but that's expected in a small store in a town that's far from a lot of distribution warehouses.

This place is fabulous, and the people are nice, and to top it all, they have NOT raised prices for the eclipse. The bakery next door is also wonderful. Fossil is a good town.

It is a delightful store. The owner works very hard to keep things in stock for both the locals and tourists. And the staff is magnificent. Especially Coco.

Nice country store. Winter store hours close at 6pm. So if your traveling ya gotta know this and get in and get your stuff.

Super friendly staff and what they have available is great for their location. My wife enjoys the salsa they sell, in the front of the store.
