Great, but unassuming-looking store right on the 101.Don't pass by the Sportsman when you see it.They've got a bit of everthing outdoors related from motorcycles, to snow gear to fishing equipment and the owner is very down-to-earth and knowledgeable.They've been there since 1947, so you know they're doing something right!

This place is the real deal. A true multi generation family business. The staff is knowledgeable, honest, and good-natured. They will leave you alone or offer all kinds of help.You will find lots of good quality here, not cheap junk. If you drive through Florence looking for any type of outdoor adventure gear, you will find it here. Or they will point you in the right direction.

The owner was disinterested in helping my son and I get out fishing. He was focused on selling outboards that he didn't have in stock. Upon entering the store, the owner did not greet us. He instead gestured towards the phone to insinuate that I should have known he was on the phone. The fishing lures and hooks were in very short supply. The store didn't have any treble hooks, other than those already attached to leaders. The container of worms purchased was half empty. I strongly encourage anyone looking to purchase some fishing tackle to check out a different store. Happy fishing!

They keep Honda atv and motorcycle parts in stock. The owner stayed late for me because I was driving over from the valley after work. They also have hunting and fishing supplies and lots of other gear. The prices are just as good or better than online. A cool place to check out if you're driving through or walking from old town.

the guy who works there is an a** hole (red hair and beard); he did everything but fart in front of me. tried to sell me stuff i didn't need and was worthless when it came to fishing info. drive further down and there's a bi mart; better staff and better prices. its not much of a part shop for bikes either.

The owner of this store is a really good guy. I had a flat on my Honda touring motorcycle and had it towed to his shop. It was more than a flat, the rear wheel was dented and they didn't have the equipment to fix it. I asked if it would be OK if I took the rear wheel off and had it repaired in Portland, about 170 miles away. He said I could leave it as long as necessary. I pulled it into his garage, took the wheel off and had it repaired. The next day I came back and put it on and was on my way. It was really great to be inside his garage because the weather wasn't the best. He wouldn't take any money, and even lent a tool so I could finish the job. Thanks again Bill for the great service.

Horrible horrible and some more horrible!The man that worked there wouldn't stop talking to his friend the entire time which was a completely inappropriate topic with mach foul language. When we left with our paper our name and address were wrong even after he asked for it at least 3 times. It took 15 minutes and this normally takes 2 minutes or less!So inappropriate in so many ways along with HORRIBLE customer service.Never again

My experience here was limited to purchasing bait and renting crab traps, but the staff was pleasant enthusiastic and fun. The store was clean and well organized and the parking lot was roomy.

My father is Mexican and I am also Mexican. I felt really uncomfortable and sick to my stomach walking in your store. The associate treated the white customers with respect, but treated my brown father way differently. It was even worse when I saw a confederate flag hanging in the store. It is sad that there is still racism out there like this.
