The Training Spot structures their classes in a way I hadn't seen before. It has been super helpful for my dog to learn to to calm down. We've only gone through the first series of classes and she already is getting better at calming down around people she would normally be all over. And Lauren is a wonderful trainer, fun and relatable which is a hard thing to come by sometimes in dog trainers.

Second time we have a pet going through their program but the first that is going through the actual puppy classes. I feel like I go away with something new to process and/or think about. They're great with our puppy and giving us helpful advice on challenging behaviors (in my case the puppy using me and the cats as chew toys). I would recommend them for their patience alone :) but the classes are also very fun and a great, safe place to train.

My dear friend just completed your pup 1 class. Today I witnessed nothing but pure joy and excitement as he demonstrated how to properly mark and reinforce his sweet puppy as they played some training games. Absolutely love the staff at the training spot! Jen has been helping us to get our very nervous dog towards a more comfortable state of coping with the world. We’ve learned so much about how we can better handle and support our dog through a variety of situations. The training spot also has a great reputation around town, both our vet and people at pet stores have recognized the name and had nothing but nice things to say! Definitely recommend checking this place out for your dog training needs!

The atmosphere is unfailingly warm and welcoming. The trainers I've worked with are so knowledgeable and patient. I love how they can take my pup and directly and easily show me how to work with him. I always take heart from the encouragement. And best yet, the training is FUN!

We have been thrilled with our experience at Training Spot. Keanna is absolutely AMAZING! She is so kind, so patient and so knowledge. She is one of those special kinds of humans that just makes you smile. We enrolled our baby Leo in classes right away and it was the best decision we could have made. Leo LOVES coming to class and he learns so quickly! Keanna keeps things, short, simple and fun for the puppies. She also introduced Leo to his first bestfriend! She puts a lot of thought into the arrangement of the puppy stations by placing you next to puppies that she believes would be a good fit - she was spot on! Our "neighbor" in class is a sweet puppy named Eddie. Eddie and Leo have been bestfriends from the moment they met and it is so much fun to watch them play! Leo will be graduating PUP1 next week and we will be taking advantage of every course they have to offer! We truly feel confident that with the help and guidance of Training Spot, we are providing Leo with all of the skills that he needs to be the very best person he can be!

The Training Spot is the Best! I mean it. In the world today, so many places let you down. I had trouble and Training Spot came thru for me and that was even before we started our training! They didn't even know me yet. Wow, then training started. I think all the trainers are great, but we had the best! Her name is Annette. She loved Dory and Dory's ears. :) She helped me so much. I would get flustered. I had trouble learning as quickly as my dog did and Annette helped and had patience with both of us.Training Spot will help you make a good dog even better and help you become a better dog owner too.

When we got our puppy we were using an online training course. It was helpful, but being able to take our puppy to such a nice facility with excellent trainers made a huge difference. We have done both a group class and private lessons. The group class helped to develop a good foundation for training and the private lessons are wonderful for working on individual issues with our puppy. The group classes are also beneficial for teaching the dog how to deal with distractions while learning. Our puppy has shown steady progress and is growing up to be a really great dog! Thank you Training Spot!

Our Old English Sheepdog puppy Martha is currently taking her fourth class at this wonderful place, and we've also done private training with Tera James. The experience is been entirely positive. The tips are helpful and practical, and the trainers truly seem to love dogs. They are kind, patient and thoughtful—and Martha loves coming here. We'll keep training because we find ourselves looking forward to every session, and we learn something new every time.

As a first time dog owner I was overwhelmed with having a puppy. Training spot offered group classes to get us comfortable with the basics, and we signed on for private in home sessions to help with getting our dog used to strangers coming to the door, being around other animals, trouble shoot escaping from the yard, and curb excessive barking. Tera and her team has done it all using a positive feedback manner and broken it down in manageable ways that we could replicate on our own. They are absolutely fantastic, incredibly intuitive, and I cannot recommend them enough.

The Training Spot a& their Staff are a [click,click] TREAT!What an awesome crew! We’ve been to four classes with Pancake, every one of them has shown marked improvement in our day to day. Positive reinforcement, personalized tips with professional trainers, socializing with small groups in a well structured environment…need I go on? I haven’t gotten a one on one session yet, but so far even the group classes have felt personal enough to have some individualized goals to work on at home. They have a great selection of toys, treats, and other accessories in the building as well.

I always credit The Training Spot when people comment on what an awesome dog that I have. We have been going to classes and private sessions since I got him as an 8 week puppy. As a 1st time puppy-mom I needed a lot of training. A new puppy can be stressful and it would be a highlight of our week to go there and feel supported. My puppy-dog is now 9 months and we continue to go to classes - he loves it! I've recommended the Training Spot to others with puppies or challenging dogs and everyone has had a positive experience with their positive approach training.

I took four different classes here. Puppy classes were great! I love that they believe in positive reinforcement training since my first puppy class elsewhere was from a teacher who thought it was ok to use pain as a deterrent (shameful!). When my dog started experiencing pretty intense reactivity their guidance in their specialized class helped me a lot. My partner wanted to get rid of our dog and I’m grateful to say I ditched the partner and kept working with my beloved Neptune. He still has triggers but rarely has reactive episodes these days and he’s way more affectionate, comfortable, and happy since training really enforced healthy boundaries and a strong bond. People constantly remark that he’s one of the most respectful and attentive dogs they’ve ever met, and even people I know who don’t really like dogs love him! If we were in Oregon we’d still be training here. Thank you to all training spot staff but I especially appreciated Katie and Jennifer.

Kobe, our cavapoo, joined our family in 2020 as a pup. He is such a loving and sweet dog to our close family; but friends, strangers, other dogs, new sounds and settings sent him into fearful barking. During the pandemic, we were not able to socialize him much with other people and dogs and were encouraged by our vet to seek out the Training Spot for their expertise. We felt so bad for this little guy and were willing to do anything to give him the skills and guidance he needed, so that others could enjoy him like we do.Kobe was first assessed in a meeting with Jenn, where we could discuss our concerns and she could better assess his needs. She assured us that he would be fine in a group pup class, so we signed up for Pup 1 and 2, with Tera, the trainer.Tera does an amazing job of making each dog parent and their dog feel comfortable, respecting each of their individual needs. Her classes are well structured and work with positive encouragement giving you new skills each week to learn and teach your pup throughout the following week. Kobe was making great progress, but Tera encouraged us to build on this by adding a few private lessons to focus on some of the skills he struggled with. He graduated from both Pup classes and to this day is still taking private classes with Tera. I don’t know who is more excited to see Tera, Kobe or us. Each session is so positive and encouraging and we all learn so much.There aren’t enough words to describe the love language Tera has for dogs. She knows their language and they know hers. She has such a respect for them and is so attuned to their body language; tail wagging, jaw, eye, and ear movement and the list goes on. She works on the specific skills you want to achieve. Sometimes we meet at the Training Spot, other times at a park, or at our house; all to improve his skills interacting with other people and dogs.He is now 2 years old and has become such a well-behaved dog who is learning to be calm around other people and dogs. We couldn't have done it without Tera and all her positive reinforcement. Now we take every chance we can to encourage others to check out Tera at the Training Spot. Every dog deserves it!

I cannot say enough good things about the Training Spot! It kills me to think about how much time and money I could’ve saved if I would’ve went here first! The entire staff is friendly and helpful and truly cares about each pooch that walks in that door! I recommend Training Spot to absolutely EVERYONE!I love how intelligently the private training is structured (I trained with Tera, she is AMAZING!). We started with discussions and tips while my dog’s behavior was monitored, and we progressed to practicing training techniques, and then to actually applying them in appropriate situations. It wasn’t just directions, it was WHY we were doing this and how it would help. Everything is just miles above and beyond all the other trainings we tried!I have seen so many positive changes in my dog. We’re both happier and less stressed, our lives have been changed for the better!Thank you Training Spot!

Heard some excellent personal recommendations and checked out the website and location. Ended up getting four sessions with a trainer for a very large puppy. The private rooms and training spaces are well equipped and the staff is friendly. Multiple people voluntarily helped as we were practicing greeting strangers. I was also emailed a summary and tips after every session.. This place was what I was looking for.

Having been a client for several months, I feel I can now write a more informed review. We have had a great experience with both the classes as well as private lessons. When we adopted our rescue, she had some behaviors that were an issue. Jen worked with us to address our immediate concerns, helping to train both our dog and us (we needed it just as much!). We also love the classes and the fact that the instructors are flexible; ensuring that the dogs and their owners are always comfortable and confident.

We love Training Spot! I was nervous about getting my dog back into training class since she had not been socialized in some time and was nervous around other dogs. Tera made this class a very enjoyable experience by the way she set up the class and the kindness and calmness that she showed....and our Lani did great! My experience of puppy classes here has been top notch. I have a pup who is shy and nervous - unlike all the other ebullient pups who were in the class. The trainers took the time every class to give me what I needed to train my pup despite the fact that it was different instruction than the rest of the pups. They were very attentive to our needs, provided detailed class notes via email after every class, and answered questions via email in a prompt and helpful way. I highly recommend their puppy classes.

Fantastic experience! I have a young rescue dog and he didn't have many trained habits when I got him. We did the Good Dog 1 class and it was magical, suddenly I had a dog that listened and responded to different activities. We learned to communicate pretty well in that class. I have been taking my golden retriever to the Training Spot. The place is friendly, clean and fun. My golden received his trick dog title under Lauren Merge. Jennifer and Tera have worked with us (and our dog). They have helped us understand how to give her positive reinforcement to achieve behaviors like settling down, coming when called, walking on a leash, leaving something interesting alone, and so on. Our dog loves the time spent at the Training Spot and looks forward to her interactions there. She is always so tired on our way home, from all the fun and excitement of learning! The new location is fabulous ... very convenient, and the space is perfect for the classes.

Carmaleta does amazing work. I came in for help with behavioral issues for my boxer that I adopted about four months ago. She spent over an hour with us getting to know us, watching interactions, and giving insightful and helpful tips to correct behavior. I have only had one session so far and have already seen great benefit. I am looking forward to working with her in the future and feel very positive about outlook on the potential for my dog to socialize better with other dogs in the future.
