Sara’s Treasures is certainly one of those neat little hidden gems of Eugene.A wide variety of thrift items, from pet supplies, books, clothing, kids toys, jewelry and antiques. The store is supported by community member donations and helpful volunteers. There’s also a cat adoption program! 🐱I find new things all the time because the store is always updating it’s inventory.. it’s getting hard to walk out empty-handed! hahaha.. well, it’s worth checking out :)

We just loved our visit to Sara’s Treasures!!! The staff there are super nice and helpful. And the best part is all the kitties there that need homes, they are all so sweet and adorable. We got to visit with all the kitties and wish we could take more home but for now, our 2 are enough. It’s truly a great store!

Unfortunately not asking for masks anymore. I believe their management has been treating their minimum wage workers extremely poorly for years. It is a great place to adopt a cat and purchase cat supplies, but a terrible work environment. What a shame.

I love everything about SARAs! They're an important resource for animal rescue and I will always support this. Also, I find really neat stuff when I shop there! 😺

This is a great neighborhood thrift store with lovely, well-treated kitties to adopt as well as good merchandise to support animals and a plant sale from time to time. I love shopping with and for cats. Also, some of the reviews look like people don't realize that *volunteers* work at this nonprofit. I have no idea where the notion that the "staff" are "mistreated" or some of the comments not honoring store hours and boundaries are coming from. The workers I have encountered in over 15 years of shopping there are without exception friendly and kind and have chosen to be there. Making appointments to see cats during and after COVID seems normal to me. I am glad they have a vetting process for adoption, although I am sure it isn't perfect and some people may feel upset if they can't adopt or donate or if they have a misunderstanding or someone asks them to please follow some rules. This is a fun resource for reasonably to low priced clothing and household items and a kind shelter that helps many cats in the community find good homes while protecting them from the ravages of too much public exposure.

Always a great experience here. The people who work here are so friendly, kind and know a lot about caring for your furry friend. I come here to get my kitty food and of course a quick look around the store for nick nacks and to pet the two cute tuxedos that walk around. One of my favorite places 💕

These are the coolest people ever. Great charity shop that benefits animals in need of good homes. Staffed by some of the coolest people that you will ever encounter. Lots of great deals to discover and score. Great place to donate as well. I adopted two cats from them years ago when I didn't even live in the state. It is so cool to see that they are still thriving and have grown so much. Sweet kitties that you can pet and socialize with right in the shop.

I’m sad to write this 1 star review but my experience today has bothered me all day. I decorated for Christmas and had some items I decided not to use this year. Many of them were brand new and unopened. I have always enjoyed shopping at Sara’s treasures so I made a pile to donate to another thrift store and set aside my nicest items in a small box for Sara’s treasures. I brought it in, thinking how happy I was it would help them and go towards helping kitties. No sooner had I started shopping that the employee said “we can’t take these donations they are Christmas” What???? NOW is the time of year to sell Christmas! I walked over and said “I’m shocked, most of these items are brand new!” They said “oh I didn’t know if these had been opened” I was incredibly offended by the whole attitude so I said I would gladly take them to Goodwill. Not sure how Sara’s treasures plans to stay in business if they reject peoples donations. I won’t attempt another donation there ever again.

Great prices and excellent service- plus cats!!The selection of items is so wide and interesting that I would have to rate S.A.R.A's as one of the coolest thrift stores I have visited. There are three whole rooms of merchandise, ranging from electronics, clothing, and collectibles to pet food and supplies. The staff is friendly, polite, and helpful, and the cats add a nice touch of homeliness and novelty to the store. Do be careful not to let the animals out!

What an awesome place and what an awesome concept for a store. Even though I am allergic to cats, I make it a point to come here every time I am in the neighborhood. I love seeing all the happy cats, and knowing that my purchases are directly making a difference in the cats' lives makes my sneezing all worth it. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.

I am an extremely busy person, so I rarely ever write reviews unless I feel it’s absolutely necessary. I recently bought new cat shelves for cats to climb on that my cat did not use as she is finicky with typical cat supplies/toys due to being a mainly outdoor cat. Instead of returning, I wanted to donate them for a new kitty to enjoy. I handpicked this location to drop off because I liked that they were also a cat shelter and proceeds from the store went to that, despite the location being 15+ minutes away from my house, and there are much closer donation centers to me. I went to drop the shelves off on July 1, and since I am new to Eugene as of 2 weeks ago, I got a little lost getting to this location and arrived 2 minutes after close. I saw the door open still and was like “thank goodness, I can still drop this off.” The worker was bringing stuff inside from outside, and as I approached her with my massive box and a smile, she very gloomily looked at me and told me they just closed and could not accept my donation. Whaaaat??? Are your hands tied that you cannot accept a box from me? I didn’t even need a donation slip. She told me they were open at 10:00 tomorrow. However, it was my birthday the following day, so I was having friends over and did not want to drive another 15/20 minutes to deal with her again or anyone like her. I feel sorry that places are short staffed and end up with workers that provide subpar customer service. I hope the animals there receive much better care. Needless to say, I ended up at goodwill to drop off my brand new supplies and will not ever go back to this location again. I hope you are able to hire more friendly workers in the future. 2 stars only for the effort to create this kind of place, -3 for my experience; I hope it’s better for others.

I love to shop at this store and I donate only to this store. They accomplish very important work, saving cats, a cause so near and dear to my heart. They have great merchandise, I never leave empty handed. Love to pet the resident kitties too! Thank you saras treasures for all you do.

They have small and pricy selection. You will likely not find anything there. Forks maybe cheaper but other bigger items are more expensive than average thrift store. Don't go there to shop with young children because they have numerous cats in store. You will be treated less than a cat in this store even though you may have adorable children who are eager to see the cats. You will not be greeted at the door where a few staff were hanging out. You will be ignored the whole time until your child wants to look at the cats from the other side of the adjacent glass doors; and then you will be told that your child can't even look at the cats. My child didn't pound on the glass, but alas, she was not a cat and so she, though being two and was fascinated by cats, was told not to do so. I was a watchful parent, so, I was very offended by this staff who told me impolitely that I need to watch her more. I could not have enough words to describe how unfriendly and rude the staff were. No one answered the phone either when I tried to call and talk to the manager later. Although I love cats and I was trying to give them my business knowing they were good for the shelter, I would not go there to shop again. There are other thrift stores who are also non-profit with other causes where I and my children won't feel offended or would not be treated like crap.

Amazing organization. They WILL insist on visiting your residence if you want to adopt, AND must see ownership paperwork if you own your home, or must speak to your landlord/agency if you rent. They are also picky about donations they accept, so top quality in store items is guaranteed.

Amazing cats! Stuff is hit or miss. They often have amazing sales, great option for people with not a lot to spend. Really glad this shelter exists

I am now donating my smaller stuff and clothing there. It's a cool place that has 3 rooms with DONATED, handmade and mass made products (mainly animal products on the mass made) and I have to say it has some hidden gems. Yes there are cats that you may see walking around but it isn't a free for all. They have some cats in large walk in cages that you can go Into to pet them. I'm not a cat fan but my kids are. Overall a nice.place and it's connected to 7-11 So you don't miss it.

I have been shopping at this unique shop for a while. Although, on occasion, the staff seems a little lax with customers, they have also always gone out of their way to help me find what I need (cat food and toys) even if they didn't carry it. I am happy to pay a little extra to help the cats; no different in pricing than SVDP who overprices items all the time and has a far less helpful staff. I wholeheartedly support having the hour counseling session to adopt a cat. If the complainants about this talked to the staff they would understand that Sara's often gets cats that have already been mishandled.Shop here and support their great mission.

S.A.R.A.'s is a delightful thrift store where you can snag great finds as well as cat care products while petting cats and kittens! There are three rooms of treasures and plenty of super sweet and handsome cats to adopt or visit with. There's always helpful, friendly staff there to help you or answer questions, and they have lot sales and plant sales as well. I always feel very therapeutic and happy when I leave. Stop by and see for yourself!

I don't understand all the 5 star ratings. My experience with SARA's Treasures was a nightmare. I came into the store after the death of my dear 17 year old cat Boris. Not only did I not get a chance to adopt a kitten, I was emotionally abused by the manager , a woman named Nicole, who denied my application, making some vague claim about what I was doing in her store. All I did was to visit the cats, who are more like prisoners than potential adoptees. It's my perspective that most of the positive reviews are addressing the second hand store and not the adoption process. Anyone wanting to adopt a feline best friend should go to the Greenhill shelter. They set me up with a bonded brother and sister who , five months later,a are wonderful additions to my household.

Such a great idea. I love that shopping there also helps take care of cats. They have high standards for the merchandise they sell so you can get nice stuff and help kitties.

Wonderful second hand store with a unique spread of items. Also a great place to get some kitty therapy. There are cats roaming throughout the store and they are all so sweet. Prices are great!

One of my favorite thrift locations. There's almost always something I really want here for super low prices. And! There's kitties. Well worth it to stop in and support them, and also get something cool and spend some time with cats. :)

This place is amazing. I got my kitty time in, and super cheap .50 cent clothing in the cheap bin outside that was really nice and my size, and more cheap stuff inside. I can understand why people who come in here with small children leave feeling slighted, as I am familiar with cat rescue. Children generally treat cats harshly, unconsciously and sometimes even harm them, emotionally and/or physically, and fostered cats seldom get adopted out to houses with small children for this reason. Rehabilitated, feral, and some other cats need extra help and care when saving them. Hence the paperwork. They actually care enough to do THEIR end of the lengthy paperwork and interviews for adoptees. They are the experienced, at SARA's, and surely have witnessed many harsh interactions between youngins and kitties. Great place, super fun cats when I was there (2 twin cats chased my lemon grass the whole time!) and tons of cheap stuff from what I was lookin' at!

i’m currently 12 years old and i have been going to SARAS for sooooo long. it’s such a great place and i donate so much stuff to it because i love the place and how cheap everything is like for example they have a side door now to another store area. i’ve been going there since they didn’t even own that space. last summer i made jewelry and sold it and raised about 80$ for them. i lovvvveeeeee the place and totally recommend it!!

This is a treasure in and of itself. Great to take a break, love some cats and let them appreciate you, maybe find a new friend. But then, the treasures within the store. Awesome. My fav place to go and be happy.

Love the cats. But if you have a service animal, please follow the staff request to give them a heads up so they can safely put the cats that roam freely in a secure area. It’s kind of common sense and will make the experience better for everyone.
