My go to place for mice for our snake. They even scented them with their frog for our finicky hognose! 🧡 He finally ate after weeks of refusing. Great selection of cat and dog food. Love all the dog treats. And the kitties! So hard not to come home with more cats every time we go in there!

Everyone is so nice and even though they’re a busy store, they never rush you through questions. Always a great experience in here. We got our Beardie from here and now I go back weekly for all of its live food.

I love this store. They have good prices for pet food and the staff is always super friendly, cool and knowledgeable. They’ve taught me quite a bit about caring for my reptiles. Their live animals are in good shape with clean enclosures and proper husbandry. I love having this locally owned store in town as an option for animal supplies!

I was driving to this store ever 2 weeks all the way from Roseburg. They do not take good care of their tarantulas at all there is almost always mold in their enclosures. I bought 3 or 4 last time I drove up there and one of the tarantulas were not in sight. I asked the guy helping me about it and he said it had to be in there. So I bought it. It was a B minax. I decided to check on it after it still not eating on feeding day and it was dead the guy at the store said there was nothing they could do about.

Seems like a nice enough store but every time I have been there it feels like a 10 minute conversation at the counter with every customer. They seem friendly, just not a quick grab and go place. Seen people in like walk out.

Love this place, go here all the time. They don’t carry every product needed for some aquarium setups (co2 equipment for example) but their fish are healthy, they are friendly, and they have quite the selection.

OH MY GOSH I WILL BE COMING BACK ANY TIME I NEED NEW FISH!!! ALL the tanks were in pristine condition running on their own individual systems. The only tank with any issues had a clear sign marked not for sale. And OH MY GOD THE OWNERS OSCARS ARE GORGEOUS AND I ALMOST CRIED WHEN I SAW THEM. 10/10

Cat smells drove my wife out. Pretty strong. Fish selection is limited relative to the dedicated fish places. Tanks are clean and healthy, as are the fish. Good plant selection! For clarification: Three stars is a good rating, frankly, I reserve the 4 and 5 for extraordinary experiences. A one or two means stay away.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff and the free roaming pets were a wonderful treat. The story of the cat with Feline AIDS brought me to tears at how cruel humans are. Those people should be ashamed of themselves and banned from owning any pet at all. Lots of fish and reptiles and other creepy crawlers here. Enjoy!!

It was ok, I looked online for a terrarium sand scoop and it said it was in stocks but when I got there they had none of what it said online. But at least they had the sand.

In my opinion this pet store is amazing, great place to get new fish. And the staff is friendly and not only that they talk positively about the owner and that's a good thing. The lady who helped me had long hair and was very nice. She also told me they rescue cats which is really cool. Keep up the great work.

The store was clean. With it being kitten season they were out of what we needed but the staff was super great and friendly. They were informative and apologetic they were out. All the animals looked to be in good health and other products were well stocked.

This location has taken such a positive turn since being purchased by the new owners. I remember that the old owners had poor husbandry of animals, but when I visited recently I was greeted by a rescue cat who has been living life as a king in their care. Very grateful to see the positive change. I normally visit Hometown Pets on River Road, they are the same owners, but I will now be visiting w11th more often since it is closer to my house.

We have an old feeder mouse that we have been caring for and decided to keep because of its resilience.We are reptile and spider people mainly.The blonde girl refused to sell us a feeder because we requested a male (ours is a male) because she "can't sell it as a pet". I've been denied mice before because they knew I was going to feed them, but this was new!We always shop at hometown. However the way this was handled was poor service. We were going to give the feeder a companion and if it died feed it anyway to our snake.Guess not.

I recently purchased a tarantula sling and was impressed by the housing of their animals. I will be back. They carry old and new world tarantulas among other reasonably priced invertebrates and reptiles. Worth the drive from roseburg. Nicely done folks!

Every Betta has its own small tank with air bubbles, it's different from places like Petco where you see the dying Betta in tiny plastic bowls :(This is the best, most ethical petstore I've ever been!! My boyfriend went in to grab me a mouse for my snake while I was at work. I came home around 4 hours later to see a Chinese take out box with very small holes poked in. I open it up to see a VERY tiny mouse that was absolutely drenched in its own feces. My boyfriend mentioned before that he didn’t realize they gave him a live mouse (I usually feed frozen, but once in a while it’s okay so I didn’t mind), and then he later told me he didn’t even get to SEE the mouse they gave him. I honestly didn’t even want to give the poor thing to my snake, but she had been off food for while due to us moving and I had no choice. I gave it a bath and fed her, and while it was in her enclosure it didn’t explore, and didn’t even squeak when she struck. I’m honestly worried about the treatment of their mice. Every other feeder I’ve gone to back home had their rodents on display and gave them a proper container they they COULD sit in for a good few hours. This container didn’t absorb moisture at all. It was also $3 for such a TINY mouse. I do take the responsibility of letting it sit for so long, and that they may not have known that it wouldn’t have been eaten right away, but again this was not an issue before. Please just be aware before you buy any feeder mice.

Had some weirdo working here sneaking around the corner awkwardly spying on me after having already asked me if I found what I was looking for. I pointed to wet dog food and said yep, I found the dog food but just checking out the cat. Just went in to buy some wet food for my dog, going to test some varieties and see which he likes better. Kind felt like walking out, but this is Eugene, I’m sure theft is an issue here.Just try not to be peaking around the corner like a child and get caught spying on your customers… it’s kind of awkward.

They have a nice variety of stuff reptiles but when it came to checking out I picked out some acorns 5 for $1 and some dollar stickers and a stick so my total should’ve been around $6 but they completely overcharge me and my total came to $10 and my boyfriend are paid after I noticed it. I pointed it out and The cashier made some really snarky comments saying “well this would be a lot more easier if you had an account” and he kept saying that as he was trying to refund us our money and when we got back to the car we realized that he only refunded us $1 out of the $4 he was supposed to get back but then we realize there was a big line and it wasn’t really worth the hassle to deal with him again (I also want to know I was very apologetic and very nice throughout the process that he caused)
