This is the largest "hardware" store in the county, but it's still small for modern standards. They have a lot of specialty items that locals need: livestock and pet stuff, Stihl products, hunting and fishing, and lots more. It's clean, well organized, and well stocked for the space they have. I'm my experience, the staff service can range from arrogantly neglectful to extremely helpful, but it averages out at politely helpful. I go here for specialty items, but I prefer to go elsewhere for more common stuff.

Ive never engaged with business who's employees were so absolutely rude and dismissive. I called, they answered the phone and hung it up without a word. I called back and an extremely sour girl answered the phone and I said I needed to speak to retail and inquired as to why I was hung up on with neither myself nor the person who answered the phone speaking a word to which she replied in the snottiest tone i'd heard in years, "I don't know but you are talking so retail now so what do you want?"Turns out these folks have a reputation in the community for their horrendously poor attitudes and behavior. It's apparently bad enough people will drive out of their way down to Joseph so they don't have to deal with them.

Everything you need without having to use Amazon or travel far. Fun store and great selection of kid toys. Prices were super reasonable. Staff was semi friendly

These folks are locals, have in stock or can get most anything we can imagine. It is rarely occurs to drop by and not find what you are looking for from animal food to vehicle maintenance and outdoor recreation supplies. We are lucky to have this in our community.

If you return an item of theirs that is flawed, you just might get the response we got when we returned an item: "so you got your use out of it and now you are returning it". Who does business like that? We purchased a small canopy which was so incredibly feeble in it's durability that the already bent center support bent even more once we attempted to put it up. Does it seem reasonable that the customer should have to deal with a snide remark for returning an extremely overpriced faulty item? I don't think so either, which is why Ace or Joseph Hardware is where our family will be shopping every time from now on.

Unless you are one their “well known” regulars, you don’t get an acknowledgement, a “ Hi there” or even a smile. What you do get is , Ignored ... We walked around until we found what we were looking for. By then I said, “screw this”. When we walked out the person at the register just gave us a glare and didn’t say a word. Honestly for the years we’ve lived here, I should’ve known better, We will continue to shop at Joseph Hardware. No matter how convenient it is to stop at G.G

If looking for cat or small dog carriers they have them and are in the back part where they sell feed and chicks at Easter.
