ADORABLE!! The lush grounds were inviting and whether you're in a tent or rv - the sites were very well maintained. The town is picturesque with history everwhere - it really feels like you've stepped back in time. And the people? In just a few days I made 2 long-term friends. Everyone was friendly and genuine. The only catch is to make sure you're there in season - otherwise most places are closed. If you're not there for the restaurants or shops though - it's perfect.I can't wait to get back!

The Rv park is 💯 top notch. All sites are well kept and level. Facility shows it’s pride and cleanliness everywhere from restroom/shower to yard care etc… Best place in the area to stay and there is a lot of activity and things to do Just google “things to do near Dayville” to find out. And really if you’re going to give this park a lower rating because of things that is out of their control like weather etc… then maybe you should plan better. Just saying! I would give this park a higher rating the 5 if it would allow us to do so 👍

Pleasant rooms lovingly appointed with homestyle decor. Friendly proprietor got us settled in even though we arrived after 8pm. Kids loved watching Paw Patrol on the satellite TV.Walkability: Walk down to the convenience store, the general store, and the cafe.

The hosts are wonderful, personable, and accommodating. The grounds are gorgeous with lots of gardens and fruit trees, and the rooms are clean and cozy. Lots of play structures for little ones. You’re close to all the tourist spots that John Day has to offer without being right in town and surrounded by crowds. There is a cafe next store and a gas station nearby (the only one for about 20 miles in either direction). We plan to come back again!

This is a very quaint little rv park. There are less than ten full hook up sites and similar that are just electric hookups. The camp host/owners were very nice and accomodating. I had the unfortunate experience to go when it was the hottest time of the year but it doesn't put a damper on this place. Wonderfully situated with fruit trees abundant around the camp. A ping pong table that all the kids of camp were playing. A nice little play yard for the kids. The camp was very pet friendly and they have nice laundry facilities and very clean showers. If I'm ever in the area again I would definitely stay here.

We just got back from a 2 week road trip that took us through 10 campsites. While we camped in several very nice RV parks, The Fish House Inn was easily the nicest spot we camped. The grounds are lovely, very shaded, lush & green and full of fruit trees. We were there on the 4th of July and the party was centered at the Fish House, which is clearly a huge part of the Dayville community. It was a wonderful spot to camp and if we had the time we would have stayed longer. Super easy access to the John Day Fossil Beds and we also went to the Painted Hills Unit, which must not be overlooked! Truly stunning!! Thanks for welcoming us into your family during your July 4th festivities, Fish House! We will definitely camp here again.

Fish House Inn and RV Park was excellent! We stopped for a night and stayed in the Salmon Suite. It was lovely and extremely comfortable! So nice to relax there after about 400 miles on the motorcycles in 100° heat!We will certainly stay there again should we find ourselves passing back through Dayville again!

The Fish House is a true treasure in Eastern Oregon. We first stayed here in 1994, and the cabins were clean and cozy. This last week, we visited again, but this time with our travel trailer, so this review is about the RV facility. Here is a handful of RV lots that are back-in, well graded gravel pads. Full hook-ups and service panels are very well located. If you've ever camped at locations where the sewer is over 2 hoses away and uphill, you know what poor layout means. However, that is not the case here, so well done, Fish House! And if wifi is important, their download speeds were good (35 -45 Mbps). Our 3 night stay was quiet and pleasant. Surrounding the gravel parking pads, there is a lot of grass, trees and picnic benches. We even had a small chicken coop next to our space, so the sounds were very soothing. All in all, a wonderful place! I highly recommend it, if you're in the area. Lots of great day trips nearby, if you like paleontology and geology. Also, the Dayville Cafe nearby has the best pies!

Best kept secret in eastern Oregon! Grounds are impeccably maintained. Very welcoming atmosphere. We stayed in the Main House, an amazingly charming older home. It was decorated appropriately and has a petina and a feel like you're staying at grandma's house. It is well equipped with everything you need. The 3 bedrooms each have their very own charm and comfortable beds. It is pet friendly too!! Definitely returning someday soon for a longer stay. Maybe even with my RV, as they have RV and camping spots too!Highly recommend this property!!! MB

We tent camped for a weekend. The campground is very nice, with beautiful grass and a picnic table for each site. The owner was constantly caring for the grounds, cleaning and organizing things. The bathrooms and showers were very comfortable and clean, and even supplied towels. The one downside, that I don't know if there's anything to be done about it by the campground or by the campers- while packing up our tent at the end of our weekend stay, we discovered that our tent had been infested with Earwigs. After maybe thirty minutes of trying to get rid of them from every crevice to no avail, we decided that our tent was old enough that it's not worth the effort that it would take to clean it, and threw it out:-/One more comment is that there were only two bathrooms for quite a big campground, so adding another few could be helpful.

Lovely little find on the way to the Painted Hills from John Day. The owners are laid back and welcomed our puppy to run off some energy with their two dogs on the grass. There is a community fire pit they light in the evenings with a bbq. The restrooms and showers are very clean and the on-site laundry is convenient! Not to mention the beautiful views. Will be staying here again.

This was such a pleasure to find. We needed a trip to eastern Oregon to experience all that is wonderful in that area and Fish House Inn was a great fit for what we wanted. I was looking for mellow, relaxed, clean, and two rooms to be a bit separated from the kids. It was all of that and more. After three nights, the kids didn't want to leave. Lots of grass, picnic tables, ping pong, walkable to the store, mercantile, and Dayville Cafe. Great experience.

Beautiful, serene, friendly describes Fish House RV park. In the charming tiny town of Dayville, it's a worthy destination in its own right. There are nice trees, open areas, friendly staff and adequate sized sites. We don't have kids with us but it looks quite kid friendly. Also pet friendly. We stayed two days on a two week trip and could have stayed there at least a week.

Stayed 4 nights in our trailer while exploring Sheep Rock and Painted Hills Units of JD Fossil Beds.Spotless and maintained restrooms with laundry. Owners are friendly and helpful. Other campers around the fire made for pleasant evenings. We enjoyed the Dayville Cafe and walking our dog around the town and up to the school or out the South Fork road.

This is such a wonderful family friendly spot! I've never spent time in Dayville but I'm so glad we found the Fishhouse Inn and RV for our Spring Break seeing the John Day Fossil Beds in our camper! Our two girls played nonstop with David and Lindee's two little girls on the awesome play area they created at the back corner of the property when we weren't out exploring. The grounds are perfectly maintained and the shower/bathrooms are sparkling clean. You can also do laundry (for a small fee). We had a great breakfast at the Dayville Cafe just a short walk away and got ice cream at the shop right next door. John Day and the Clyde Holliday State Park is a 20-30 min drive away for more activities and dining options! We will definitely be back and I highly recommend them to any family wanting to explore this part of eastern Oregon in an RV/Camper!!

The perfect spot to stay if you're visiting the John Day Fossil Beds Nat'l Monument area! The location is convenient and easy to access, with level and spacious full hookup RV spots. Despite being right off the main road, it is very quiet. The showers are spacious and the Wi-Fi is strong. The hosts were easy to communicate with and very friendly. We look forward to staying here again when we're in the area!

Great owners! Easy booking and very hospitable. Personal welcome outside upon arrival. We stayed in the Salmon Suite with our toddler and dog. It was nice and clean. Perfect for kids with raspberry bushes right outside the door for quick snack. We brought frozen meals and just used the microwave then ate a picnic outside the suite on a provided picnic table and chairs. There was also a BBQ grill available.

What charming place. We stayed in the Salmon Suite. It is small but so cute. Very clean and very quite. We had a good night's rest. The town closes up early so make sure you have snacks for supper. I knew this and was prepared, everything worked out great.

Came through town on a bicycle trip. Super nice, park-like spot for camping or staying in a room. Clean, well appointed space near fun cafes and the market. The RV Park was a shady oasis. I arrived early and had no problems getting my accommodations quickly. Laundry, fridge and everything you need is available. I will definitely try to come back.

I would not frequent John Day as often if it were not for the Fish House Inn. I first stayed in our rv with a dog. Loved it. A place that just feels perfect.I later dropped in last minute needing two rooms and they went out of their way to accommodate us. Again the FH Inn completed our trip.I can not express it enough. I drive 6 hours with visiting family because the Fish House inn is an incredible place to stay. Perfect home base .
