General store since 1896!Has that old general store fell and friendly staff. They have some canned good and groceries, but mostly cold drinks, liquor, ice, candy and snacks. They have a bunch of odd old timey stuff. Oregon New papers from 1870 & 1890. Old comic books. Not sure if any of this is for sale or just decorations. On the weekends the stagecoach in the parking lot area has bbq and it is delicious!

Awesome little shop with grocery store and fossils. Variety of camping items and souvenirs. I don't know if he's the owner but the same guy is always there. Super helpful and love showing people all the fossils and different things like that that were found in the area.

Needed fuel bad! A gentleman approached as we pulled in letting us know he had fuel available in 5 gallon jugs. We split one between two motorcycles which got us down the road to a town with gas stations.

If you’re headed east towards Mount Vernon or John day and you’re going through Dayville, then this is a quick stop right off of the road pull right and gas up. Pull out and keep going.. it’s only one pump they take credit cards and it’s actually open 24 hours a day as far as being able to get gas at the pump. Nice clean little store inside with a deli, can’t go wrong. Stop in here.

Grab the peanut brittle if you stop in here. It's made by the owner and very good. All purpose general store with a lot of options for rockhounds to browse.

Despite the folksy appearance, the clerk inside was not happy to see me. A place to buy obsidian flakes and defiant t-shirts, but not much else. A large family of feral cats is fed on the porch, but like the shopkeeper, they don’t want your company.

This is great place. It was built in 1893. It has a nice friendly atmosphere. The staff was very nice. They have lots of items. They had some really delicious homemade candy. You need to wear a mask . I liked that they took time to talk to me and have interesting information about the store. I recommend it if you're ever in the area. It is a beautiful place .

Super friendly cute little store. I could've spent more time poking around in the corners but will have to save that for another day. Good selection of dry goods some fruits and veggies, beverages aplenty. Nice entertaining parking lot. A really nice spot to get out and stretch before Hwy 26 gets curvy.

Awesome spot to stop to get some snacks, or freshly made sandwiches. Definitely try pop's homemade fudge and candy!! I often make the trip just for that and to visit with Scott and pop's, the owners. Very friendly people.

I absolutely love the travel through time, more places should have preserved their town an its historical landmarks such as this one. Stunning and a very neat place to even just drive through. The boys at the Danyville Mercantile store were pleasant to chit chat with and were more than just helpful. Very neat store and a pat on the back for preserving their towns natural beauty for not only themselves but others

I loved this historic store. As their sign says if it's in Stock they have it. The individuals who work there dress in period clothing and are super friendly. Although one man was wearing a six shooter which seemed to freak some people out. They are super tourist friendly and are bike friendly. It is a must stop on hwy 26

One of the most reliable stores in this area, if you live here, because they are open reasonable hours and always pretty well stocked with both merch and friendly folks. Most businesses aren't open Sundays 'round these parts which is annoying if you happen to work during the weekdays and need weekends to restock the pantry.

A godsend for anyone going through. Excellent service, very nice selection, and SUPER friendly. Was cycling through with a leaky tire. The folks threw some Stans in, a bit of oil on the chain, and I was back on the road! Many many thanks for helping me get to Bend!
