Andrea assisted with flowers for my August wedding. She was amazing from start to finish. She listened to my colors and budget! My flowers stayed fresh for a full week. Wedding guests loved taking home the table arrangements. Definitely 5 star service and quality!

i usually never write bad reviews, especially for local businesses. my visits to shonnards have increasingly declined over the years, but today made me decide to never go back. from a lot of their house plants typically coming with spider mites, to a slimmer than normal selection of plants, I was still willing to shop local. however, the employee with blonde hair and glasses rudely told me to “not touch,” and “look with my eyes only” as if I was a toddler. I am well versed in house plants, and know that softly touching a leaf will not damage the plant, as she stated would happen. there was no sign saying not to touch the plants, and they weren’t behind a glass case, so the condescending attitude was unnecessary and made me feel unwelcome. not coming back.

It is stunning, just driving by this store, so we finally pulled in to give it a looky -loo. Wow! High quality plants. Good displays and just about any tool or soil amendment you could ever need. Friendly and knowledgeable staff is available. It’s much bigger than you think when to speed by. I really was intrigued with the unique collection of native plants- be sure to search for them (back outdoor right side). So find this happy place to make your happy place at home.

They have an outstanding selection of native plants. Super kind staff took time to answer my questions and gave a lot of helpful advice. I ended up finding all the plants on my list (plus a few more, of course). They even delivered for a reasonable fee. 5 stars!

I love the selection and how friendly the employees are. The water features over make it beautiful and peaceful to shop. Only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars is the cost. We only really buy plants food or bring in pollinators, so no just beauty plant buying. The berries and edible plants sold here are always almost $5-10 dollars more expensive than the othe main nurseries we go to. It is in my top 3 for Linn/Lane/Benton county but do wish the cost was a bit lower on some things. Was looking for a specific blueberry type and for thr exact same size (and same company that they buy from) was $10 more than the other 2 places we normally buy. Their bee section here is great here for variety though and have bought a few mason bee homes here. So we come here for a lot of reasons but cost does gave us go other places about half the time sadly. We always recommend people come check them out though because they are a great nursery even with the price.

I just got back from a quick trip to Shonnard’s. I don’t drive over there often, because for me, it’s all the way on the other side of town. But when I need any kind of garden product or get ready to buy seeds or plants, I make the trip. When I got home, there was an email from them in my inbox which included my receipt and a pdf with all kinds of info about how and when to use the product I just bought. This is not unusual. Just about every time I shop there, I get an email like that that tells me exactly what I need to know to grow my plant or use my product. Now that’s customer service! I also subscribe to their newsletter because it’s full of helpful info that’s up to date for our area and the season. That’s just a couple of the reasons I shop at Shonnard’s but not the only ones. I also love supporting a local business. Did I mention they have online classes and a really good YouTube channel? And knowledgeable, helpful staff? The list could go on and on.

Eddit: Shonnard's has since contacted me and I am sympathetic to the extenuating circumstances that caused this delay.We have liked the nursery since moving here, it is a very nice store close to home with lots of selection, and for the most part staff has been friendly. So we decided to ask their florist to do our wedding, exsept we haven't be able to get a hold of her and I've been trying for a good month.I called, was told she'd be their on Mondays but to fill out a form on line. So I filled out the form and never heard back, so two weeks later I come in on Monday and she is not there. I'm told to email to make an appointment, I emailed over a week ago and never got a response.It seems like there is a big disconnect between the nursery and the florist. I didn't love the shuffle around the nursery staff gave me but I'd still rate them 4 or 5 out of 5. The florist is a 0 or disqualified as there has been no communication.

This nursery has a great layout. As I wandered around picking garden starts and flowers I found they also have an amazing selection! From indoor flora to native plant landscaping dazzlers, to bees. Definitely recommended for a shopper that would like to find a new favorite plant place.

We have have purchased all of our summer flowers here for years and have been extremely happy until today. We were looking for petunias and the supply was very picked over. We made the mistake of asking if they planned to get any more in and were condescended to by whoever does their ordering. First we were shamed about asking for “just regular pink & purple petunias” (sorry, we’re not experts on petunia nomenclature). This person was exceedingly condescending and proceeded to tell us that she might be willing to put us on a “wish list”. She assured us that she was very proud of their supply of petunias. We went from being regular, very happy customers to never setting foot in there again - and all because of the snotty attitude of this one person. So much for doing business with locals.

Good selection of high quality gardening supplies and plants for both indoor and outdoor garden and growing. Excellent service from the staff. Need beekeeping supplies or pond supplies? Native plants, seeds or bulbs? They have those as well. My favorite garden store in the midvalley.

I wanted to plant a pollinator friendly garden and Shonnard's really helped me out! Multiple employees were available to help me and offer advice. Darren was extremely helpful and showed me around 20 beautiful plants that are now in my backyard. They even gave me a sketch showing roughly how they should be placed and spaced. I can not recommend this business enough! Go! You will not be disappointed.

When we do our garden each year we always count on Shonnard's to have the best starts, seeds, advice and great knowledgeable customer service. Besides, it's a really pleasant, interesting and fun place to visit. They have beautiful, healthy house plants. We try to always buy our greeting cards there as well. You can't lose.

This is a really bad business. Be careful when you hire them to do work for you. I hired them to fix my sprinkler leaks last November. After that they sent me a bill, and I paid right away.Since it was winter I did not check if the sprinkler work or not after they said they fixed it. However when I turned on my irrigation system this summer, I found that sprinkler didn’t work, no water came out from that sprinkler.. so I called again informing them the sprinkler was not fixed. They came and did some adjustments, and then it worked.Since they came just to finish their work, and I paid them last winter for the working sprinkler, I shouldn’t owe them anything for the second trip. However they sent me another bill. When I called to discuss the bill. the person was very rude insisting I needed to pay them a again.

I used Shonnards for the first time in 2019 for their irrigation; backflow and sprinkler "tune up". I'd initially changed over because they had better pricing than previous company. I did not realize they would charge extra for the sprinklers to be turned on and for each man they sent. I'd paid up front and then got hit with a bill for the rest of the labor, thus resulting in zero savings. I paid the extra promptly after calling and learning why I was charged more. Having more knowledge from that experience, this year I requested same service, but do NOT fix anything. Do the backflow testing and simply check the sprinklers. Do not repair anything, come to me and inform me of anything wrong. I was told everything looked good. Nearly a month later I open up my mail to a bill for "additional irrigation labor".I spoke to Heidi - a manager at Shonnards and we discussed my bill and how to more clearly communicate to the customer what they are paying for when they use the service. It sounds like my yard is not standard in that I have 12 zones so this could go beyond the 1 hour, which is the typical time they allot for the service.Heidi assured me that they are taking all concerns seriously, she listened to my experience and will try to educate customers as this isn't the typical experience. She agreed to remove the charges, which I appreciate, and more than that I appreciated the calm demeanor and serious attention to my issue. Thank you Heidi.
