I just can’t say enough good things about this place, these people, and the product offerings. I moved away from Corvallis a few years ago, but the kind folks at the Co-op continue to provide me with my favorite whole coffee beans from afar. My favorite things about the co-op are the soup/salad bar, the delicious fresh-n-ready sandwiches, desserts, coffee, produce, and of course the amazing bulk foods section. Both locations are amazing for general groceries, a quick meal, or even awesome locally made treasures. I miss being able to treat myself to a beautiful fresh flower bouquet. Really. I just miss Corvallis in general. If you find yourself in town, check this place out. You won’t be disappointed!

A little pricey but what stores like this aren't. The sales are where the bargains are. The Co-op has a great selection, their bakery features fresh local baked good. Their chocolate buttermilk cupcakes are a must! The staff is friendly and the store is spotless. The selection is diverse and unique, yet you can still find the familiar you are seeking. A lifetime membership is $70. But, anybody can shop there.

This seems like one of few locally owned grocery stores in Corvallis, Oregon. I love the fact they are one of first grocery stores ihere to sell organic food.

Amazing all around. Wonderful staff, great variety of produce, hot food, pastries, groceries, and more. Deals are regularly available and there's always something new to try. Get their Chocolate Orange Cheesecake if you can.

Local, humane, organic, Corvallis staple. People read the labels here and care about what they are consuming and from where it came.

The North Co-op is my favorite grocery store. They generally have high quality local produce at good prices. The owner discount is helpful for food budgets. They have some good vegan baked goods, and their bulk section is outstanding. The atmosphere in the store is friendly and relaxing.

Prices have gone up noticeably in the past few months. Who can afford to shop here regularly?? It’s a lot cheaper to shop for produce at the farmers’ market! Customer service is hit-or-miss with some very kind employees and others that just can’t be bothered. On top of that, the bakery items are poor quality and deli ready-foods are crazy overpriced. I do subscribe to a cooperative, community-minded philosophy and prefer to shop bulk/zero-waste/locally/sustainably. But this co-op seems to cater to a high-income clientele with more focus on high-priced organic items than equitable access and collective purchasing power.

Great local grocer, serving South Corvallis for over 50 years. If you are looking for quality food and beverage at a great price, minimal packaging - this place is for you. My first stop for all my food needs. Excellent customer service and knowledgable staff. Extensive bulk selection.

Love everything about this place. Fresh produce. Great variety in the bulk bins. Lots of locally sourced foods. Fun non food items too! Cards, mugs, jewelry, pins, stickers and more! Hot breakfast bar, coffee, and tea available every morning. Salad bar available at 11. Take out or eat in the seating area. Helpful and friendly people!COVID update: No salad bar, coffee bar, or in store dining. Can grab prepared food to go. Masks requires. Surfaces sanitized between customers.

Definitely the manager with the pink hair on top of her noggin Definitely looks at people like they don't belong there. She said she's been there 7 years you would think she'd be a lot less judgmental of african American individuals. Nasty energy to experience while shopping. You think someone working there for a decade would be nicer. But I guess the longer u stay working somewhere..the more bitter you become. Or maybe just to DARKER INDIVIDUALS

.50 cent scoops of rice and $2 cups of soup? Incredible. Dinner on a budget. And super healthy. Homemade muffins and cookies? The best. Great produce section, and lots of bulk to choose from. Fun people to jibe with. Get outta town! (but stop here first). North store rules the school (sorry South, never been the same since you lost the tree).

Co-op, the term hopefully will grow among us. FA( First Alternative) brings fresh produce from local farms, ethical products, so many choices abound. Vegan products are popular, the store offers meat and dairy products from local and/or state. They offer a deli that provides dishes to heat, huge array of desserts and go food like sandwiches, each half wrapped separately, salads and innovative food ideas. A well stocked variety in bulk foods also, wine and beer, local bakery bread and so much more. It is a true co-op, membership is for lifetime, voting for delegates for the Board and discounts.❤❤❤

I absolutely love the quality of each product they carry, as I have yet to find fault in anything I have purchased. However, the service here is quite terrible. Each time I check out the cashiers act very odd and never want to chat. Only once has a cashier given me a bean for the fundraising- never had I known about that. I will continue to shop here as I feel I always get great produce and grocery items (plus I love their bulk section) but the quality of customer service is at a very low point.

This is a good store for me to look for spices and grains in the bulk section. It is very convenient to park, go in and get things quickly. Many people do not value convenience so other stores where prices for the same item is lower (sometimes 40% -50% of the First Alternative price) are a good option. All in all, I like coming here when I don't have tons of time to go to bigger stores.

Love the selection. Very expensive but usually worth it, I shop here whenever I want the best fruits and veggies in town. However, once I bought a loaf of organic bread from here, then one day later it was covered in black mold. I don't know their quality check system, but it was kinda disappointing

As a student, I'm grateful this is an option. I eat at their cheap and delicious salad bar/hot food bar 3 times a week. As a grocery store, I do wish they had more options all around. I prefer Capellas Market in Eugene if I need to do major grocery shopping. That said, their sales and prices are better than Capellas. The name First Alternative Natural Food Co-op is just awkward but does it really matter? Thanks for being my nearly daily lunch go-to. The wholesome food is nourishing for my engineering studies.

Really great service. We lived in Albany for over 10 years and went here every week.We moved to Florida can't find a certain spice that can only be found at the Co-Op. I called and they immediately mailed us 3 packs, Priority Mail. Thanks so much.

Definitely would not choose this as my go too store. There are several other places in town way cheaper and have much better employees and managment. Who wants to pay $5 for a sports drink?
