This is the only vet we’ve used in the area but I am convinced that they have to be the best one! They’ve taken incredible care of our dogs. I appreciate how the vet here has an innate skill and understanding in caring for my pets. He’s quick but thorough in his exams and my pets are never unhappy coming here. In fact my beagle was more comfortable here than any vet we’ve ever taken her to. She pranced her way through the office last time. They are everything you hope for when searching for a place to trust your fur babies with. Even with after hours emergencies they are incredibly responsive and go the extra mile to make sure your pet is taken care of.

Glad to have it in the area and frankly, didn't get a great impression of the place.You get one of those food truck buzzers and wait in your vehicle, the staff seems very inexperienced and the veterinarian is a character that looks and acts like he might sell Quaker Oats.Very stereotypical country doctor type.The staff gives conflicting information and the veterinarian will flat out lie to you about minor, but important details, but otherwise seems good-natured; suspenders and all.Avoid and go to Morgan's in Coos Bay.

Today I went to a veterinarian that is a reminder of what only experience can give. I feared initially my dog had the first tic I’ve ever experienced on one of my pets. Although I have been to 2 other vets in the area I was still searching for that one who practices with confidence based on experience. First time in a long time, and a long line of pets, that I didn’t feel like their guess was as good as my diagnosis from internet research and it didn’t take several visits to figure it out. I took my American Bulldog in when he suddenly had this huge abscess or something on his ear that wasn’t there the night before. He was in a lot of pain and distress and I was thinking whatever it takes we’ll get it fixed even though it might mean a new budget. I sent pictures to Dr. O’Connell because if it was a tic for sure I wanted it out…..NOW! He gave me a call after hours, I thinkIt was 8:30 pm and with confidence said it’s a non-cancerous……carcinoma. See you in the morning. By the time we got to our appointment it had greatly decreased in size, just as typically experienced by other pet owners with the same diagnosis and required no intervention. Experience is something you don’t get with a degree, and a genuine love and care for animals as well as compassion for their owners doesn’t put $$ signs in your eyes! I am so impressed that when I get my 2 week, free, re-check appointment, I’m going to find out who Dr. O’Connell would suggest would be most benefited and appreciative of donations to include random actions and last will and testament designations. This guy is the real deal! I could go on and on but I think you get the jist if it!! Thanks to Dr. O’Connell and his remarkable staff for their service and for not only caring for my buddy but re-instilling in me that there are still people who do good for others because……well, it’s the right thing to do. Best vet hospital around. Dr. O'Donnell was so kind and careful with my sick kitty. I had to get and pay for an emergency visit, but it was worth the cost for him to see her and get her some much needed relief after two weeks of spending a ton of money with a local vet who didn't help her conditions!

Dr. O'Donnell is a great caring vet and is affordable. His emergency rate is higher than other vets, but he doesn't try and gouge you once you get in. He is open on Saturdays, too. I would highly recommend him. He is very busy, so for regular appointments, he is booked out for around 2 weeks.You can hardly ever get someone to answer when you call his office. I either call the emergency number and leave a message, or I just show up there.

Our dog needed updated vaccinations so we scheduled while on vacation in a different time zone. That set the wrong time on the calendar when we were back in our local time zone and we arrived late for our appointment. The great team at Coquille Animal Hospital made sure our 45-minute drive wasn't wasted and squeezed us in. THANK YOU!

We lost our little female boxer. I took her to Dr O'Donnell and he showed us both such kindness and love. He was Saying very reassuring kind words of comfort when I needed it the most. The vet techs were also very kind and comforting and two weeks after she passed I got a beautiful little card with a heart shaped dog tag that read "In loving memory of Delaina". I am now and always will be so thankful for the kindess they all showed. 10/10

Callie--Although I had never been there before, they allowed me to bring in my sweet Callie kitty on Christmas eve day for urgent care.Unfortunately she was unable to be saved. Dr. said, "this cat is dying. We can take heroic measures if you want but she isn't going to last very long and she won't get well." My broken heart shattered at the news yet my logical side knew he was right and I needed that confirmation.Dr. and his staff were kind and considerate giving me time to say goodbye to my baby girl even though they were busy and trying to close for the holiday. They offered Kleenex and privacy as well. When it was time, Dr. explained everything before he did it and gave me the option to leave the room or stay.I stayed with Callie until she was gone and then went up front to pay the bill while the staff prepared Callie's body for me to take home. They wrapped her in plastic, then in a white pillowcase tied with a pink ribbon.Dr. carried her to the car for me and expressed his condolences as he handed her to me.Although this was a heartbreaking experience for me, I will be back with my other kitty for his routine care. Any Dr. and staff who can be unhurried and compassionate on a busy holiday when a patient/owner are struggling has my vote of confidence.UpdateDexter--Dr. O'donovan has saved Dexter twice now. In 2018 Dexter went into renal failure. His skin had started turning yellow. Usually by that time they can't be saved. By some miracle oral steroids and subcutaneous fluids for about a week got my kitty on the road to recovery.Dexter--2023Dexter had become lethargic and wanting to lay in his litter box. He's never done that before. I took Dexter in for bloodwork, which only showed slight anemia (darned fleas) but upon physical examination Dr. and assistant found a lump that I hadn't noticed. It turned out to be a big abscess which was removed yesterday in surgery. After a difficult night last night Dexter was still unable to keep anything down so I couldn't give him his oral antibiotic and pain meds.I took Dexter back in and they gave him subcutaneous fluids and injections of anti nausea, antibiotic and pain meds.About an hour after we had returned home Dexter had some water and some crunchy food. He kept it all down!I am so appreciative of Dr. O'donovan and his staff. Everyone has been incredibly kind and helpful. Thank you!

Honestly when it comes to pet care this place is amazing. They even have their own pharmacy. Only complaint is there entire filing system is only on paper so they can never find our cats file. Ps if the owner is reading this I will gladly set up a full computerized filing system for you.

My dog was attacked at the dog park in Coquille, and they took him in. They were absolutely wonderful. Cindi and Doc took amazing care of my dog. Cini took care of contacting the gentleman whose dog attacked mine and resolved the bill over the phone immediately.

Dr.D is AMAZING as is the entire staff! I didn’t feel like I was being over charged at all. His years of knowledge and expertise along with his streamline office procedures get you in and out with confidence that your fur baby is well cared for and your pocketbook is still intact!

Dr. Ed O'Donnell is a notch above the rest in his medical skill level and overall intellect.My prior veterinarian told me, I would have to take my dog to a dental specialist, but Dr. Ed completed the surgery successfully.Dr. Ed and his staff are very compassionate and patient with you while you navigate through uncharted medical options deciding on procedures during emotional times. Dr. Ed takes the time to listen and answer any concern .Sadly, I recently had to put down my other dog at this facility due to age. I am grateful for the compassion and kind words of support from Cindy during this heart breaking moment.These people care about your pet and you.

This was absolutely everything I thought it would be! The vet was amazing and did the most thorough physical exam on my dogs I think they have ever had! I can’t express how happy I am with everything! They let me know upfront what to expect with the cost, right down to the test we needed done! Excellent old school vet, our dog has had a issue off and in for couple years. Two vets in CA couldn't figure it out charged us 1300 and 1700 for visits. Never figuring out problem. This vet had it figured out in 15 minutes. No trauma to our dog no overnight visit. No crazy amount either. Exceptional vet...

AMAZING PLACE!!! Thanks to the awesome and caring staff my 2 kitties quality of life couldn't be better! Originally going in both cats are older (14 and 17) but experiencing separate issues which terrified me because of their age. After our visit both were set up with a plan to maintain the issues and are doing great! It turned out one cat is diabetic and the other is hyper sensitive to fleas which caused the seizures.
