We’ve purchased our Christmas and Easter hams for the past three years. The first ham we ate was absolutely delicious, but we’ve noticed a decline in quality with our last few purchases. Our 2024 Easter ham (boneless) that I baked today was a huge disappointment. The ham smelled “off” after it was baked, and I had to add bouillon to the drippings to make it palatable for a gravy. I’m sad to say that will be our last Carlton Farms ham.

I have bought several boxes of beef patties over time. Suddenly they started putting the patties in two stacks in box instead of one stack of patties 1 on top of the other. The patties were mashed, misshapen and not easily separated . And now they changed the bacon packaging so you cannot very well see the quality of the bacon you are buying. I'm tired of good companies going bad after being bought by larger groups. The bean counters start making the decisions. Carlton seems to be on a downhill slide. Can we really trust the new Carlton for the quality we used to get from the old Carlton? I'm not so sure.

The Carlton Farms pork spare ribs and baby back ribs were amazing on my pellet grill. I used Bad Bones Devine Swine Rub and finished with Bad Bones Beast champion BBQ Sauce.

I recently had the pleasure of touring Carlton Farms. The production and processing rooms were very clean and efficient. The brine room and smoke house smelled heavenly. I purchased a pack of smoked peppered bacon and two ribeye steaks, we loved them! The steak was very tender and flavorful, easy to grill. Possibly the best meat I have purchased and cooked.

We ordered a 4 pack of rib eye steaks for a special occasion. They shipped it overnight. They arrived in perfect condition and all of us agreed they were delicious. Much better than the grocery store.

I'm sorry to say im very disappointed in this place. I made a mad dash from work to get there before closing yesterday, mostly for their advertised special on bacon. Only to be told the special was over. It was still on their chalkboard, and the FB post states through Dec 1(i was there on nov 30). Like everyone else, I'm on a tight budget but wanted to treat my family to some quality bacon and made a trip 45 minutes out of my way. To me, this is a shady business practice. I'll take my business elsewhere in the future.Update - the business has reached out to me to correct this situation. Their products are great and reasonably priced. So I'm updating the rating. But I would still say be vigilant when shopping there.

Grabbed some Carlton Farms bacon from the local Roth's. Super tasty, huge smoke flavor that you could smell while it was cooking. Nice thick slices I might add. Definitely recommend 👌

Went in to order meat got 3 family packs. Picked up but some was left out I did call with this concern they made it right and were so nice and easy to deal with. Would go back. The staff is so nice store was clean and well stoked. Nice people to deal with for sure.

The last two years now, we received one of their nugget hams as a holiday gift from a friend each year. The first year we tried the ham for our New Year's dinner and it wasn’t that great, it was tough and chewy, and no real flavor. Then this year our friend gave us another nugget ham, and I thought maybe we just got a bad one last year, so once again we had it for our New Year’s dinner, and it was just like the year before tough and chewy, and no flavor. I think that if my friend offers us one for this holiday year, I might have to politely turn the offer down.

My wife and i bought 4 ribeyes and a bunch of pork.The shop was nothing like a butcher shop. I asked about better cuts of ribeye and I was directed to the pre-packaged ribeye. Not trimmed well at all. We cooked the sausage, it was two kinds and they were not great at all.My biggest gripe is the 3 of the 4 ribeyes bubbled into bowls. More corn in their meat than grain.Don't wast your money.

I have ordered gift packs from their website and had shipped to family in different states. Also love purchasing in their Carlton store and at other markets. Their products taste great and the cost is very reasonable. I purchased vacuum sealed packages for easy transport and storage. But the seem to have everything in any quantity - beef, pork, fowel.

Was given a smoked Turkey last year. It was best I've ever had. So good that I've already reserved mine for this year. And the girl on phone that took my order was very friendly and helpful. Thanks guys you'll save me alot of hassle on Thanksgiving. And make everyone think that I can actually cook. LOL👍

This is a wonderful place to purchase meat! All kinds! They have it all, pork, beef, frozen or fresh. Place is so clean! Why pay a middle man (the grocery store) when you can get it all right here. And it's fresher! My husband and I always wanted to stop in and just never did, so we finally did. Don't wait, stop in soon and see for yourself.

I will never go back. Called to see when ground beef will be available. 3 days. Called back that morning. Nope, but you can reserve some for 7 days from now. No thank you. Will go somewhere else. This happened several different times. Will not happen again.

My first meal of their Bierwurst sausage included gristle and a too thick casing. Spicing ok. I was hoping for better. Gristle in sausage is avoidable caused by sloppy trimming. I may pick my way through one more or just toss them all.Gartner's in NE Portland has a decades long history producing the highest quality gristle free sausages. They have a large variety. They now ship. Over the many years I purchased from them they were always perfect. Folks try Gartner's first for sausages. Soon I intend to call and place an order.

Love everything about Carlton Farms - especially since we live only minutes away, and thus get to enjoy the fresh meat directly from the storefront!! Picked up our Thanksgiving turkey and ham today, already excited about it. :)

I ordered 6 packages of of peppered bacon in the beginning of December. I only received 3 of them. I called them immediately, they said they would send the other 3. It took a few weeks, but they gave me 3 free packages in addition to the 3 missing from my original order to make up for it.

Called this morning to see if corned beef was available. They said yes, it's on sale! Asked if we need to have an order set aside for noon pick up. They said no need, we have plenty. Got there at noon, and they had none. Then the counter help proceeds to walk away.......... 1-1/2 hours down the drain! That's how you lose customers. AMF and off to The Meating Place we go!

Two. Rib Eye steaks bought by my son for his mothers birthday and my (late) fathers day. I cooked them using a meat probe temp gauge to med rare to med. Had to be the worst steaks I have ever eaten. Texture was not like a rib eye tuff and very grisely. I have had much better meat from Safeway, Fred Meyer and Thriftway. Very disappointing and expensive..

I don't eat a lot of meat but when I do I insist that it be quality, the animals be treated humanely throughout their lives and that the farming practices be sustainable. Carlton Farms is one of the few area farms that can mark off each one of those boxes.

Hamlet schoolhouse in seaside purchases a luau pig every year from carton farms they are great to us.They had signage for masks and ask that I sanitize when I came in. All of thier employees had masks and gloves 👍👍
