This groomer is really truly horrible, in oh-so-many ways.The first thing I noticed when I dropped my dog off was the overwhelming filth. Although I couldn't smell any pee or poop, the whole front of the salon is coated with every other kind of dust, muck, and dirt. At this point, I <almost> "noped" my dog right outta there, but she was overdue for a grooming & we didn't want any further delays.The next less-than-lovely thing about this salon was how long it took. Admittedly, our Shih-Tzu was overdue for a grooming, but even with removing mats, a wash followed by a doggie buzz cut should NOT have taken almost 7 hours. ESPECIALLY after scheduling the appointment so far in advance! (Our previous groomer groomed this same dog beautifully in well under 2 hours, no matter how overdue we were. And her facility was clean enough for a surgeon to operate in.)The third unpleasant surprise was that despite my clear verbal and written instructions NOT to spritz our dog with perfume, she was an absolute scent bomb when I picked her up. This failure to follow a basic direction would be an annoyance to many people, but I am allergic to most scents, so their choice to ignore my request could have been dangerous. So, AFTER spending almost 7 hours at this filthy salon, I STILL ended up having to give my dog a bath if I wanted to be able to breathe today.The fourth unpleasant surprise was the price. Our (sainted) former groomer charged us $40 per grooming before she moved out of the area 4 years ago. For that $40, our dog was impeccably groomed in under 2 hours in an ultra hygienic facility, and she didn't need a 2nd bath after grooming. Bay View charged us $105 to groom the same dog over the course of almost 7 hours in a facility I wouldn't allow a pet rat to live in. And they scent-bombed her to the point of me considering a trip to the ER as I write this. I 1,000,000% am okay with paying extra because it had been a while since our dog was groomed, but spending 2.5 times what we spent previously for a dramatically worse end result feels wrong.At the end of the day, yes, our dog does look better. But I'll travel to Idaho for grooming before bringing her back to this salon.

Super easy! Directions are on the machines for self wash, employees offered to help too. Haven't had my Chi groomed there yet because I just discovered them but will definitely use the self wash again! So nice to not have to bend down! If your dog also hates the dryer bring your own towel $15 for 15 minutes

Love the self dog wash! It's like a car wash for your dog - very easy to use. My Great Dane actually fit very comfortably in the large dog tub, and the nonskid bottom kept her feeling secure. Even though she's an older girl and not very spry anymore, she had no problem getting in and out.The wash includes shampoo and rinse (of course) but also has a conditioner option and even flea treatment. There's both high and low options for the dryer, so if you have a skiddish dog, you can use the quieter option. Price was very fair and plenty of time on the clock. (We didn't even use the whole time, even on my big girl!)Very nice option when you don't want to go all the way to Portland if your dog doesn't fit into the tub at home!

We took our toy poodle there for a groom. We wanted him trimmed short as it was July. They told us we had to bring him in at 9am (1/2 hr away). They didn't actually groom him until late afternoon and we picked him up at 5. He acted extremely traumatized. I'd never seen him like that. He was so shaved his knees were down to skin, yet they didn't touch his butt at all, no trim. They clipped his ear, and I do understand that this happens now & then but this just added insult to injury. We had to wonder if he was kept in the crate all day with no water or potty breaks. He must've drank a whole quart of water when he got home (he's 7 lbs) We'll never take him there again.

Fantastic! I have taken my furry family to the same groomer/spa for 10+ yrs. I was worried at first (just like sending your child off for their 1st day of school) when I went and picked them up the were happy, pretty and very well taken care of. She is also very intelligent in animal health and pays close attention to anything that concerns her and let's you know. The furry kids are going back for sure.

my dog loves going here. they are so wonderful! she is afraid of new people and water but she doesn't have any problems going here. Mary and her staff are patient, kind and caring. Ada gives my lovely girl the best bath.

My dog went for a four day stay without any health issues when she got there. When I picked her up she had a big scrape on her nose as if she got into a fight with another dog. The lady said she got it trying to bury a bone, then she went on to say that she had diarrhea from the stress from a storm last night. I got her home and she continued to have stool issues, examining the poop found white specks that were moving, found that it was most likely the start of tapeworms, which are caused by a flea environment. I will never take my dog there again and suggest if take your pet there be very vary of your pets health

Life saver! They were able to board our cat last minute. I called the day before we left on our trip and they were able to accommodate us. Very nice and knowledgeable. Pricing was also very reasonable. Highly recommend them.

Mary and Ada do an outstanding job. I've used different groomers in different locations but none of them come even close to what Bay View does. They are definitely top shelf. Poppy loves to go there for spa day. When we drop her off she is like a stone. When we pick her up she is a diamond.

They're really nice, but they cut my dogs hair without permission. She was only there for boarding, not grooming, and I really liked my dogs hair. I understand it will grow back. But they should have asked first as it wasn't their dog. I didn't get a phone call or anything.

We have used the Kennel service twice now for a 3 day stay & an 8 day. We felt very comfortable knowing that our 13 year old dog was being well cared for while we were gone. They truly love animals! We highly recommend them.

We've used them a few times in the past, nice and rates are reasonable. I was a little put off by the smell throughout all the different buildings, I've been to several other boarding places and have never had the same problem. Also, the blankets we left with our dogs--when we got them back they were disgusting! I get that dogs are dirty, but the blanket had pee and feces all over it, the least they could have done was wash it. Overall, we found a different boarding place that was convenient and that didn't make me question the care my dogs were receiving when I was gone. I'm not saying that they don't love animals, it just seems like the business grew and they weren't equipped to handle the growth. The whole place seems kind of scattered and 'thrown together' but since they are pretty much the only boarding place within an hour or more in each direction, I feel like people probably settled.

9/28/2020This is a new review to add to my previous praise. My baby, McGee had an emergency crisis while in her care to be groomed. No fault of this estabishment. Mary immediately contacted me. Because of my current living situation, she kept him overnight so she could keep him in a confined environment. That and I have a spunky minpin. She babied him as though he were her own. I can't say enough how much she and Ada mean to me. My baby is home and doing well. Thank you Mary. Love you very much. You're a blessing to me and my fur babiesMary is outstanding both as a groomer and a person. My kids, well McGee, can be difficult and she handles him in a loving way

A little disappointed in scheduling an appointment for a cat. Cat grooming day is only once a month. Dogs totally rule in Oregon. Cats are considered 2nd class petizens. However, the ladies are super nice and definitely seem very experienced in servicing both dogs AND cats. Basically we learned how to groom our own kitty.

Mary and Ada were great! They were willing to wait for my dog and I as we arrived later in the evening. When I picked my dog up he was so happy and I was glad he was able to run with the big dogs.

Bay View Grooming is the place you want to take your furbabies to- whether you are boarding or grooming your🐱babies🐕. Mary and Ada are AWESOME with all the animals. She had my dog for 6hrs. I have an English Springer Spaniel and she has been shaved very short I can even see skin in some places. We will never go back again... if I wanted my dog shaved I would have done it myself.
