A remarkable store, packed with quality supplies. Everyone there is happy to help and offer advice, or to just let you wander around and see what's there. I've never felt like anyone was trying to push supplies. In fact, I have been gently guided away from an expensive product to something less costly because it was more appropriate for what I was planning to do.Check with them on the art class schedule. I signed up for a watercolor class, and it's making all the difference between something that I would have struggled with on my own, and developing some skills that I'm proud of.

Everything you need and a lovely experience to boot! Owned by a mother son team that are full of knowledge and happy to help, explain or demo items. It’s a candy store for creativity and the prices are great. Grab some items tax free before you head back to WA.

This is a fantastic art store and rivals any big city store. They have an amazing array of supplies and some brands I’ve not been able to find anywhere else. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful as well. I can’t wait to go back.

I called to verify the holiday hours this week. When I spoke with the shop keep he told me the shop was open until 5:30. I drove out to the store and it’s actually closed the whole week for painting. It would be helpful to update the hours on google and tell someone when they call that you are closed.

Absolute gem of a place! The owners are extraordinarily helpful and friendly. Their selection is amazing and they are so supportive of their customers and of their town. They gave great suggestions on what to do in Astoria.It was such a pleasure to spend time in their store and chat (and hang out with their gorgeous pup). I'm looking forward to the next time I am in Astoria!

We stopped in this past Tuesday on our way out of town after spotting it the evening before. So happy we did! The owner and his partner were very friendly and fun to chat with. Found not only what I was looking for and then some, and their prices are competitive with Blick. We'll be back in Astoria, and next time, I want to see the loft too!

My daughter and I spent 2 weeks on the WA and OR coast last month and discovered Dots and Doodles in Astoria, OR. New owners were extremely friendly and knowledgeable! So friendly we took a long drive around this quaint town and did more shopping! This store is full of everything art related you can imagine! As a matter of fact, we went back to shop some more the next morning! If it weren't a 10 hour drive for us to go back home to ID, we'd get all our art supplies from them from now on!

Such a great experience after growing up shopping at Art Media in Portland where prices where astronomical and the staff often a bit pretentious, yet unhelpful. Dots N Doodles is everything I used to imagine a great art store being, before I’d ever been in a great art store.1. It’s really a small town, community store, not a corporate chain. And it shows.2. The owners are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about art materials. And they have a great knack for knowing how much to offer their assistance and how much to just let you discover the store. It’s rare that I go to a store where they actually teach me things. But they’ve taught me a number of things.3. They have the most wonderful store mascot. The sweetest dog ever.4. The selection is outstanding. They always have what I’m looking for and have things I didn’t know I should try.5. Two of the friendliest people you could ever hope to meet. I don’t know how a retail experience could be any better than a visit with either of these two.6. Prices are very reasonable in an industry known for being priced for well-to-do hobby artists. Lots of materials on an ongoing sale. And there’s usually several great things on a steep discount. I often leave with an impulse buy because the sale was too good to pass up.You cannot get from an online discount store what you get Dots and Doodles. Instead of ending up with a great price on the wrong things/poor quality, you get a great price on the right things, some helpful direction and a very good experience. Plus it’s right in the neighborhood. This professional painter couldn’t recommend an art store any more than I recommend Dots N Doodles.

I stopped in as I traveled through Astoria and needless to say I was amazed. This art store is so well stocked and has such a variety of tools for any type of artist. They had colored pencils I could not even get at my local Blick store. The displays were gorgeous, the owners were extremely Nice and the dog that the store was named after was beyond cute. Anytime I travel to Oregon, I will for sure be stopping here.

Art is my passion and I’m so happy that this business exists. The prices are very reasonable, have a whole variety of art supplies. I went in there for some art supplies and and left with art supplies, a smile and a strong desire to come back. I highly recommend this to anyone working on their art project. :)
