I was able to get my dogs in super fast how've I waited for them to open over 40 minds the day of my appt. I could see a man their the window, but after 40 mins, I left without them being groomed. The past time we went there, one of our dogs returned to me with a bleeding nail. When I'd asked the man, he said it was due to her being on pavement. She walked from their door to my truck parked in the spot right at the door and nowhere else. I'll be taking my dogs elsewhere

BEST EVER WITH MY DOGS. ( my dog is blind and hates her nails cut. She bites and resists, but Mitch handles it like a pro.) I highly recommend. He loves loves loves animals and it shows. :)

We bring our Lanseer here and he is a lot of dog...they do a superb job. He likes to go there, which is the true test of how they treat the dog in your absence. And it's a four hour grooming!

Eight years ago we had an awful experience with a groomer barely cutting my dog's hair and refusing to do her nails because according to her, she would have to muzzle her to do it. I had just gotten her as a rescue a couple of months before and she is a 10 lb Chihuahua/Yorkie/Terrier mix with a really sweet personality. I did all of her grooming at that point, doing a so-so haircut and trimming her nails. We got behind this Spring on the haircuts and she was looking shaggy and unkempt. Took her to Mitch and he did a wonderful job with both her hair and nails and the price was also super reasonable. He is now her official groomer as I am retiring from the position!

Mitch is amazing!! My dog has long hair & hates to be brushed!! Mitch gave him a "summer do" last summer & now again a couple of days ago. I don't live in Astoria but visit often enough to have him as Kobe's "go to" groomer! His shop is small so there's not heavy duty barking to add to his stress. In fact, Mitch put Kobe in a cage/kennel for a time. It ended up being a short time cuz Kobe made it known he was unhappy with the accomodations so Mitch let him out for the remainder of his stay there! I won't be taking my Kobe anywhere else

I have been trying my best to keep giving them a chance. I have a 10 year old pomeranian who gets his hair cut every 6 weeks (so we are very used to groomers). I ask everytime not to cut his tail yet every.single.time they end up cutting his tail! They rarely hear you come in so you get the pleasure of listening to them scream, yell and curse in the back. They yank dogs around and just are not professional or kind behind your back. To top it off they have lost my dogs collar the last TWO times we were in there. It was convenient because they were close to our house but we will never be returning and will encourage others not to take their dog to them if they want their dog treated well!!

Very fast professional and experience. Baileys is Very happy now. She freaks out getting her nails trimmed but he did amazing with her. After four nails in she was just fine with him cutting them.

They did our German Shepherd and she looks fantastic. We've taken her to other groomers but she's never looked as good as 6 she did after visiting Astoria Grooming. We would recommend them over and over.

We have been traveling in State in our RV with our "Doodle". Tried to get an appointment for the 11 month old to be groomed in our home town and at 4 more groomers in different towns. Everyone seemed to be "booked" out 2-8 weeks! Our little guy was developing serious mats and desperately needed attention. Mitch was the first person to assure me he was experienced with poodles and doodles and gave me an appointment for the first full day we were in the area. It took hours for him to remove all the mats and get our guy cleaned up. Thank you Mitch for caring and taking care of our puppy. If we lived here you would be our only dog groomer. You did a fantastic job!

We were passing through Astoria on a road trip and our golden doodle was a hot mess. Extremely matted and full of sand 😬 we called and they got us in day of which was AMAZING! Any time we’ve ever taken him to the groomer he’s come out completely traumatized. It was a relief to pick him up with his tail wagging and with the same high spirits as when we dropped him off! Thank you!!

Mitch was a doll and opened up for me when I arrived prior to his official opening for the day. Unbeknownst to me, their hours were changed, so not officially open when I arrived. He lives on premises so heard me knock on the door. He graciously brought my pup in for her nails trimmed. Family owned business 30 years where service is still king! Thanks Mitch, always a pleasure to do business with you!

Very sketchy place. Was given a quote over the phone. It changed in person with the same information. The owner said he's been training the lady that quoted me over the phone for many years but she still doesn't know what she's talking about. Then about a week later was called and informed that dogs belonging to someone else were ready for pickup. 🤣 They really need to get their stuff together.

Mitch did an incredible job on our golden doodle, Moose! We brought her in for her first ever haircut and she had many mats - we thought she would need to be shaved completely (as another groomer in the area told us). Mitch took the time to bond with Moose and make the experience for her a very positive one. Mitch removed all of the mats and when we picked her up, I couldn't believe how great she looked and how calm she was! We will only be going to Mitch from now on.

They were able to squeeze my dog in same day due to a cancellation. They answered the phone every time I called. They were pleasant, kind, and my dog looks perfect! Super clean, cut looks great and was exactly what I asked for. Very happy!

We have pretty high expectations and Connie far exceeded them!We were traveling in the area and our 2 pups needed grooming, Connie was able to fit us in!She met with us prior to grooming because we were thinking of changing how our pom mix was cut, she suggested we trim her with the largest clipper blade, I was a little nervous but when we returned, our pups were beautiful!Our shy terrier pup even gave Connie a little kiss as we left. Astoria Grooming did a fantastic job, when we are in the area again we will be going back to see Connie!

I don’t typically write reviews but when it comes to my dogs I get pretty opinionated.First, I have had designer dogs for ten(10) years and they require a lot of maintenance. The groomers at this location are personable but in my opinion a far cry from professional. My two dogs (a moodle and a mini poodle) were butchered in comparison to all my ten(10) years of experience.I never expected a show cut just a decent trim.

We have taken my husband's service dog here many time and when we ask his to perform certain tasks (I.e. please do not have our dog around other animals, cut his behind fluff closer please) he completely disobey our wishes. He has never cut him close like we asked and we have asked 5 different time. He also cut his dew claw way too close and didn't tell us when we picked him up. We had to see him bleeding before we realized he was cut. To me that says he was trying to hid the fact he cut him. That says unprofessional all the way to me. We will never bring him back here! We have given him chance after change and he continues to disappoint.

I do not recommend this business. The main reason is that they did not know which dog belonged to which owner or which dog was which. I was told my dog would be ready around 2/ 3 pm. I called at 2:45 to check in and they told me it come at 4:00. At 4:00 they said they needed 15 more minutes. A dog that was not mine was presented to me wearing my dog's harness and leash. I told her that one's not mine.She was apologetic and said they didn't know which dog was which or who they belonged to.She said they looked so much alike-this dog was brown and 15-20 pounds heavier than mine who is pure white. She said I could come into the back to see my dog, she told me that he had been finished since 3pm when I called to check in. He was in a crate with a collar on that was not his. I grabbed my dog and got out there as fast as possible.She was apologetic and said she was mortified but I felt that is no excuse. Due to this unprofessional behavior, I worry my dog may have been sent home with the wrong person in a worst case scenario. He also sat in a crate for 1.5 hours although his grooming was done. .Secondly, we waited 15 minutes at the front desk at drop off even though we had a 11:00 appointment. We had to go back into the grooming area and yell at the groomer (headphones on drying another dog) to get his attention that we were waiting to drop our dog off.I gave 2 stars because my dog's haircut was as expected, although I feel overpriced at $95.00. We wont be returning to this business.

I have used Astoria grooming before and it was fine. But last week I used them again after about a year break. We told Mirch not to trim my cocker to close, because she kinda goes into a shock, shaking, flipping her ear, running around crazily. She won't lay down. There are parts of her stomach where there is no hair at all. I called Mitch and he got snippy with me. After a week she is still not back to normal. I will never use him again!

They took our dog Boo Bear in while we were in town visiting with no appointment. Boo was matted and has arthritis , but they took great care of him and made us feel very comfortable and relieved. Thank you

Awesome!!! Angie is a wonderful groomer. Very gentle with dogs. Superb cuts, outstanding service, and quiet affordable. The shop is great. Groomer works in store front window. The entire property is gorgeous.
